Safer unless you're a cat or a dog. Then you will likely face a death just as gruesome as from any Mexican drug cartel slaughtering the rivals. In China animals are just toys who are tortured for food or for "fun".

GracetoThee The US has around 300 million people with some regional differences but all 50 states quite similar with local, state and federal laws. On the other China has one billion more people. So, trying to compare countries is like apples vs. oranges. China is a conglomeration of tremendous diversity with around fifty different ethnic groups and dozens of languages and dialects. Unless an American does an intense study of how China is governed it is foolish to automatically criticize and condemn the PRC Central Committee. It will be a real challenge to continue to survive with another culture so different than ours. Can there be peaceful coexistence knowing they do not accept individual liberties, basic human rights and a populace that has the power to elect and change their leaders? There are many reasons to be optimistic based on the reality of mutually assured destruction. Like one of our Presidents once said, Speak softly but carry a big stick”. Trump got it right saying that China is NOT or enemy but our competitors in a world that is quickly becoming unsustainable in so many ways.

Native Chinese here. Lived in the US for four months and now study in the UK. A lot of people here asked me whether or not I feel greater freedom in the UK, but sadly my answer is no and I plan to go back to China after I graduate. Indeed, I don’t feel freer living in the UK and more frequent I find live back in China is much more convenient because of mobile payment system and great infrastructure. And European people sometimes were awed by the fact that weed is strictly prohibited in China and felt sorry for Chinese who was not able to use it… really…don’t be…we trust our government and don’t feel it is a bad thing that detrimental things are prohibited by the government. But I have to admit that Chinese society is much more competitive than those of most other countries.

If you live in any Asian country, let them know you want to do an interview in a non traditional place (i.e., countryside of Mongolia). Do not expect to receive diverse answers though. What it's like living in china?
I lived there for 5 years (city in northern China) and I can tell you this:
    1. Housing is expensive! Rent for apartment with 2 bedrooms in decent neighborhood (not in international environment where expats live) can easily reach more than 6K RMB per month
    2. Not much freedom in the internet. Even paid VPN is often getting blocked. However I can access many videos which is unavailable on UA-cam for free on Youku and Sohu, like Sherlock series.
    3. Chinese manners...... Well as far as I experienced it, the older generations is generally the ones who lack courtesy. Cutting the lines, spatting in public, talk loudly etc
    4. Hygiene! I hardly find any clean public toilet there (clean=no smell, no residue), even public toilet at hotels and malls (Carrefour is the worst!)
    5. Work ethics. I admire their attitude towards work and study. They take things seriously and work diligently. This applies to most of Chinese, from children to adults (Well the kids have long hours of school)
Well it's not a bad experience though..

I think it's the other way around, Chinese media portrayal of the US and the west in general is very positive, hence you get these people who has never lived abroad praising those countries, the only negative aspect about the west in Chinese media are about their politically antagonizing attitude towards China. So many Chinese don't like the government of the west, but are rather receptive of their people.
also censorship is less of a barrier than language barrier, vpn is extremely easy to use, and if your browsing experience only has one simple additional step of using VPN then. that's not even censorship.
the fire wall is there because the Chinese government don't want the anti-China news to reach critical mass in China, occasional curiosities don't bother the government.
English language news sites can be browsed without vpn (although I've tried it around 3 years ago)

This is the biggest developing country, developing means a lot of things still need to improve. Currently China has just sort of get rid of poverty, but there is still a very long way to go to fully improve everything from public services to the majority of people’s manners in Chinese society. When people are suffering poverty, all their attentions are on how to improve the economic but will overlook a lot of things which are important but not as important as keep themselves alive, the Chinese society has just started to improve these other things recently. For a small country which has smaller map and only less than a million of population, making improvements can be easy and fast. But in a country this big with various kinds of people it could be hard and slow.

it depends on your options. China is a great idea but it certainly isn't the best idea. There are other places but some of these may be inconvenient, far from home, or hard to get access to their top quality education (let's face it all countries have a higher and lower end of education level)

When American citizens realize how much they have in common with people in other countries, we may be able to develop a generation that does not believe in wars and a generation that appreciates others differences.

I’m living in Canada where I get to enjoy those banned sites in China, but tbh when I go back to my hometown I don’t really miss Google, Facebook or UA-cam. You still get to enjoy the same entertainments, but with Chinese websites. And with my close friends on Fb I can still contact them via Wechat. That’s why some Chinese people don’t mind the firewall because it’s not that you’re deprived of those websites, it’s just that you don’t need them. Like American people don’t need Weibo, Chinese people don’t need facebook. Although it’s another thing for censorship of international media and information.

the translation on the girl at 3:42 is wrong. she never said she thought they were attractive, she said “那些小哥哥小姐姐比较喜欢” which means basically “i like the brothers/sisters there. no where did she say they were attractive or that she liked the guys. also if you are attacking her do not attack her appearance because that’s not making you a good person. i believe her response isn’t that deep and you guys shouldn’t take it that seriously, i think it is like if she has the opportunity to live anywhere without consequence or worry that is where she would live. for example if i could live anywhere, i would go back to china however i know that that will never happen because i am accustomed to american culture now and would be more out of place than at home. anyways a lot of the translations here aren’t correct, like when the questions ask about foreign countries the translation always just writes the USA however they never mention the usa, they mention different countries/overseas

The only thing i want you to know is that China has such a huge population. Thus, it owns the world nearly 2/7 population. The pencetage of people who are rude might be the same as other countries. China is still a developing country. Back then to 10 years ago, our people could not even affort to eat, needless to say that the older generations did not receive any education at all. Owning to these two factors, it is understandable that they don't have good manners. I am sure if other developing counties have such a big population like us, you guys are gonna biased against them, instead of China.
