This band was so fucking good. I don't care what the haters say, STP was honestly the Zeppelin of the 90s. Dean Deleo's guitar work is so inventive, and is the perfect mix of virtuosity and down home riffs. The rhythm section is just impeccable, you could set your watch to them, and say what you will about the tragic life of Scott Weiland, that man was the embodiment of a rocknroll front man, oozing charisma, and chemicals, hypnotizing you with his serpentine and ritualistic dancing.
I think they were the most musically complex out of all the 90s bands especially with the jazz cords that were put into most of the guitar parts in STP's songs
I got to see STP right before he died in Richmond VA. It was awesome. He threw out a drum head signed by the band and it landed right by where I was. A woman in a wheelchair caught it by chance so that was cool she got that.
I may just be a drummer, and although I'd comment on how superb this rhythm section is, I just have to comment on that ridiculously insane guitar tone and wall of crushing six string sound..
Good GOD what a bass tone!! 😁 DeLeo bros are this generations Jones/Cook. By the way....few rhythm sections have the talent to play this simply, yet so well together and with such powerful groove!!

It's actually correct to start on the 4. If he started on the 3 it wouldn't feel right. If he started on the 2 it would be right as well, but he needs to give it more time in order to give the other 2 guys a good tempo and enough time to feel the tempo as well. When Dean starts the riff, it's on the 1..
My ex co worker at blue man group, drummer jeff tortora , also sings some, he jammed with the Deleo brothers in LA after scott wasn't in the band like 15 years ago .
@@brandonhaywood426 or blame the whole band because it was planned to be slowed down that's a thing with Stone Temple pilots live they slow down a lot of their songs, why I don't know probably to make it easier on the band or to make the songs sound heavier I don't know but those are my guesses

One of the best grunge bands of all time
You literally nailed it. SW was a showman and the DeLeo Brothers along with Kretz were impeccable!!
No

@@Gumby6583go away.
one of the most charismatic front men ever!!!!!R.I.P. Scott Weiland
This tempo is way better than the album version i think. Its just so heavy here and so filthy stanky
Right? Love the studio recording, but what a groove they've got going here!
Dirty, gritty, filthy, nasty....upon the slower tempo. Love it
The DeLeo brothers kick ass!
JDSK14 Shriap Nighthouse!!
And such good people!
bassline freakn so thick and groovy..
Scott Weiland was a gift from God
that bassline and rhytm section slays!!
No one can hold it down like Kretz! Always steady AF

I was there. Winner 🏆 of contest. Awesome.
Playing it slower like that put scott in the perfect pace it's almost studio wow great stuff
It sounds even heavier slowed down. I'd love to hear The Body cover this song.
We miss you Scott!
Robert. Nuff said.
Scott was epic!
I may just be a drummer, and although I'd comment on how superb this rhythm section is, I just have to comment on that ridiculously insane guitar tone and wall of crushing six string sound..
no dude you’re totally right. every instrument in this absolutely kills
Very good! Beautiful music: Purple is a very good album❤
Slowed down JUST MAKES IT MORE FUNKY !
2024 and still miss you and love you Scott 😞💜
What a performance, what a band, what a frontman!!!!!!! So heavy, slugde!!!! love it!!!!!!!
I wanna be a stone temple pilot when i grow up
Good GOD what a bass tone!! 😁

To bring me down! Everything they did was gold!💙💙💙
best version.............
Such a KILLER, live rendition of this song....
too slow
the bottom end....robert deleo..
Huge band
Timeless Banger
At 1.25 speed it sounds more like the album
This is magic!
I had the luck to see them live in Brazil, in the very missed festival SWU....
Muito bom!!! Scott e Robert estavam elegantes e bonitos nesse show...
Try playing it at 1.25 speed. Sounds just right.
Thats codeine effect hahaha
That’s way too fast
That's way too fast lol
Stimplets had a bad habit of playing their shorter songs at a slower speed live. X1.15 would probably be perfect.
@@MushmouthJoe I'm going to try that. Thanks for the tip.

I love it sounds good. Still miss a lot Scott R.I.P
would love the whole show! This is nice
Alright come on boys kick up the tempo a little bit, let’s get this thing rolling… I got work tomorrow 🤣🤣
This is more important than your measly job..
Counts in with 4 beats for a song that starts on 3. Drives me up a fucking wall.
It's actually correct to start on the 4. If he started on the 3 it wouldn't feel right. @@rhythmista7707 Umh... no. It starts on 3.
The first 4 notes (of the song) are eighth notes. In time, they occupy 3 and 4 and.
@@rhythmista7707 And besides, they don't start on the 4. Watch it again. The drummer counts 4 and they start on 1. The song start on 3.
Depends how you count. To me is started on one after the four count.
My ex co worker at blue man group, drummer jeff tortora , also sings some, he jammed with the Deleo brothers in LA after scott wasn't in the band like 15 years ago .
This version is amazing, way slower also great bass
I love this song 🥰
Still here. ❤
Insane
Amazing!
Excellent performance all around. Reminds me of my second to last honeymoon.
amazing
Scott unico, inimitabile!
❤❤❤
Earth Soul RocknRoll...
Pesado hein !!!....
No one grooves onstage like Scott
Warm up track maaann !
I agree its a bit slowed down, not Scott's best...but i dug watching DeLeo on bass!
Not his worst either lol But more than anything, dude he is giving it his all on stage. Insane frontman performance here...
Blame the guitarist for the extremely slow start. You can count it off with the drummer, then the guitar comes in slow as fuck.
@@brandonhaywood426 or blame the whole band because it was planned to be slowed down that's a thing with Stone Temple pilots live they slow down a lot of their songs, why I don't know probably to make it easier on the band or to make the songs sound heavier I don't know but those are my guesses
Do you have the rest of this show in this quality? The other uploads look fuzzy compared to this one.
Sounds like a WC Fields vocal. “I gotta a lover and she shows me howwwwww….”
Very sssssssssslllooooooooooowwwwwwwwww
tabarnack de tabarnack from Quebec
He sings like WC Fields.
Ooooh fuck!
Play at 1.25 speed, and it's much better!
Dunno about that - theyre deliberately grinding the groove
I'll see your 1.25 and raise you .75 to 2. Imagine Scott Weiland just tooted up an entire gram of cocaine.
Small room, huge groove, great vocals, better outfit, how dare you complain
Wrong. Ever since hearing this version, this is exactly how we covered it
Slower than studio version but I love the slow grungy style of this live
Put it on 1.25x and it becomes very groovy
actually he doesnt say motherfuckin P in the beginning. was it dubbed?
tooo sloow
Dear Elon: please spin up this aural grind on Starship Heavy during retro descent when you start to colonize Mars.
I k ow he did not like shit most of the time from fans throwing shit on the stage - never he caught shit in the air and threw it back my friend 😂
Too fast guys, slow it down🎉
"Find day for a place full of breakdowns"...hmmmmm...
St motherfucking p, Scott was so hot he burned brighter than a comet, to me dean is the band though
good luck Chester. Better off with the lone rangers.
@will d. Don’t worry about Chester. That idiot killed himself.
@@kikayei you're a douchebag
A very slow version of this song
Excruciatingly slow!
tooo slow
Too slow, liked the album version better.Great otherwise!
Pete Sims too slow but... sounds 😍😍
I wish I knew what type of guitar and pedals, etc. to achieve that starry squeaky driving sound.
