It's maybe their best arranged/produced song ever (I don't necessarily mean the best song they ever wrote, just that they were at the peak of their craft in the studio for A Moon Shaped Pool). Decks Dark is a kaleidoscopic soundscape of ethereal beauty that doesn't even sound like it came from individual instruments. They can't do that live unless they take the backing orchestra with them on tour.
"A Moon Shaped Pool" for Radiohead is like what "Automatic for the People" was for R.E.M - a late career masterpiece from a band with an already long history of excellence.
I'm amazed by his quick pedal work. He's double tapping the pedal that makes the "whack" sound, turning it on and off for a single beat, before going back to normal. Dude is skilled.
To be fair to Ed I think 99% of being a soundscape guy is doing homework literally all day every day, and then 1% getting on stage and looking like you contribute nothing.

I personally dont like music videos, i feel like it limits the interpretation of the music alone. Whenever there is a music video i like to hear the son alone first then i only see the music video if the song was “meh”
The second half of this song, where the tempo & tone change, just hits me like a ton of bricks. They hit a groove I feel deep but can't quite explain. This song is is almost like 2 in one, or some kind of extended intro/ extended outro experiment. it's fantastic & works beautifully

Every time I hear it, I am drawn into a parallel emotional world that completely separates me from the reality around me. This may be because I have had the darkness come into my life, it was loud, I was helpless and it was not a laugh. Then I listen to Weird Fishes, think of my beautiful, and all is good.

This masterpiece continues the space narrative on 'A Moon Shaped Pool.' Thom uses metaphors of a UFO and extraterrestrial subject matter in order to portray the questions and the darkness surrounding humanity with such downplayed eloquence. The message of realization is captured on a higher level of awareness by the searing guitar of Johnny Greenwood, cracking the "wake up" inside of us all.
It always messes me up whenever I see someone commenting with that thumbnail. My brain always has to do a double take and make sure I didn't already comment on the video and have completely forgotten about it
Radio Head take their rightful place in the pantheon of English musical geniuses. They are the most innovative and prolific band since Pink Floyd. Greatness is a much overused term… but Radio Head are truly great.
You're a lucky person to enjoy it live. I cry listening in my room so who knows what would happen if I was there live. Lol. But i went back to that time stamp you mentioned and everyone was singing at that moment. It's honest-to-god the best part in the song!!!! So besutiful it could bring any person to tears who really likes it!
I've been at loads of concerts and festivals where I've been having a little cry and doing my best to hide it in the crowd. lol The first time I saw Radiohead play Scatterbrain I was in floods. lol
Radiohead live performances don't feel like other bands live performances at all. In almost every live show I've seen or been to, the crowd is constantly cheering and chanting along with the song, or at least making some kind of noise. But here, everyone seems deeply aware of how personal this music is, and they are in awe. Truly special.
I had no idea his voice was like this or their music was like this... I heard early stuff, but didn't pay much attention... I'm watching ozark... and the music and his voice just hit my heart for some reason...
this man still sounds like an angel after all these years. wonder how he can still hit the high notes. i mean seriously, he still sounds like a teenager. (in a good way) it amazes me.
At this point, pretty hard to argue that Radiohead isn't the most talented act to come around in 2 decades. Purely subjective and I don't want to argue with anybody, but jeez these guys are genius.

I've been thinking about an "In the basement", since the others blew me away. Love those.
I heard the track before Ozark, but hearing it on Ozark gave me chills - it's one of my favourite tracks on the album & possibly of all time.
Been listening to this album since release. Can't stop. Definitely my favourite this year. Right up there with Kid A and In Rainbows.
