INTJ here and saw the weird behaviors in a "friend". It's unlike normal people for sure. I had a good chunk off time as a friend observing this until they became irritable towards me.
Word. It was covid and had nothing better to do so played along all the way. She eventually ran to the hills literally, in another state with her dad as she got so frustrated with the fact that I wasnt buying anything she was selling. Love bombimg, playing victim, gaslighting, threats, blames, fights, cops, took two years altogether. Drove her nuts that she couldnt have any control over me yet she never left. She made sure everyone got involved including my family and friends, tried to turn everyone against me. Almost got kicked out my apartment, went to jail twice so did she, and all the craziest drama in between. Wouldnt want it again but it was a crazy experience and i Still get msgs that everything was my fault. In the end its still sad because even though they are being divious they are still in pain and dont know why.

Same for me. I divorced him 22 years ago. Unfortunately daughter behaves covert like him. I gave up on trying to show her that love matters. She thinks that showing her love is a weakness I have....it feels like she only wants to behave like her dad. I can't spend the rest of my life with their behavior. This video describes my ‘best friend’s’ behavior 100%. Spot on. After 2 (!) decades I can finally see what is behind the covert manipulative remarks, the passive aggressiveness, projecting her issues on me that I now refuse to take on, the lack of respect for others, the judging and inability to accept that each person owns their own life and their own choices, the disdain, the belittleling, the micro-aggressions, the unspoken expectations, all in a very subtle, covert manner. You can feel it physically, my body told me something is off, but it’s too difficult to grasp in that very moment. O, and the envy, the status-thinking: other people cannot get or experience something good or nice before she does. That smirky grin that o so quickly flashes up whenever you experience some bad things. I thought I imagined it all. Turns out: I didn’t. 😢

Thank you for this powerful and moving video!!! I recently had an experience with a co-worker where they had tried to take ownership of a project I was doing in a team meeting. I confronted them on it in private & they were unable to empathize or see where I was coming from. Essentially their response was “We are on the same team, and I will do what I want to do”. I realized that the conversation was a waste of time. I ended it and stated “Thanks for talking, in the future communicate with me.” A few minutes later I saw them at their desk shaking with their head down, like they were having a panic attack. The next morning they scheduled multiple meetings with me, and I knew that this was an attempt to re-assert their control. At that point in time I saw them in their true form, and I realized that it was deeper than me. Additionally, they were highly frustrated that they could not control me. Never let your guard down! Keep your head up!

Brilliant 👏👏👏 it just perfectly described my ex-best friend 🙄 she always has been trying so hard to find anything, ANYTHING that she could point out as “I am better then you”. When she couldnt find anything, she started to be abusive and argumentative like crazy. Lots of projection, lots of manipulation. I wasted so much time and effort on her, as I thought she was just an unloved child and needed only some acceptance and patience to calm down and be a good, caring person… silly me. I had reconnected with a former high school classmate that I hadn't seen in nearly 50 years. She claims she had a crush on me in HS. (I didn't know that..!) I have a female ‘frenemy’ who I supported a LOT through her abusive relationships only for her to turn around and start abusing me, competing with me so tragically and always in a way that one ups me and trying to make me think and feel I’m not doing good enough or not as good as her at everything!! Clearly she is jealous but it’s gotten so tiresome all the shaming and minimising of my experiences that I’ve had to distance myself from her the last four years and these questions you mentioned are so relevant! She is always calling the men in her life narcissists and narcissist this and narcissist that and really she has no real compassion and empathy and thinks sympathy is empathy! She used to be a stripper so she’s used to controlling men! Every interaction I’ve had with her has been basically themed around making me feel like I’m not as good as her at whatever I say to her. Her retorts are always designed to make me feel shame or Like shit that feeds her ego at my expense. She’s a shit person basically and yes she always has to try get me to be more like her. Her ego is out of control basically but she doesn’t realise I’m very aware and generally can question and think about what people tell me and choose to not take it on or see through it! She’s always partying and thinks she has no emotional baggage, taking drugs and poo poos therapy! She’s very popular and I’m not and don’t care and that just eats her up! She wants to be like me but I don’t want to be like her and she want me to be 😅

I’ve been 2 years of this kind of person the only I know is he had PTSD but the first he is fine and so romantic and he tells some story to me about him, being abused when he was young but still, I’d thought it’s really not serious effect to him, one I observe to him he wants me to always around him everything is ok then when I said I have to see my family he doesn’t like it and start I see his bad behavior towards to other people how he speaks very judgmental and entitled I still ignore it because of love and turn to me the horrible shit, insult, monk, physically abused he trying to control me but I always refused that’s why we end up fighting! It was so traumatic and painful when I told him please leave I can’t deal with you anymore I love him but I can't deal with all the bad behavior and abuse, I m still working on my healing path

This video has been an eye-opener for me. I'm not saying this video has helped diagnosed someone, but I'm seeing more and more of these traits in family members and colleagues. As someone who's spent years discovering myself and knowing who I am, being around someone who has NPD traits is actually quite disgusting and not pitiful, and they're never worth my breath and mind.

Stephanie is right about the narcissist being like a spoiled child. Maybe they have been neglected, when they were a child. Or it could have been the other way around.
One of my ex-friend is covert, unlike the typical type, she did it in a calming nice way. She always appears to be serious and sober(showing people how professional and intelligent she is) and always put herself above others so you can see she likes to give advice to others ( being a mentor). When i offered her that i could be a good listener when her husband cheated on her, she refused and said she could feel better by reading a book… Lol. In other words, she likes to see others’ weakness but won’t let others to see hers. And finally she could turn very nasty if she thinks she get control on you and you don’t keep up with her expectations. Since she is the mentor if anything goes wrong it’s your fault. Btw, her husband is one of the most cowardly man I’ve ever met which is very rare in this culture. Sadly, the narcissists are always attached to nice patient people who will take their shit. I would feel empathetic if they don’t hurt others. It’s a shame on them.

We need to be careful not to paint everyone we meet with the same brush..we are all narrcistic to a point..its a form of self-preservation..we look out for our own welfare.. just because a person protects them self or doesn't tell you everything about their life doesn't necessarily mean they're a covert narrcistist..

He victimized her just like Stockholm Syndrome to the point she was no longer the great wonderful woman I thought I married. She bailed out to be with her adulterous ex, who also left her childless. Oddly, she died of a brain aneurysm a year later. No one won anything.. It took me years to let go of the hate I had for him. ........I finally did as I listened to Charles Stanley explain how to let it go and surrender to the Love of Christ. This was ex, he loves attention and validation. Social media is his biggest plant form, his new supply is supporting that right now, allowing all the attention. Only in time that’s where I found all the cheating and inappropriate videos and sex texting. His new supply is in for a great adventure 🤣. Thank God he Desecrated me, his new supply can have all his abandonment issues, PTSD issues, cheating issues, addicted to porn issues, physical abuse , and mental issues. The sad part he has 3 little kids that live with him and have seen and witness all he did to me. I hope she is also ready for the yelling and become a good stepmom.
They can''t in any form shape or way take responsibility for their lives. They mismanage their Money and even when they know they have to "Pay" Bills ie Credit Card, Bank Service Charges etc they "forget", and get upset when Money is taken out of their Account. They can't live in the "Real" World because it's too hard.
Once narcissist mothers become elderly and are no longer able to be the center of attention they will use their daughters to carry out her narcissist behavior.

After 2 (!) decades I can finally see what is behind the covert manipulative remarks, the passive aggressiveness, projecting her issues on me that I now refuse to take on, the lack of respect for others, the judging and inability to accept that each person owns their own life and their own choices, the disdain, the belittleling, the micro-aggressions, the unspoken expectations, all in a very subtle, covert manner. You can feel it physically, my body told me something is off, but it’s too difficult to grasp in that very moment. O, and the envy, the status-thinking: other people cannot get or experience something good or nice before she does. That smirky grin that o so quickly flashes up whenever you experience some bad things. I thought I imagined it all. Turns out: I didn’t. 😢

Thank you for this powerful and moving video!!! I recently had an experience with a co-worker where they had tried to take ownership of a project I was doing in a team meeting. I confronted them on it in private & they were unable to empathize or see where I was coming from. Essentially their response was “We are on the same team, and I will do what I want to do”. I realized that the conversation was a waste of time. I ended it and stated “Thanks for talking, in the future communicate with me.”
A few minutes later I saw them at their desk shaking with their head down, like they were having a panic attack. The next morning they scheduled multiple meetings with me, and I knew that this was an attempt to re-assert their control. At that point in time I saw them in their true form, and I realized that it was deeper than me. Additionally, they were highly frustrated that they could not control me. Never let your guard down! Keep your head up!

Brilliant 👏👏👏 it just perfectly described my ex-best friend 🙄 she always has been trying so hard to find anything, ANYTHING that she could point out as “I am better then you”.
When she couldnt find anything, she started to be abusive and argumentative like crazy.

I had reconnected with a former high school classmate that I hadn't seen in nearly 50 years. She claims she had a crush on me in HS. (I didn't know that..!) She love bombed me for nearly 5 months . showering me with gifts, cards and daily personal hello videos ( have great day my love...! stuff) . We had/have a long distance relationship. I was previously married for 38 years and went thru divorce last year (the last three years of my marriage were toxic...!) So when this one came along I took it all ,HOOK LINE and SINKER...! Only to have my heart ripped from my body when the discard phase hit. She Ghosted me and sent an email stating the reasons we couldn't be a couple...! I have a female ‘frenemy’ who I supported a LOT through her abusive relationships only for her to turn around and start abusing me, competing with me so tragically and always in a way that one ups me and trying to make me think and feel I’m not doing good enough or not as good as her at everything!! Clearly she is jealous but it’s gotten so tiresome all the shaming and minimising of my experiences that I’ve had to distance myself from her the last four years and these questions you mentioned are so relevant!
She is always calling the men in her life narcissists and narcissist this and narcissist that and really she has no real compassion and empathy and thinks sympathy is empathy!
She used to be a stripper so she’s used to controlling men! Every interaction I’ve had with her has been basically themed around making me feel like I’m not as good as her at whatever I say to her.

Like shit that feeds her ego at my expense.
She’s a shit person basically and yes she always has to try get me to be more like her. Her ego is out of control basically but she doesn’t realise I’m very aware and generally can question and think about what people tell me and choose to not take it on or see through it!
She’s always partying and thinks she has no emotional baggage, taking drugs and poo poos therapy! She’s very popular and I’m not and don’t care and that just eats her up!
She wants to be like me but I don’t want to be like her and she want me to be 😅

I’ve been 2 years of this kind of person the only I know is he had PTSD but the first he is fine and so romantic and he tells some story to me about him, being abused when he was young but still, I’d thought it’s really not serious effect to him, one I observe to him he wants me to always around him everything is ok then when I said I have to see my family he doesn’t like it and start I see his bad behavior towards to other people how he speaks very judgmental and entitled I still ignore it because of love and turn to me the horrible shit, insult, monk, physically abused he trying to control me but I always refused that’s why we end up fighting! It was so traumatic and painful when I told him please leave I can’t deal with you anymore I love him but I can't deal with all the bad behavior and abuse, I m still working on my healing path

This video has been an eye-opener for me. I'm not saying this video has helped diagnosed someone, but I'm seeing more and more of these traits in family members and colleagues. At first I thought my ex was a DA, but the more I see your videos, he seems more like a narc.
Stephanie is right about the narcissist being like a spoiled child. Maybe they have been neglected, when they were a child. Or it could have been the other way around.
One of my ex-friend is covert, unlike the typical type, she did it in a calming nice way. She always appears to be serious and sober(showing people how professional and intelligent she is) and always put herself above others so you can see she likes to give advice to others ( being a mentor).
When i offered her that i could be a good listener when her husband cheated on her, she refused and said she could feel better by reading a book… Lol.
In other words, she likes to see others’ weakness but won’t let others to see hers. And finally she could turn very nasty if she thinks she get control on you and you don’t keep up with her expectations. Since she is the mentor if anything goes wrong it’s your fault.
Btw, her husband is one of the most cowardly man I’ve ever met which is very rare in this culture.
Sadly, the narcissists are always attached to nice patient people who will take their shit.
I would feel empathetic if they don’t hurt others. It’s a shame on them.

too late I discovered the effects of the narcissistic )^*%^&^ that was once married to my now ex wife. He victimized her just like Stockholm Syndrome to the point she was no longer the great wonderful woman I thought I married. She bailed out to be with her adulterous ex, who also left her childless. Oddly, she died of a brain aneurysm a year later. No one won anything.. It took me years to let go of the hate I had for him. ........I finally did as I listened to Charles Stanley explain how to let it go and surrender to the Love of Christ.
