    Out of all the videos I've watched asking people from different countries their views on America, China's people had the most respectful and kindest responses. 90% of Europe, "Uhhhh I think of fat stupid people".

    I am an American and 99.9% of all the news I hear about China is negative. That is why most Americans have a negative view of China.
    When I hear about the South China Sea issues, all I hear is that China is building military posts on those reefs and small islands and will impede the freedom of navigation. Why would China want to impede the freedom of navigation when their economy depends on the free flow of shipping from around the world? Nowhere do I hear that Vietnam or the Philippines are building on those reefs and islands, where in fact, Vietnam and the Philippines are. Why have Western media omitted that fact from the news? To sway public opinion on China? Why the 99.9% negative news reporting, is it to demonize China? I believe the answer is yes and yes.
    On the other hand, most Chinese people have a favorable opinion of America and the American people. That tells me their media reporting is neutral or at least they don't try to demonize America to the extent that we do to them.

      What's more, the nine-dash line was built up with the help of the US in 1947. At that time ,ROC couldnt even land those islands in south China sea if it's not the US who provided two warships. It's all about politics, that time ROC was in good relationship with the US so everything is fine, now the situation changes, than everything China did is wrong.
      No one wants a bad relationship with another country, especially with the only superpower in the world. but I guess the US needs enemies to keep investing the military tech and selling weapons for money.

    As a Chinese American myself, it seems to me that opinion of the US among Chinese is greater than the opinion of China among Americans. China is becoming more and more familiar with American culture as elements spread across the Pacific and more Chinese immigrate here.

      until they take a pic of something they don't want people to see...or talk to other's that might say something bad...then you get to pack up,they take your camera's and film and escort you to the airport out.I have been to china 3 times ..you are given an escort and are monitored at all times because they think most foreigners are spies....and get used to check points ..they are everywhere.Don't take pics of military or police,they tend to get angry about that for some reason...the Chinese will choreograph everything you do......and definitely watch what you say......jail time there is not as nice as the US or most western countries..As far as friends go.....hmmm..i think about 2/3rd s of the country doesn't hate us,but for any government groups,well lets just say not so much. Most US military people now are banned from going to china because of possible questioning by their government people,that spy thing again.Oh yeah if you get near Tienanmen square don't say anything about that guy standing in front of the tank or the killing's that took place there....that will get you in trouble....and be ready to follow them around like a pet dog for your stay,because everywhere you go you will have a handler,they say it's a safe country but yet they think you need protection,from whom?,i have no idea...But have fun.

    I met many Chinese people when I was visiting a US university. Many of the students I met were new in US. I found Chinese people to be very friendly, soft spoken, and open-hearted. They also invited me to their Moon festival celebration even though I am an Indian. Good people, overall. Very intelligent and hard working too. Girls wear too much makeup which I find a little off-putting, but that's a personal choice.

    • @ninahuang26
      @ninahuang26 4 роки тому +8

      huh really? Was it just for the moon festival? Because every Chinese person I know (which is a lot because I'm from China) barely wear any makeup. And my mom hates makeup too. When I came to America, I was questioning why there's so many people wearing makeup. I found a lot of people in Ameria wearing really heavy makeup and some are already wearing them in 6th grade, and they are not Chinese. So I have some suspicion about that... 😂

In Russia people will say "Americans are stupid.", "Americans are lazy.", "Americans only care about themselves.", "Americans only want war.", "Americans are all fat." and on and on. They will find flaws in everything we do and fail to bench mark what we do well. The Chinese on the other hand look at what we do best in American and absorb it. +Hao Frank What people are referring to is the one child policy in China where people are encouraged to not have children. People have always had the impression that infants are executed and there are lots of abortions.
      It's just like a lot of Chinese people probably hear a lot of things about Americans that aren't true, and some of it probably does stick.

      Wei Zhang If it is a policy that encourages one child, then it is a one child policy. What Westerners are likely misinformed about is the Chinese policy on those who have multiple children.
      Also, just because you abide by certain rules today does not mean that the ideas of the One Child Policy were not once true. Remember, China used to be a lot less free than today.

The people are wonderful and I hope that their government continues to loosen restrictions on them so that they can have more freedom and better lives. I would encourage any Americans who enjoy experiencing new cultures, food and people to visit.

Tibetans are still persecuted by the government to this day for protesting. China is a veritable mountain of human rights violations. Come to the US if you want to experience true freedom.

      As long as AMBITION exists there will never be peace and security. This is a finite world with finite resources where not everyone can be #1 (or #1 for very long). That causes conflict, both on the way up and with folks at the very top.
      China sees itself as the rightful ruler of the planet after a series of setbacks in the 20th century. That attitude inevitably leads to conflicts with their neighbors, many of whom have no problem calling on the U.S. to stifle Chinese ambitions.
      So while the people of each country may not feel ill will towards one another, the governments are a whole different story.

    I have known a _hell of a lot_ of Chinese people, and I have _many_ Chinese friends. China is one of my favorite places to travel to. I regard them as Westerners and Americans, frankly. They are so close to us in how they think and behave that it is uncanny. They are friendly, good, loyal, honest and hard-working people. They have a high standard of ethics. They are smart, creative, and constantly trying to learn new things. They hold the same values as we Westerners do. They love their children and their parents, just like we do. They revere wisdom, knowledge, honesty, a strong work ethic, education, a close family, and social stability. Just like we do. Their civilization goes back at least 3,000 years. They were making high quality ceramics, paper, gunpowder, and engaging in art, architecture and medicine when we (Westerners) were living in feudal societies and digging in the ground for grubs to eat. They just have kind of a shitty government. But I have no doubt that, collectively, they will eventually fix that.

    • @rebeccaw5112
      @rebeccaw5112 7 років тому +3

      But we are not Westerners and Americans darling. We are Chinese, Asian, Easterners, or whatever you want to say. And we're proud we have our own culture. I've lived in US for a year and I agreed that Chinese and American are surprisingly kinda similar, especially young people. It's part of the globalization, right?
      But "friendly, good, loyal, honest and hard-working", "smart, creative, and constantly trying to learn new things" are all personalities that human have, "love their children and their parents" are just human nature.
      It's silly to think only Westerners and Americans are "friendly, smart, etc." on the first place. Like if someone else are "good, loyal, etc.", then they must like Westerners. Your tone is like only westerners are good, so other nice people are also should recognized as western people.
      No thanks~ We are not Westerners and don't need Americans think us are. Being a westerner doesn't mean good or proud. It's good to be Chinese. :) Don't need to wash us white. I've been to a lot of countries, both west and east. Basically there're good people and bad people everywhere. Just open your mind.

    • @w67bv2cxm
      @w67bv2cxm 7 років тому +1

      +Rebecca W Well, "darling," I've also been to a lot of countries, and probably some that you have never set foot in, and never will. Try living with a bunch of arabs, pakistanis, afghanis, north africans, and central Asians. That is something that Han Chinese people don't "get" to experience within China because the Chinese government keeps its boot on their necks, and pretty much limits their presence to the backwaters of the western Chinese provinces. After you've tried living in some of the hellholes I mentioned above, you'll see just how close Chinese culture and the Chinese worldview is to western Europe, the Americas, Australia and New Zealand. If you don't already recognize that, then you haven't experienced half as much of the world as you would like to believe you have. Taking a couple of one-week trips to Europe doesn't qualify someone to say they are _well-traveled._ And, although I would agree that there are good and bad people _almost_ everywhere, in the places I mentioned, good people are few and very far between. In those places, bad people are the norm.

    The Chinese-American relationship is THE most important bilateral relationship of the 21st Century. I pray for wisdom, patience, communication, and understanding between our two great nations. Let's both work together for a brighter future for us all.

    • @RicochetForce
      @RicochetForce 8 років тому

      +TheLoyalOfficer
      I don't see cooperation all. The nations are radically different historically, politically, socially, culturally, linguistically, ethnically, etc...
      The only thing that binds the two countries together is commerce, and in this case they're only using each other. There's no love or respect there.
      Unfortunately, history has shown us that nations so different go to war more often than they coexist peacefully.

    • @TheLoyalOfficer
      @TheLoyalOfficer 8 років тому +1

      RicochetForce Go to war? With nuclear weapons? Are you crazy?
      Cooler heads will prevail because they MUST prevail. There is no other choice.
      In terms of those differences, well of course there are linguistic and ethnic differences. But also remember there are millions of Chinese here in the USA. Come visit New York City and go to Chinatown in downtown Manhattan or Flushing, Queens (which we call Flu-Shing, lol) Those Chinese Americans will serve as a bridge between the two countries.
      Also, look at the history of China particularly. Aside from Tibet and possibly Taiwan, they have not acted very aggressively at all in their history.
      Patience and fair negotiations must be the order of the day. War is not an option.

    • @RicochetForce
      @RicochetForce 8 років тому

      I LIVE in NYC and the U.S. having s tiny smattering of Chinese is not going "bridge" the two countries together. You can bet your ass China doesn't give a shit about expats in the U.S. as it's agenda pushes it into clashes with the U.S. in all arenas of international affairs.
      Look at Russia. Decades upon decades of aggression, icy relations, and clashing ambitions.
      I don't trust the "cooler heads" notion whatsoever. People before most wars (like WWI and WWII) thought the war couldn't POSSIBLY happen.
      I don't want a wasteful, destructive war to take place but these two countries are headed on a serious collision course if there isn't a last sea change of attitude and behavior on both sides.

    • @TheLoyalOfficer
      @TheLoyalOfficer 8 років тому

      RicochetForce Yeah I live in NYC too, bro. I would relax. China is not Russia. China is much less retarded than the Russians are. As for war, again, nukes are involved. The notion is insane.

    • @RicochetForce
      @RicochetForce 8 років тому

      Again, people thought the notion of war was insane before WWI. People thought another world war was an impossibility before WWII.
      We have every single one of China's neighbors up at arms about China's increasingly militarized territorial claims of international waters.
      We recently had satellites reveal that Chinese anti-aircraft missile launchers and support vehicles have been erected on their man-made islands in said waters.
      We're going to have a war, and amazingly it's not our insanely aggressive country starting it.

    英文是一偉大的語種,但別忘了中文也是一很偉大的人類語言,在這里只想用中文發一點和平與合作的聲音。
    多數美國人民是不了解中國的,而且政府中太多自私的政客,光對人民說人民愿意聽的,卻沒有去領導人民走向正確的道路。任何一個美國人,只要他去過中國走一圈,那怕只是一小圈,就會徹底明白自己的老舊觀點正確與否,明白把中國當敵人還是當伙伴哪個更好。殺敵一千,自損八百,中華是個善戰但不好戰國家,而且是世界上唯一一個最包容的融合的大民族,這不同于世界上任何一個其它的民族;這些,建國歷史不長的美國是怎么也不會明白的。大國互相制衡是平常的也是應該的,但絕不能對抗,美國人制衡的方向和辦法,全錯了,幾十年來,美國制約中國的成效,應該不到兩成,其中一例資助反中的中文媒體就是一個小小失敗的例子;將來的十年,將是美國制衡中國的最后十年,唯一機會,如果再走錯再搞軍事對抗,美國將從此走向沒落;不想分析太深,中國已經懂得制衡美國的路子了,希望美國也有正確的制衡而非對抗的方向。

    • @NangongReng1973
      @NangongReng1973 7 років тому

      Briefly, it is like that . Since ancient times, a lot of Chinese has been escaping to South east Asia, legally and illegally due to famines, wars, turmoil in China. Gradually, these Chinese blended in with natives. But the Chinese population which consists a small percentage in these ASEAN ctries, except Singapore, controlled much of the economy of these ctries. Overtime, this aroused hatred and jealousy among the indigenous groups. Up to now, the Chinese , for e.g. In Thailand cannot use Chinese names.I West, it's a recent event. More and more Chinese were starting to flock to the west, buying up their properties or others. Even Chinese football clubs which is of mediocre level, started to buy up high level players from Europe, causing a disruption in the transfer mkt and a furore in European fans.

      @NangongReng1973 7 років тому

      Snowii It's not like that they are powerful and rich and people hated them. It's not so simple. It's a mixture of love-hate-envy- jealousy feeling which built up overtime. Even the Chinese in Hongkong dislike the mainlanders because they disrupt the daily life of Hongkongers in many instances.One of them are the mainlanders bought so many cartons of baby milk powder that it ran out of stock and the local ppl do not like that or the unruly conduct of a portion of Chinese tourists that caused a conflict with the locals... Such things.

      If not positive, how come there are so many Chinese students coming to US for study. At first, I thought American people might knew China better than Chinese people knew US, because people here are more well educated and there is no censorship in medias or internet. Well, it turned out some people's thoughts on China still stayed in 1990s, or even 1940s. Many used-to-be facts were no longer existent in China years ago. That's fine, with increasing civil exchanges, I believe Americans will see a more and more real China.

    In younger demographics, the general view on the US is very positive, thanks to strong cultural influences like Pop culture, Hollywood movies and whatnot. The main grudge about US mainly focuses on the US trying to contain China by eliciting regional influences, but us Chinese are very realistic, we fully understand the implications of International Geopolitics, just like the US, the sentiment is mutual in a way. China and US are, after all, the only big players that matter in the 21st century, we have to learn to understand and work with each other.

We have had to have a tight grip on the world since then. Just think about it. There are many countries that I'm pretty sure would still be going after world dominance right now if America relaxed it's Naval grip.

      China is alright but has backwards beliefs and doesn't wanna come into the modern world with them. Example being how they think their martial arts are superior fighting styles in everyway and refuse to believe that MMA can truly beat it cause of how barbaric it is. Even when evidence and real fight is shown that shows a amatuer MMA student fights a Thai chi master and the student destroys the master they still are so ignorant to anything that isnt traditional Chinese they refuse to accept it. Many more examples that's just one. The government has spent many years brainwashing them into thinking that everything Chinese is better and always has been. The government has even started to adapt their education around this to program kindergarten age kids. Cause the younger you are when you start learning something the harder it is to break you free of that learning. They want their people to distrust and look down on anything not Chinese. You can find many articles and videos on these things the government is doing. Luckily their are still groups that speak out against it. But it's dangerous. As we have seen with Hong Kong protests, China doesn't take kindly to being spoken against.
