I think, like Furries, Monster Girls have tiers that eventually reach Bestiality. Here's my preliminary theory on human-morphs: a Human-morph is only a "Monster Girl" if it A) exhibits some explicitly monstrous trait or B) it is being refrenced alongside some other, "core" monster girls we've discussed, such as harpies, mermaids, centaurs etc. If one of those features is met, then the taxonomic classification from the initial lecture can apply, and we can start to break down human-morphs along taxonomical subgroupings. I'd say that Giants, alongside beings like Cyclops, Dullahan's and Ogres, are a type of morph that is established by their "monstrous" traits, those being their large size and monstrous nature. Therefore, they could be counted as an auxiliary taxa of monster-girls, with Dullahan perhaps being an edge-case. The crucial difference comes, when we start to look at "monster girls", whose core defining characteristics are reflections of human society, or other social concepts. For example, Angels, Elves, Dwarves or Androids wouldn't automatically be considered monster girls. They would need to fulfill qualities A or B to qualify, or be explicitly stated to be "monster girls".
Professor, I too have a question that is somewhat related to my classmate's. Are people who lost an eye cyclops? What if they didn't lose it but were just born without one? Are those people cyclops now because their genes determined they shouldn't have two eyes?
Those are objectively monster girls. I mean, heck, you can just go check the literal holy bible of monster girls- the Monster Girl Encyclopedia. If it's in there it's colloquially considered a monster girl. Almost all monster girl media pulls from it at this point for a reason, it's lore included.

However one can choose to not be called a furry and only be furry-adjacent (someone whose interest is aligned/intersects with furry stuff) , a term coined by The Voice actor Ben Diskin, who voiced both Jack from beastars, and Haida from Aggretsuko. That's why the old school Disney animators who made anthro stuff are *NOT* furries, but rather furry adjacent.
Furry = Fan of anthropomorphic character designs. Fan = Someone who deeply enjoys a subject and has a measure of personal investment in it. You can like things and not be an actual fan of it. So, take it from a furry: you can enjoy/respect even _actually_ furry stuff without being one yourself. So enjoying/fanboying over monster girls especially does not make you a furry. You good, chief.

Furries are anthropomorphic animals, Monster girls are humans with certain characteristics of an animal, ears, legs, wings, etc. With that being said, I have a question, Is Polt from MonMusu a furry or a monster girl?
Both, because she appears to be anthropomorphic as a humanoid; having animal characteristics such as fur, all over her body, an animalistic nose, eyes, mouth and obvious exposure of her fangs, animalistic paws on her humanoid hands, and a werewolf tail. On the humanistic side, she has human hair and wears sports clothing, behaves like a human at an extent, however, also behaves animalistic (when petted, she wags her tail). The behavior of the character is in between humanistic and animalistic. I would definitely put her in between the Furry & Monster Girl spectrum because she's a anthropomorphic character having both humanistic and animalistic behaviors, wears human clothing, and expresses her expertise just like a human. Another example of this type of character like Polt would be Carrot from One Piece.
by your own distinction between monster girls and anthropomorphic animals, the cat girls of neko para are monster girls. There is a lore to them as a species, they are more pets than humans, and definitely lean more to the animalistic side. Although i agreed with your definition wholeheartedly, i must say the neko para cat girls challenge that approach!
plus if you look closely with anatomy,the skull,the mouth,teeths are not same than human only lack of felid pawn or nose and can almost be 3 on furry scale.
A monster girl is a human with animalistic features, while an anthro is an animal with human features. Think of it like that, a human is a base, as in, a human face, skin, the entire body is like a chassis. You add on features like ears and a tail. If you wrap the tail around the waist and put on a hat, then a catgirl is INDISTINGUISHABLE from a conventional human being. Here is a hot take, if you can easily cover up the animalistic features and look just like a human but with markings/funny eyes, this is not an anthropomorphic animal, but a human doing a cosplay.
I propose that a werewolf is a different concept due to the intermittent nature of the animalistic characteristics. The closest thing to a werewolf in concept is a magical girl, as both have their abnormal forms only under certain circumstances, outside of which they are completely in human form.

Slime girls can pretty much morph and have full control of their entire bodies. So they can basically just change the pressure, acidity, and density of a specific part of their body. Which is why you shouldn't really worry much about how solid they are during intercourse(as long as they are intelligent enough to know).
I'm pretty sure they are as solid as jelly in normal conditions, but as you said they can change their shape and solidity, which means they can become fully solid too like the slime Rimuru from TenSura.
I guess that is also how they can walk and move like a normal person because they need the structure to be able to stand and the fluidity to be slime I wonder what their cell and tissue structure would be like as well as their nervous system I think that their tissue would be a modular group of cells that both have a very simple neurological ganglion and fibres that can lock with other modules to form a skeletal structure and brain
Personally, I believe that when considering whether or not something is a monster girl, we must think of it less in the physicality of things, but in the circumstances around the specimen. Whether or not they look monster like, they are to be considered monster girls if the circumstances deem it appropriate. This is where the difference between anthropomorphic animals and monster girls comes into play. As an example, succubus are considered monster girls because there is a reason, lore wise, to their specific actions. Anthropomorphic animals are more about physicality. Kemonomimi are, usually more along the furry line because they are usually just normal people who also have animalistic features. Monster girls are girls who are monster like in nature, yet look human, to varying degrees, of course.
Some people draw succubus with more goatlike legs and horns and approach furry level. Same with other demons in general. Some franchises depict Satan/demons as ful blown goatmen too.
I love the fact that my parents don't know English so I can take this class with no headphones and they'll think it's some sort of non monster girl/furry related thing.

I think what makes a monster girl not a furry is there are parts that are 100% human, while others are 100% animal, while furries are about 50-70% human and 50-30% animal. The top of a centaur is a normal human, but the bottom is a completely different animal, but a horse furry would be consistently the same ratio the entire time
Perhaps Prof. Lando needs to assign Monster Girl Quest (all DLC, all defeats) as homework. If any students can't differentiate between a furry animal and a monster Girl after that then they might have to attend extra classes over summer.
Sharks are fish, they have gills, their tails move back and forth vs mammals moving side to side, they grow nonstop throughout their lives like reptiles, amphibians, and fish, mammals stop after a certain point, and fish have cartilage not bones... most of the time there are some exceptions (also not counting jaws and teeth), for some examples.

Actually, there is a wildness coefficient that determines the difference between a monster girl and a normal furry, any furry, is wild enough or with animal characteristics (personality wise) can be a monster girl.
I just realized something: wouldn't a character with the head of an animal but the body of a human be the equivalent of a Schrödinger's cat theory due to the subject being directly in the middle of the lines between furry and monstergirl/monsterboy?
I'd say undead is where lady Dumitrescu lands, I also group cursed beings into this category, your vampires, werewolves, zombies, frankenstein's monster... key name being there. I would qualify them as a sub genre of monster girls, especially since humans could also be classified as monsters, therefor their undead equivalents also monsters. I'd also say, and did in another comment I accidentally went TOO LONG ON, catgirls not monster girls, I got a chart being a 0-5 ratio, human to animal, fox girls and other hybrids land at 1/5, humans 0/5, monster girls down the middle 50/50, furries 3/4s to 4/5, and 5/5 is just straight up animal. Some monster girls can be confused with hybrids, like Kitsune are different from fox girls, both are fox human like creatures, but Kitsune have magical powers and other things, so they're at about 1/3 or 2/5 on the chart, and not the only monster girls, centaurs and arachne land on 3/5 to 2/3 reaching dangerously furry territory.

Respectfully, if catgirls don't qualify as monster girls, most "monster girls" don't qualify as *Real* monster girls since they're just people with some add-ons. This is my extensively researched observation after years of research on the subject of monster girls. Anthropomorphic animals don't always quality as monster girls, but I think monster girls should be defined by how literally *monstrous* they are. Instead of the usual 15-25% that's popularized, we should set the standard at a 65-70% minimum for the monster elements in order to qualify.

Being a furry isn't inherently an attraction though. I mean it can be, but it's just an interest. A lot of furries are minors.

Furry = Fan of anthropomorphic character designs.
Fan = Someone who deeply enjoys a subject and has a measure of personal investment in it.
You can like things and not be an actual fan of it. So, take it from a furry: you can enjoy/respect even _actually_ furry stuff without being one yourself. So enjoying/fanboying over monster girls especially does not make you a furry. You good, chief.

Furries are anthropomorphic animals, Monster girls are humans with certain characteristics of an animal, ears, legs, wings, etc. With that being said, I have a question, Is Polt from MonMusu a furry or a monster girl?

Both, because she appears to be anthropomorphic as a humanoid; having animal characteristics such as fur, all over her body, an animalistic nose, eyes, mouth and obvious exposure of her fangs, animalistic paws on her humanoid hands, and a werewolf tail. On the humanistic side, she has human hair and wears sports clothing, behaves like a human at an extent, however, also behaves animalistic (when petted, she wags her tail). The behavior of the character is in between humanistic and animalistic.
I would definitely put her in between the Furry & Monster Girl spectrum because she's a anthropomorphic character having both humanistic and animalistic behaviors, wears human clothing, and expresses her expertise just like a human.
Another example of this type of character like Polt would be Carrot from One Piece.

by your own distinction between monster girls and anthropomorphic animals, the cat girls of neko para are monster girls. There is a lore to them as a species, they are more pets than humans, and definitely lean more to the animalistic side.

A monster girl is a human with animalistic features, while an anthro is an animal with human features.
Think of it like that, a human is a base, as in, a human face, skin, the entire body is like a chassis. You add on features like ears and a tail. If you wrap the tail around the waist and put on a hat, then a catgirl is INDISTINGUISHABLE from a conventional human being.
Here is a hot take, if you can easily cover up the animalistic features and look just like a human but with markings/funny eyes, this is not an anthropomorphic animal, but a human doing a cosplay.

I propose that a werewolf is a different concept due to the intermittent nature of the animalistic characteristics. The closest thing to a werewolf in concept is a magical girl, as both have their abnormal forms only under certain circumstances, outside of which they are completely in human form.

Slime girls can pretty much morph and have full control of their entire bodies. So they can basically just change the pressure, acidity, and density of a specific part of their body. Which is why you shouldn't really worry much about how solid they are during intercourse(as long as they are intelligent enough to know).
I'm pretty sure they are as solid as jelly in normal conditions, but as you said they can change their shape and solidity, which means they can become fully solid too like the slime Rimuru from TenSura.
I guess that is also how they can walk and move like a normal person because they need the structure to be able to stand and the fluidity to be slime

Personally, I believe that when considering whether or not something is a monster girl, we must think of it less in the physicality of things, but in the circumstances around the specimen. Whether or not they look monster like, they are to be considered monster girls if the circumstances deem it appropriate. This is where the difference between anthropomorphic animals and monster girls comes into play. As an example, succubus are considered monster girls because there is a reason, lore wise, to their specific actions. Anthropomorphic animals are more about physicality. Kemonomimi are, usually more along the furry line because they are usually just normal people who also have animalistic features. Monster girls are girls who are monster like in nature, yet look human, to varying degrees, of course.
Some people draw succubus with more goatlike legs and horns and approach furry level. Same with other demons in general. Some franchises depict Satan/demons as ful blown goatmen too.

I think what makes a monster girl not a furry is there are parts that are 100% human, while others are 100% animal, while furries are about 50-70% human and 50-30% animal. The top of a centaur is a normal human, but the bottom is a completely different animal, but a horse furry would be consistently the same ratio the entire time
All memes aside, I think that's actually a pretty good way of defining the different categories

Actually, there is a wildness coefficient that determines the difference between a monster girl and a normal furry, any furry, is wild enough or with animal characteristics (personality wise) can be a monster girl.

I'd say undead is where lady Dumitrescu lands, I also group cursed beings into this category, your vampires, werewolves, zombies, frankenstein's monster... key name being there. I would qualify them as a sub genre of monster girls, especially since humans could also be classified as monsters, therefor their undead equivalents also monsters.
I'd also say, and did in another comment I accidentally went TOO LONG ON, catgirls not monster girls, I got a chart being a 0-5 ratio, human to animal, fox girls and other hybrids land at 1/5, humans 0/5, monster girls down the middle 50/50, furries 3/4s to 4/5, and 5/5 is just straight up animal. Some monster girls can be confused with hybrids, like Kitsune are different from fox girls, both are fox human like creatures, but Kitsune have magical powers and other things, so they're at about 1/3 or 2/5 on the chart, and not the only monster girls, centaurs and arachne land on 3/5 to 2/3 reaching dangerously furry territory.
I'd count undead as monster girls, maybe they fall into 2/5 because they start as humans then become monster girls/boys?

I’ve learned more from Professor Lando in the past month than I did from any of the teachers during the entirety of my education.
Respectfully, if catgirls don't qualify as monster girls, most "monster girls" don't qualify as *Real* monster girls since they're just people with some add-ons. This is my extensively researched observation after years of research on the subject of monster girls.
Anthropomorphic animals don't always quality as monster girls, but I think monster girls should be defined by how literally *monstrous* they are. Instead of the usual 15-25% that's popularized, we should set the standard at a 65-70% minimum for the monster elements in order to qualify.
70% is a little steep, at that point you're getting into level 3 anthro territory.
@@galarstar052 I mean, that's entirely the point since they're supposed to be more monstrous and not so much human, I think it's completely reasonable. The fun of a monster girl, in my humble opinion, is the fun of the part that isn't human.

@@adam-ft2ny I'd argue that it's the minority that are required to be half human half animal, it's pretty much specifically relegated to the centaur, naga, and mermaid types but even nagas and mermaids are free to more interpretation and as long as the shape fits the proper anatomy it still works.

Hey there, new to the channel love your videos, agree 100% with all this... but what would you say to Pokemon? Some obviously animals like Eevee, others sure Lopunny Lucario furry, but Gardevoir I'd argue is a monster girl. Machamp, Alakazam... gross but Mr Mime.
