Noticed across the board, since the turn of the year gotten quieter. However last week or two things, seems to be picking up a little. I'm a fitters / kbb industry 👍
Consumer unit upgrade and BG just don’t go together - it’s like fitting remoulds to a Lamborghini
😂😂😂 it used to be they have come a long way
Also lad c3 on that cooker hood spur behind chimney local isolation not accessible for cooker hood other wise good job
👀
How is 0.24 under 0.8 ?? Huh
It’s 0.56 under
Collingwood H2 lite are my go too, great for swap over jobs as it’s very compact with a nice so bezel so pretty much fits in any size hole. Dim with a V-Pro, perfect every time
Thankyou good sir
I have the poe one connected to a poe switch. The issue with Reolink cameraas and this one in particular, is the lack of exposure/ backlight setting when dealing with part shadows and light. If your door is facing an over exposed area, you can't see any faces. That's why they are cheap!
Love that wallpaper man
💪 sick isn’t it
@@JRCElectrical yeah man
JCC fire guards with megaman gu10’s with a v pro dimmer simples😊
A lot of people saying this Thankyou
Hi Jack Good to meet you at elex show thanks for the time for a little chat. As you know I'm at the hospital and we are always busy. I can't see the domestic side getting any better any time soon but I hope your your benefit it does
Thankyou good sir it was awesome to finally meet you and have a chat aswell, yeah it’s not looking good, glad ure keeping busy and enjoying it up the hospital tho
Telecoms (splicing and testing) in ireland and fortunately we've never been busier. Hopefully things pick up jack big up man
Glad your busy sir and thankyou hopefully pick up soon 💪
Work is slack mainly because of the morons in no 10 , people are fearful of their next stealth tax
What does the black spiel mean
What’s a black spiel?
Aurora/Enlite lamps and a V-Pro dimmer everytime. Never had an issue.
LOADS of votes for this now Thankyou I’ll have to have a look
Go on big lad! Work hasn’t been bad here but like you say it’s just bitty jobs. Few big jobs, big quotes and re-wires but not every week! Always gets like this around this time and towards Christmas though! Big up ya self!
Big up Stu as always thanks for your comment mate, hope it picks up for us all get us them nice big jobs in 💪
Hi Ya . Is it possible the dimmer can be at fault for flickering ?? rgds Don
Nah I’ve had it on a few jobs over the years it’s just lamps are poo, been absolutely fine since changing to integrated
Thanks for the shoutout-glad you’re loving Tradify!
❤️ thank you
Hi, are the GU10 lamps you are using compatible with leading and trailing edge dimmers or only one or the other? This was always an issue even with incandescent when dimming became popular, check compatibility of lamps to method of dimming maybe?
Yeah they mostly are sound then 1 will flicker slightly really random 😂
NOOOICCCEEE! Good to see you back Sir, and hope business picks up for you soon! I can't comment on how work is as I'm not a tradesman. BIG UP YOUR SELF Jack! Take care! ❤ to you and your family!
Thankyou big padders as always big up yourself sir love to you all
I'm a commercial electrician doing schools/offices mainly (started out in new houses) and a lot of electricians (commercial) are telling me it is a bit quiet my next door neighbour delivers for a builder's merchants and has said it has quietened down on new build sites and is delivering more to smaller builders doing extensions etc. Northamptonshire area
Yeah it seems to be accross the board with every trade being slower than usual
It’s probably the dimmer as well check if it’s leading/trailing might help. Also. Megaman FTW
Thankyou good sir, a few people have said mega man now to be fair it might be worth a go
Megaman lamps eveytime no issues
Few votes for this aswell
Good to see you back. The drop off could be due to holidays and people putting off big jobs. I hope it picks up for you soon.
Thanks dude, yeah hopefully but the state of the country is a joke at the min
@JRCElectrical You've got no arguments from me on that score and it's only going to get worse, unfortunately.
@@fidge73 😞
Sparky in Leicester. I'm a 1 man band . Mainly domestic. I'm busy as hell. No massive jobs but still busy. I also subby to another company and book in a weeks work with them at a time. I can see it going to the dogs by Christmas
Ahhh fair play, seems to be accross the board and yeah I can imagine by November we’re all up the creek
So many issues with sealed fittings, so gone back to JCC cans with GU10 LED lamps, MegaMan lamps with BG dimmers have been 90% ok, Found the rich customers are still spending, but the everyday customers less so, never had so many million + houses on the job list at the moment, North to East Yorkshire
Ballers keep balling 😂😂 fair play to them glad your busy sir
Great video. We lurrve a bit of waffle vid. I'm an Improver, there seems to be more commercial, as that is what I'm doing. Getting to improve myself with domestic work is almost impossible with an electrician, which conflicts with my NVQ, yet another extension coming up. Ahhh, flickering dimmer. I've done a couple of jobs with this issue. Defo the dimmer, as it wasn't compatible with the lights, one of which were chandeliers with candle LED's. I just swapped for rocker switches, it was just easier for the client and cheaper. I think it's the load that is the issue. Dimmers have a minimum load requirement 🎉
Cheers dude, you could be right, the dimmers I use are led compatable but like you say 4 lamps as 20w max is very low compared to old lighting
V pro dimmer on Collingwood integrated lights. Rexels own make are Collingwood too.
Thankyou sir
We don’t fit anything but integrated down lights. We tend to use the ksr colour change units as we never have problems with them. We have slowed a bit but same as you busy with smaller jobs and commercial stuff. I think your right people are worried what’s coming
I think the country is on its knees and only going to get worse I’ll have a look at the ksr lights Thankyou
What areas do you cover mate? Im kidderminster based and looking to get some work done for my photography studio I'll be opening. I can't trust any electricians in my area.. 😂
Definitely cover kidderminster it’s about 10 mins away 😂 give us a call if you ever need anything
BIG hammer small tap can fix most flickers... hehe.. Was about to make a shrine to you as it's been a while... ;) BIG up to you as always you LEGend.
😂😂😂😂 the shrine isn’t needed yet 😂😂 big up mate
Another vote for the aurora gu10 used with a bg dimmer no problem
Thankyou sir
Bell gu10s always work great for us on dimmers. We have seen residential work slow down but government and commercial work we can’t keep up with it at the minute
Glad it’s busy for you my dude, bell gu10 is a new one, I have tried these before and I’m sure I had problems with them aswell, it’s looking like it must just be me 😂😂😂
Love you Jack. Big yaself up. Xoxo
❤️ love you 2 bro big up
I usually use Aurora ice dimmable GU10's, and v-pro dimmer module, and have had no problems so far. Also recently tried using one of the new BG LED dimmers with them, also worked fine. Have also used megaman dimmable GU10's with the v-pro, again no issues.
I'm also finding it really quiet at the moment. Probably has been the last 12 months TBH
It’s hard out there man, seems to be all over the place aswell
Loads of comments for aurora gu10 and v pro to be fair might be worth another go
Think a lot are struggling for money at the moment and they cut back on work and improvements. Depends what happens in the budget next month, but I think energy costs are going up again that month as well, just before winter!! I am industrial and down about 20% this year, from last, but that one was down 25% from previous year anyway. Just have to ride things through and see what happens. 👍
We ride the storm sir 💪, budgets and things in October will show us what’s coming I suppose people are being more careful untill then It will all sort itself in the end 💪
American Sparky here... They say the new construction side is suppose to slow down but it's not there yet. The remodel side definitely isn't slowing down. I've modeled my company to try and do a bit of both but we mostly do remodels and service work right now.
Many fingers in many pies 👏 Thanks for you comment sir Glad you are keeping busy 💪
@@JRCElectrical hope it gets busier for you
@@MikeWoodard thanks mate much appreciated
aurora lamps and Vpro's never had an issue installed probably 1000's
It seems a few are saying this
Lopez Ruth Perez Edward Garcia Mark
What does that mean
Brother Jack, I hope things improve for you. The political situation in both the UK and the states is in flux right now. It makes it hard for people to open their wallets for much less than rent or food. I really enjoy your videos. They help keep my spirits up.
yep, indeed sir. I used to live stateside, oshkosh wi. A county named after RV's lol. I did electrical there too (unlicensed, only maintenance). do you find the differences and similarities between the NEC and our IET regs fascinating, or am i just a sad geek?)
Thankyou good sir as always
@@TheChipmunk2008 I haven't actually compared the two in any detail, but I am aware there are some interesting differences. I have previously done some (unlicensed) electrical maintenance, but not so much anymore. Are you a geek, probably. Sad, I would say no.
@@metrotechguru5863 Very kind of you. I am glad i am one of the people who actually get to enjoy my job. Are there some crappy ones, yes, but is it by and large fun, also yes
I work for BT as a fixed network engineer in the exchanges so I’m not in the trade as such but have always enjoyed watching your videos. BT as a business are screaming out for ‘Power’ engineers at the moment so there’s an option if you thought about a change? Unsure on your area specifically but worth a look maybe? Love the videos as always!
Thankyou good sir, I think riding the storm would be better for my situation than taking an employed role to be fair, thankyou tho
Yeah you’re probably right, just was letting you know there are other things out there! I’ve worked for them since an apprentice and suppose use to the security of the pay cheque etc. I sincerely hope it all works out for you. I’ve said it before on your videos, just a genuine lad in the trade grafting. With good videos to boot!
@@samparsons5580 mate I appreciate your support ❤️ thankyou
I once installed LEDs onto a standard high voltage dimmer back in the early days of LEDs. When you turned it low they flickered like you were in a rave
Yeah this was my thought initially but it is an led dimmer and also dims perfectly with integrated led fittings, strange
Work shit atm …. Everything slowed down .. like you we got work but nothing “big”
Seems to be happening alot sir
Only fit lamps and cans, aurora lamps with click dimmers, never had an issue
Thankyou sir
Good vid also big man
Thankyou sir
Haven’t fitted can lights for over 5 years now …. Don’t think Lucas has ever fitted them at all mate
Crazy I stopped a good while ago but going back to them with lamp issues more and more often with fimmable
the screw is to comply with the LV electrical equipment safety regulations, live parts must not be accessible without the use of a tool (it's also why there's a cable tie slot on wago boxes, as wagos are removeable without a tool) We've been run off our feet lately, start of the year was DEAD (sparkies in the south of england, gosport/fareham/southampton) but now the phone won't shut up We use the 'switch' LED downlights from Rexel, CCT switchable, 2700/3500/4000k if i recall, and 8/10w switchable, 5 yr warranty/ I have found the dimmable GU10s from Screwfix are pretty reliable, the part number is 463PP for cool white. Sorry if this sounds patronizing, but are you using LED compatible dimmers (trailing edge)? Some dimmable LED lamps can handle the old leading edge dimmers, but a lot can't. For lower price on integrated LEDs, rexel also do a nice collingwood one for about a tenner, also colour temp and wattage switchable. Not sure of the wattage Not sponsored by Rexel, they're just our handiest local supplier (Shoutout to @sotaelectrical, who also habitually stalks the same branch, EV specialist)
What an awesome comment, glad you have picked up sounds like ure smashing it now after a crap start 💪 Those gu10 lamps are the ones I’ve just took out of here after 3 days Yeah using led dimmers it’s asif every load of lamps I buy one or 2 will flicker and just shit therselves 😂 Thanks for the recommendations sir I shall look at these Thanks again
@@JRCElectrical Thank you too, i just actually enjoy my job :) learned a new trick today, soffit lights... if it's pvc soffit you can use the channels inside it as trunking ;) not sure what the installation method code is but it kept me out of the attic!
It was literally do we drill 30 rafters. and fight, or, wait a minute.... i have an idea
@@TheChipmunk2008 hahah that’s ace
@@TheChipmunk2008 worth the extra thought then 😂
Hi jack, I'm using aurora ice dimmable lamps, and my goto dimmer v-pro. Still using cans, I leave the decision to the customer. About 50/50 split. JCC for integrated fittings. Busy, but not flat out.
I’ve used those lamps in the past and had problems with them also, like you say might be the v pro helping out there, glad your busy sir thankyou
yes it's always up to the customer in the end, unless they want something non compliant
Big up ya self jack ❤
Big up the big D
Hey Jack, obviously I can't comment on lack of work personally as I'm semi retired from my trade but I work part time in Morrisons and we are mobbed every day,I think the cost of living has a big impact and people are mainly concerned about eating and bills etc so that electrical or plumbing job that they want done just has to be put on the back burner till the new government budget is announced so they know how much spare cash they will have, hope things pick up for you big pal, those lights are great,so easy to install,I'm sure Zoe will get off your case now,I'm sure she knows how good you are she's just using insults to get results like most women 🤣big up big pal 👍
Hahaha all fair points, yeah it seems people are still going and eating out also, just seems a wierd time at the moment, she’s not been in and got them to bed yet so hasn’t commented 😂😂😂😂 big up as always
I'm electrasafe GB ,just north of London ,Been out on my own 30 years and never had it so slow
It’s not good is it, not good at all
Interesting, as i said in another comment, we're literally run off our feet, but absolutely zip thru checkatrade etc, all word of mouth/existing customers/builders we know, etc.
On the note of run off our feet, raise a glass for me for next week. full rewire, occupied 3 bed house... not looking forward to furniture humping lol
