“The trouble is, you think you have time” A very powerful thought to keep in mind. The better you manage your time, the more control you have over the results you get. It’s not necessarily fun, but then again, neither is not achieving your goals
I'm 20 years old and have been struggling to find ways to feel a sense of urgency in my life. I found that journaling to make a recap of my life every night works really well. I'd imagine that Sunsama works pretty well too. Great video Captain!
I do this - quarterly planning, inspired by "The 12 Week Year". You can do 4 x 12 Week Years in a calendar year, with a week "off" between each one to review the previous "year" and plan the next one. I find it very effective, although I'm only coming to the end of my second "year" now. I've found that the goals I set were way too big, even though I only had three of them. I could have made a whole "year" out of each one of them! So, I'm learning all the time, but it is definitely a more effective way of working than annually/monthly. I like a weekly review anyway, and having a 12 Week Year plan that splits into 12 weeks just seems to keep me more focused. I'm sure I'm getting more done. Great video, Nikhil. Thank you! Hi to Thomas! :-D Glad to hear you're sleeping - it is the single most important thing anyone can do to take care of their health - and it's free! Sorry about the pain, but you're going to be in even better shape before long, hang in there!
The afternoon slump has been killing me lately then by the time the family gets home at 5:30 I’m super motivated and into my work again. It’s nice how working remote makes it possible to break up your day. The a roll in this video looks different, new settings, lighting? It looks good.
@@invictuz4803 yeah that’s kind of my point, the timing sucks. I wish I didn’t have that mid day slump and could always power through. Meetings from 8am to 5pm is a taxing way to work. Family time is very important to me. So in most cases I put the computer down when the kids gets home. I try to work on work if / when they are focused on other things or after they get to bed.
@@invictuz4803 my point is more that WFH (which was brought on by Covid) allows me to put in my 8 hours inside and outside of core hours. I try my best not to exceed my 8 unless it’s needed so that yeah I have a personal and family life ❤️❤️❤️
@@TuckerPearce Ah I see. Totally agree, being able to take an hour or two break in the afternoon to recharge is so good for overall productivity. The old 9-5pm is so outdated and inefficient, more tech companies are starting to realize that.
The mid-day crash is mostly the result of an insulin spike from your lunch. Try switching to a low/no-carbohydrate meal and not eating a huge amount and see if it helps.

I did this by 'accident' because of exactly the mindset shift, and it has done wonders. You see quicker results because you're mind is not so focused on the results, and it just propels you forward and forward.
Even though I'm retired and my day planning is very random and much slower than what you've described here, I can still get some value out of this video. Being able to do things that are outside our comfort zone can be more rewarding, in part, because it's something we've chosen to try or do rather than being compelled or coerced into doing it.
That "i am a robot" mindset honestly helps so much in preventing overthinking. It just kind of helps you shut down and just focus completely on a task without worrying about the little stuff that doesn't matter.
When it comes to boxing one person I look to is Bruce lee, although he wasn’t a boxer himself he studied it endlessly.
