@@CitrusThings Sorry, the new Disney animation, though technically pleasing, lacks imagination and heart...just like Disneyland itself and all branches therein. Just look at Broadway. Daffy has and always will be my absolute favorite. I also love the hunting trilogy. I also vaguely remember him teaming up with Buggs in one episode where they find a cave full of treasure and Daffy was swimming in all the gold. And of course Duck Dodgers was the best thing on tv at the time.
For me, best Daffy Duck's personality is one under McKimson direction. I have a lot of favorite shorts from different authors, even from Chuck Jones, wich inspiration of Daffy I don't really like. Most interesting part of the character is that every animator/director gave Daffy something new, that makes him complex person, more live and close to real people. Also I really love Daffy's character in "New Looney Tunes", when authors returned to classic zany Bob Clampett's "little black duck", but kept something from other directors. Maybe for making Daffy better you need just keep him away from Bugs and don't make him jealous and toxic.
I recently watched the entire Looney Tunes Show series for the sake of nostalgia, but I actually found it to be genuinely good and more entertaining than a lot of the original cartoons. I'd like for something similar to that to be made!
Wow, thanks for this one- Daffy has been my favorite for ages now. Clampett, Avery, and the recent Looney Tunes Show were some of my favorite iterations.
13:04 - Funny you say that cause in Space Jam, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, the Bugs and Daffy Show (a marathon collection of Bug and Daffy shorts) on Cartoon Network, Duck vs Rabbit, and especially the Cartoon Network 20th Anniversary commercial they still make fun of the rivalry between Bug and Daffy with the former getting standing ovation and applause while the latter getting the "short end of the stick" and no applause. Even when Bugs ask the cartoon characters about their "favorite Daffy Duck Cartoon" when they were taking a picture most of them respond being in disgust or remained silent. When Bugs mentioned "favorite Bugs Bunny Cartoon" they responded in a smile.
Nice piece. One of my favorite Daffy Duck appearances is in "Book Revue," where he sings "Nothing could be feener than to be in Caroleena in the morning..."
Oh brother this is the best yet, and for your information buster Daffy has changed phenomenally over the years. WOO-HOO! Sorry about that, my inner Daffy came out at the start. Anyway, nice going rabbi- erm.. mean sir.
"Whoohohhoohhoo!"-favorite Daffy's sentence as well as " You're despicable!". My favorite Looney Tunes characters. Otherwise I like him and as Duck Dodgers, which is really underrated cartoon. Imagine the fight of Duck Dodgers and the Duck Avenger (Donald Duck's Superhero ego). We should not forget his fight against Von Vulture and his assistant Schultz ("Schuuuuuuuuuuuuultz!") (I'm talking about propaganda cartoons during the Second World War.).
"Rabbit Season!!" ; "YOU are... Despicable!" are two of Daffy's most memorable lines- he's best as Bugs Bunny's rival, though he also had his share of solo cartoons such as when he was a sheriff (Porky Pig was his deputy), or his laying a golden egg brought him to the attention of the Mob. And there's his run in with Disney's Donald Duck in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Great video, Dave. Hope Yosimite Sam or Sylvester's on the list for other 'evolution videos'. 😁👍
22:07 *pauses and dies* My animation teacher had access to the model of Elmer during that shot and oml once you know what the model looks like behind the scenes you can NEVER unsee it (Boi his torso is..so long...) XDDD
Daffy has always been one of my all time favorites! (Also, A day late to this video, But it's cause I've a backlog of a ton of other videos to still watch!)
Believe it or not, I actually love Daffy Duck because of his wacky and daffy personality. I really dislike Bugs Bunny because he is always sly with poor Daffy. My favourite Daffy is Duck Dodgers by the way.
Chad Brown I've never been a Bugs Bunny fan either. I've never had sympathy for a character who almost always wins against everyone, which the studio really tried to avoid by making all other characters be mean to him, making them all look worse. Never cared for his brand of humor either, but I always have liked Daffy because he's way more variable with his content.
My favorite version of Daffy Duck is when he's basically Bugs Bunny, but ABSOLUTELY OFF HIS ROCKER. Oh, I absolutely love him. Where Bugs Bunny is tormenting others on purpose because they wronged him in some way (like disturbing his home or throwing a pie in his face), Daffy does because, again, he's absolutely insane and not because he's openly and (necessarily) consciously malicious. Like in the cartoon where Daffy is the most wanted criminal in the world.....for painting moustaches all over the city. Or when he's a hotel vallet and he keeps disturbing a guest's sleep in his attempts to *help* him get some rest. Daffy is just vibing and enjoying life, and I absolutely love it But then, they had to make him petty, dumb, vindictive and incompetent just because (in my opinion) he was too similar to Bugs Bunny. Which is ironic, because Bugs Bunny originally WAS the petty and vindictive one. The things he felt wronged for were generally very petty, like a poster being placed over his hole, not wanting his picture taken, being the hare in the "hare and the turtle" etc. , with the way he got revenge for these minor transgressions being tenfold
Donald and Daffy were always my favorites. Seeing them together in Roger Rabbit was so mind blowing for me as a kid.

6:37 This short was featured in an episode of Star Trek Voyager.
12:40-12:49 Cartoon Network used that clip for their "Power House" era.
Daffy in 2021: "I thlammed my penith in the car door."
I LOVE the zany screwball Daffy. I laugh so hard at that incarnation.
10:25-10:45 The animation on-screen perfectly syncs up with what's being told in the narration.
A pest in the house is my fav short of all time
Nice piece. One of my favorite Daffy Duck appearances is in "Book Revue," where he sings "Nothing could be feener than to be in Caroleena in the morning..."
I love that Behind the scenes Daffy and Bug’s fights were nothing personal but Daffy and Donald had Serious beef
"Once again, you messed up Daddy Duck, time travel and Mel freaking Black!"
- PhantomStrider on "See You Later Gladiator" (1968)
"Rabbit Season!!" ; "YOU are... Despicable!" are two of Daffy's most memorable lines- he's best as Bugs Bunny's rival, though he also had his share of solo cartoons such as when he was a sheriff (Porky Pig was his deputy), or his laying a golden egg brought him to the attention of the Mob. And there's his run in with Disney's Donald Duck in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Great video, Dave. Hope Yosimite Sam or Sylvester's on the list for other 'evolution videos'. 😁👍
Easily one of my top 5 and zaniest Looney Tunes characters.
Looking forward to the voice comparison.

My animation teacher had access to the model of Elmer during that shot and oml once you know what the model looks like behind the scenes you can NEVER unsee it (Boi his torso is..so long...) XDDD
The little black duck is 85 today! Happy birthday, Daffy!
Happy 86th birthday, Daffy!
My first exposure to Daffy came in the form of Ducking the Devil, when they put him up against the Tasmanian Devil.
Daffy is freaking awesome!!
I loved Daffy’s appearance alongside Donald Duck. As always I enjoy the effort into these videos!
Daffy was truly daffy in the old eps.
Nice video👍👍👍🦆
@@libraryham thank you very much.
Daffy is just vibing and enjoying life, and I absolutely love it
But then, they had to make him petty, dumb, vindictive and incompetent just because (in my opinion) he was too similar to Bugs Bunny.
I've been really enjoying your animation evolution videos. Your editing, scripting, research, and passion really show!
Thanks so much, I really appreciate that!
