Not gonna lie most people who watch this channel don't get the chance to implement half the stuff that's covered in these videos, but they really are a good way to kick start that work ethic.
"Because other people are fools, must you be so too?" ~ Marcus Aurelius Just because the world is caught up in instant gratification, doesn't mean you have to be. I believe in you and your goals my friend, keep going 💙
Love how Stoicism overlaps so much with yogic philosophy. Ultimately, they’re different paths to the same thing: becoming aware of Self, what drives you, and how to change unhelpful patterns. It all starts with that self-awareness and deciding what you’re going to do with it. Thanks for sharing!
I feel this is not a self help channel anymore, it's like shared struggle channel. As, one might feel at the end of every video Sinbad had figured it out, and then we continue with another video on how to deal with life. Not saying it's bad for channel, on the contrary I feel it's great what you're doing man. A form of reminder of our own mortality and we are all here to give our best to what we value :)
i started taking notes while watching your videos and it had SUCH a profound impact on me...anytime you upload stuff like this ill watch slow and take notes from now on...this is definitely something i should have tried a LOT sooner. Greatness is coming
Definitely needed this advice right now. In the thick of the semester and my procrastination has been through the roof due to my bad habits of media intake
Your videos are so inspiring, your videos inspired me to get my shit together at 20. I started nofap, working out, meditating, reading, just living my best life so thank you 🙏🏼
Time management is a skill that everyone needs to hone, when you truly realize how much value an hour is worth. You'll want to do as much as you can with your life
this was a great video and your 3 tips really resonate, especially stick, I have my own version in my head and he has helped me more than I could possibly explain. Keep up the great content your videos just keep getting better
Been on NoFap since Oct 1 and I have definitely seen a clear increase in my concentration. I have now applied for a paid job and volunteering. I am definitely getting more urges now but I am trying to transmute that energy into different outlets such as going for a jog, meditation and study. Thanks Captain Sinbad for giving me the confidence to start as it has greatly improved my confidence! Best regards, Ben.
Hey man, loved the video! I’m terrible at time management. Here’s a neat thing, your pictures in the background, if you remove the glass you won’t see the reflection of your lights 🤌🏻💡
3:33 Lmao I used to do this a year ago when I saw 'The Shining'. Guess I will jump back in the same concept except my imaginary friend will be named 'Nikhil' who with his stoic energy will push me to get things done XD
I've learned that motivation for me comes starting the activity not before so I give myself the two minute rule for example if I feel like I don't wanna workout I just go ahead and put my workout clothes on and by the time I'm dressed I'm motivated to start my workout. I also deleted social media which has opened up a whole chunk of my day that I use to read or do random chores or focus on a hobby.
I remember first watching your videos.. i was like man this dude finnesed the art of storytelling/informing and being funny at the same time but actually presenting it in a real video format that is just tooooo smooth. fucken legit man. straight dream to create content like this, a1
1. Practice delayed gratification 2. Utilize your time best my narrowing your focus “many pursue no fixed goal, but are tosssed about in ever-changing designs by a fickleness which is shifting, inconstant, and never satisfied with itself. “3. Time is money
Yes. A good rule of thumb is to spend energy and resources where you know it will bring an actual ROI to your life. That is what is most rewarding, too. Usually that means doing the hard stuff that we don’t feel like doing (that resistance dissapears when we start the activity, in my experience. There’s only resistance prior to the work.) However I don’t believe in micromanaging oneself, at least that’s not for me. Makes me feel like a slave/prisoner. Creativeness and great ideas can come from being understimulated and being free. Beware the barrenness of a busy life. -Socrates Stay Based
I think at this point thinking about all this stuff, trying to "min max" your life so much is actually detremental at this point. Organizing your life is useful, but to certain degree.
I have to admit... Im surprised your audience isnt bigger considering how good your vids are...guess I'll have to share on facebook to give you a bump 😎
A main reason Seneca reads more plainly than Marcus Aurelius and Epictetus is that Seneca wrote in Latin, while the others wrote in Greek. Epictetus himself was Greek, and for Marcus, the norm at the time was for Roman elites to use Greek rather than Latin, since it was considered more sophisticated. Latin as a language flows more plainly than Greek does, and it also translates more smoothly to English.
I had been interested in knowing the philosophies of Seneca and also about Stoicism and at the same time I also somewhere needed to manage my time. Our Captain Sinbad Blended these two things together and made this masterpiece. Thank you 🙂❤️
Great content, as always! What book do you recommend for someone who wants to start reading philosophy books, such as those you talked about in the video?
I really love the video and ideas you put out. I'm just curious about having the energy to use all of your time to wisely. Right now I'm working a part time job as a concessionist and going to the gym 5 times a week. The gym I find productive but outside of these two things I feel so tired and drained to purse any goals that will better my life. I feel stuck in this loop only having enough energy to barely get through the week. I really want to self study computer stuff so I can eventually get better jobs but any time I have free time I see myself brain dead and exhausted
Hey Nikhil, Great video, loved it. One thing that I think could be better would be using some other database rather than statisica. Our professor has often criticized it for being unreliable.
The thing with me is that I just have no ambition. Sure I have goals, like buying a house but there’s nothing that I truly want to do with my life. I feel jealous of people who find a calling. I just drift aimlessly through life.
time is invaluable, it's greater than money because when people are sick they are willing to spend money just to extend their life aka time on earth, therefore time is not money, time > money
Delaying gratification is actually great. But the same voice that tells me this is the right thing to do, avoiding procrastination at all costs, or avoiding postponing what has to be done for the sake of being extremely productive and not wasting life, just because I don't feel like doing it, also tells me that this may be very unhealthy at times.
About the imaginary friend: Everybody has one, and it's called a conscience, but we so often give way to quick pleasures and instant gratification, that this voice it's weak and drowned by our actions. Meditation daily, pause before you act and a little bit of spirituality, will develop the headspace for the conscience to be louder. Edit: typo

This resonates so deeply with me.
Because it's true. Sufferings are hardships thriving from a ficticious mind.
