Excellent video Jack. It's why this channel is so good. None of this spinning the camera round for 20mins saying ' look what I've done today which makes terrible viewing, a proper video doing actual work. Keep um coming Jackm superb
Thanks dude I appreciate that a lot
Big up the ‘B-roll’…better than shorts that just repeat the same video content 👍
Big up you mark, we’re trying dude
Love the B roll, if you watch it back, you actually catch Scotty doing something 😂
Hahahaha u would have to look hard 😂😂
First time comming across your channel mate.. Awsome work, im a newly qualified electrician and still brusing up on it all. So from me a massive thank you 🤙
Legend welcome dude hope bits will help and good luck with your work 🤙🤙🤙
Excellant video again guys, I wasn’t sure if that was Scott’s normal speed there at the end lol Spielberg eat your heart out 🎬
Thanks dude, he’s slower than that it’s sped up 50% 😂😂😂😂
Hi Jack, nice to see you again, when you drill through the ceiling, things are never where you expect them to be in the loft, there is always something in the way, but in the end, you sorted it matey.
Regards from Ray the old sod from North Wales
Ahoy Ray welcome back sir
always something isn’t there 😂😂 yeah got there in the end 💪 cheers mate
Nice to see a sort of how to vid, always interesting seeing different ways people work. Big up ya self
Big up dude, yeah it’s always good too see how others do it, we have been doing it a good few years now and working with others u learn tips and tricks to make life easier 💪
Great video!! We got the time lapse, the B roll, the Banta! Top work JRC! (Hndy too, I was looking at the FType Downlights but at £19 a unit the JCC's might be the way forward)
Thanks dude, there both decent lights to be fair, f type are integrated so no gu10 these are cheaper because there lamp and cans 🤙🤙
I hope those cables are not just chucked in the loft but clipped properly
I hope so too
Scott went up 😂😂
Great content. Subscribed. Keep them coming.
Thankyou 🙏
Top job JRC Electrical 👌👌
Thanks dude
Here because of a CableSmith Electrical shout out. I did like the last part, got to admit. Great content and definitely useful for us learners. How about an automatic wire stripper to get sub 60 seconds on a downlight install?
Hi Gareth thanks for coming over 🤙
Thanks dude hopefully gonna do a bit more to help out learners, I’ve had a go with the auto strippers before but couldn’t get on with them and it’s just something else to fill my pockets 😂😂😂
👏🏼👏🏼
Greetings Sir Jack! Tanks for a nice vid!
Ahoy captain Jim thanks for the continued support 🙏
Cheers Jack.. Enjoyed it mate👍👌
Thanks dude
JRC using JCC. Noiice
Noiiiccccceeeee
19:40 Not got a semi from a sparky vid until now. Big up the B-roll 👌
👀😂😂😂😂👏👏👏
Great videos keep them coming don't do the shorts like n bundy the shorts get boring 😴
Thanks mate appreciate it, I can’t get them to do any good anyway 😂 struggling to get more new people in to watch the videos tho so thort it might be worth a go for that
Socket screws 6 o clock or quarter to 3 ? Also is that your 6" of cable at every downlight?😂
Quarter to 3 every time, so the pins are smiling at you 😂 we leave a lot of cable at downloghts to be fair
Better to look at it than to look for it 😂
Hi Geez nice vid thx for that although what I wish to see is the wiring of the switch and the testing next time please thx guys keep up the good work
Ok sir I shall remember this for next time, can’t show all the tricks tho I will have no job 😂
Which point(s) would you test to having installed all the new lights? Would you take the GU10s out of each fitting? What about if they were integrated? Thanks for the video.
To properly test the while thing you would need to remove lamps and dimmers from everywhere on the circuit your testing, you can also link the l-n and test to earth starting a 250v just incase 👀 😂
Another tidy job boys 👍. Jack can those downright be covered with loft insulation do you know ? Cheers gary
Cheery gary, yeah I believe so mate I’m 99% sure they can
@@JRCElectrical cheers Jack 🤙

You missed the most important bit!, are you wiring the downlighters in a daisy chain? ie, from one lamp to the next with live to live, neutral to neutral , lamp to lamp? or it it running in a loop? I am only familiar with DC rather than AC, and that is what I came to find clarification on.
Yeah so each fitting is wired from the one before and finishing at the last, l - n - earth in and the same out to next
Many thanks, the lights I have is an Aldi special with no "Out" just an "in" with Live and neutral, @@JRCElectrical ,so if i take the live neutral from the light before and put two wires in each hole that is the same colour , all good? only three lamps. Many thanks for replying, it is very much appreciated, or is there some type of block that I can use to wire them into?
@@motorclaimguru yeah each light will have 2 lives 2 neutrals and 2 earths that need connecting to the light
The final light will just have one of each
that is where i am Stuck, each light only had two poles, a live and a neutral@@JRCElectrical
Spot on chaps 👍💡💡💡💡💡💡
Cheers dude 🤙
Why not stick a bradawl in instead of a drill bit, smaller hole & less risk of going into pipes or cables + less filling!
A fair point sir 👏
I have a query and don't mean to come across negative. The content is great, all helpful, as are many other videos on this topic. However, regardless of of ability to do this work - where does this fall with the regs and part p? My concern with ME doing the work isn't my ability, it's my concern over voiding my house insurance, having issues later in selling the house with no certificate etc etc. Can anyone clarify?
None of the work needs notifying as it’s not notifiable work (bathrooms and kitchens mainly)
When you sell the house you would need an EICR or electrical cert covering the property and any electrical works you have had done so this would need to be done prior to you selling the house.
I wouldn’t advise doing it yourself as you may struggle when it comes to sell
Is that jim from friday night dinner in your van?
Yeah shalom
Just a question. Did those down lights connected directly to AC? Or did you put an led driver at some point?
Yeah there 240v so wire straight into them 👍
Hi sir have you ever come up against the walls not being level or the walls are out one end and in the other how do you measure them then. If your 600 from the wall would you do still do 600 all 4 ways even if the wall is in and out
Normall even if the walls are out it won’t be that far out and measuring and lasering either end of the room will make them level with the walls so your eyes won’t notice it’s out, that’s what we do anyway 🤷♂️ 😂
@JRCElectrical I got from one end of the wall to the other 356 cm and the opposite side same wall to the other wall 354 cm
Then across I got 341 cm one side and the other side I got 343
Even if the walls are out should I still do the same measurements all the way
@@khurama30 yeah because ure eyes will follow the wall and 2cm isn’t a lot at all
Thamkyou very very much buddy really appreciate it
bigging up the do you remember ...
😎 😂😂😂 big up
1st
