I used to watch this as a kid when I was in kindergarten. It never appealed to me much, but I think that was because of my young age, and I was already a Sesame Street kid. I do recall that the show was VERY colorful, some of the creatures were kind of scary, and that I enjoyed the cartoons. I can't believe that they are mostly all gone!
The big issue is that this show was not well preserved. Outside of these uploaded kinescopes, there are only three known copies of Curiosity Shop episodes, none publicly available. As such, there are at least thirteen episodes of the show that are no longer known to exist.
Interesting how much liberties were taken in adapting the "Professor Balthazar" shorts for this series. Amusingly, naming the place Bosnia kinda made me laugh given these were technically made in present-day Croatia.
@@deanshavit5711 There are two black and white kinescopes (including this one) and a partial color videotaped version of one of those episodes, a promo and at least one excerpt.
My favorite episode of Curiosity Shop was the Halloween episode called "Where Do You Go to Get Out of a Scare?" with Vincent Price as a guest star and Master of Scaremonies. Do you have a kinescope copy of that episode? I would like to see it again because it inspired a scary dream that I had about Vincent Price on January 9, 1973, hours after I saw him on a Merv Griffin show that afternoon. The dream went like this; I dreamed that Vincent Price and I were in a Haunted house setting just like the Curiosity Shop was redressed for Halloween. I stood at the left of the black armchair he was sitting in. He said something that I can't quite recall, like some kind of magic incantation, then the setting became totally dark and gave me quite a scare. Then he went into his now-famous evil laugh like he didn't even know that I was there with him. I got panicky and started to cry and begged him to bring light back into the setting and he did. I told him all about myself and my cataract surgeries on both eyes and he became sympathetic with me. I started to leave the setting, then he called me back to the armchair he was sitting in. I returned to the left side of the armchair and he gave me a kiss on the right cheek and said goodbye to me as if what I told him about myself broke his heart, and I left the setting after that. I don't remember any darkness in that particular episode of Curiosity Shop, but I would like to see that episode of it again if there is a kinescope of it available, because I became a fan of Vincent Price and had a crush on him too, from late 1973 to mid-1978.
16:57 always my favorite episode of this show
The whole bit with Oogle was like, "Hey, Mary Poppins, eat your heart out!"

Love this show . Pamelyn Ferdin was looking for episodes of this show. They need to release to DVD.

Crédits remix
Were there any other episodes of the 65-episode cartoon called "Paddy the Pelican" that you have
Are there any more Curiosity Shop episodes?
I read that all except the two on UA-cam were destroyed. Such a shame. Probably the most ambitious show for young people ever.
