Yeh I’m very fortunate to have the use of a workshop, i can’t imagine doing this stuff outside or in the confines of a small garage, I’d highly recommend putting your car on a rollover jig if you can though, it makes this stuff a lot easier with better access
I’m a Ford owner man, it’s all to be expected 🤣 but nah, I always try to see the bright side of bad situations, I’d lose motivation if I let it get to me…
Your enthusiasm is inspiring Terry ! I was thinking where the heck do you start with that floor . Think that was a very wise choice and right way forward to be honest and what a super job at least you can now make it exactly how you want it and it’s all new metal …super job great vid 👍
This is it mate, it would have been a massive task making the floor pan right and that was only the beginning, that with the rear end etc aswel it would have taken me all year to even get close to moving forward haha. Atleast now I can move on straight away almost with good bones beneath it 👌🏼
I will man, don’t you worry! Don’t get me wrong, it’ll be nice to have a bunch of subscribers and make a living from this but I’m quite content with it being lowkey and somewhat intimate, big channels don’t seem to be able to keep up with comments, I like being able to speak with you guys…
Great job, a hell of a lot of work, good on you, to take something like that on, i know it can't be easy [ bit of a under statement ] but you do make it look pretty straight forward 👍 😀
I think that’s more the wonders of editing to be honest haha, but thank you, it’s definitely taken on a new level now but I’m looking forward to trying my hand at new things now
It’s hard not to let it get to me but getting down about it won’t help, just have to chin up and press on regardless mate haha It’ll be worth it in the long run
Nicely done Terry, but it were like cornflakes inside the chassi legs...and the patchwork have to make the car almost 15% more in weight.... but now is no turning back, tube it is..... good job!
It probably did mate lol that will all the cornflakes aswel… I’m glad to see the back of it all to be honest. Looking forward to trying my hand at tube work now 😬🍻
Amazing work man, I’m glad you are going ahead with it all as it’s great to see how people are doing all these sill repairs etc as there seems to be nothing on mk5/6 escorts what I can find! Looking forward to the next video!
Cheers mate, and yeh, there’s not a great deal on UA-cam about mk5/6 escorts unfortunately, the sills, although daunting if you’ve not done them before, are actually pretty straightforward to be honest, just need to go at them slowly, always cut off less than you need to and trim back slowly until they fit right. Inner and centre sill sections need to be made though because you can’t buy those. I’ll do an arch and fuel filler repair video soon aswel.
Great work mate , you should of put a brace bar between the b pillar , hang the doors to make sure the doors still line up then put a bar In please lol Have you thought about going to a breakers and getting a BMW floor pan and saving yourself a lot of work ? Keep on going , look forward to the next one .
Yeh, should have done really, but it’s just a race car now essentially and it’ll have fibreglass doors down the line anyway which will no doubt fit terribly anyway lol it’s going back on the table for all the tube work so if I find any discrepancies il tweak it on the table 👌🏼 I did look at numerous bmw specs online as it goes, a 1series seems to be a pretty close match but iv already got my s3/escort chassis swop project and didn’t really wana have 2 on the channel at the same time, definitely not saying no to trying it later down the line though, 120d escort or Orion could be interesting 🤔
excellent progress young man personally, i would be chucking the doors back on + nailing a few alignment bars across A/B/C pillars for peace of mind, there is a lot of body missing now... never mind later...
Thanks Paul, yeh, I was going to brace it all like I have with the Quattro escort but there’s still a good chunk of the car still there atm, il be making the new floor area before I start removing anymore, I’m hopeful it shouldn’t have moved much but I will check the door fitment before the new floor structure goes it, if it has tweaked a little I should be able to remedy it on the table, it’s only a race car now so I’m not to stressed about it if I’m honest
100% fixing the floor and chassis would have taken ages. Tube chassis will look way better anyway 😬 Hopefully the materials Iv ordered won’t take long to arrive and I can get straight back into it 🤞🏻
It would have been easier to just cobble together the glassfiber body panels in a body and drop it over a tubular chassis 😂 Seriously, good job as usual, keep it up! 👍
They’re not far off mate, I did look into that option. That might be a build for another time, the 1 series coupe isn’t far off a Orion either 🙃 Could start another chassis swop with this though when Iv still got the s3/escort chassis swop still ongoing…
I said before you said that I'd seen worse 100% resto well worth it, shouldn't be too much work considering what you'll end up with. (Edit: then i continued to watch) 😂
Hahaha, yeh, like I said in the video, iv got a habit of jumping the gun 😅, I mean yeh, it was more than manageable really, but for the time it would have taken only for me to have cut a big hole through the centre of it for a gearbox, adapting the chassis for rwd etc, it just made more sense to go ahead and rid myself of the headaches… should be way better for it come the end anyway 🤞🏻
Oh don’t worry, that one’s still happening, it’s just been on the back burner while I tackle this rs but now that’s turned into abit of a mega project il probably get back into the Quattro escort and alternate between the 2, would be nice to see some progress on that one again finally!
Surprisingly not, I thought it was going to be a lot worse tbh! And it could have been saved really if I’d wanted to… tube chassis will be better though I think.
I did think about it but just went full send lol, if anything’s out come tubing time we can always make adjustments on the table, but it’s only going to be a race car now anyway so I’m not to stressed about it really…
If it were me and it was going to be tracked i would want it to be safe. So i would have stuck a tube chassis on it. If it was just for a road car patch her up.
Restore it Terry, it’s good content and it’s a rare sight to see an escort these days
I take it back! That’s beyond help!!!!!! But have a go anyway
I have exactly the same issue it is extremely frustrating for me as I've not got a workshop to do mine in.
Well done thanks for sharing.

I was surprised how positive you were when you see the floor underside😊
I’m a Ford owner man, it’s all to be expected 🤣 but nah, I always try to see the bright side of bad situations, I’d lose motivation if I let it get to me…

That is awesome bro! Great work as always 🎉
Said it before, you're criminally under subbed! Keep plugging away bro

Quality man as usual, and cheers for the heads up on "The Boys" been looking for something new to watch 👌
Mate, honestly, if you haven’t watched, watch it, it’s a great and the opening 5mins are brilliant!!
Another cracking job Terry. Thanks again for sharing it with us.
My pleasure mate and thank you for sticking around, I know I’m not the most consistent with uploads 🙈
As always Terry, well done marra. No messing about, cut it out and move forward.
Had to be done mate, hopefully I can press on again soon once I get the materials I ordered 👌🏼
Loved the old Escort Cosworths, but had a thing for the older RS200 parent to the Sierra Cosworth.
Who doesn’t have a thing for a rs200, what a machine they are, unfortunately I doubt il ever get the opportunity to own one but we can all dream huh
Your determination to keep going is admirable. Top job Terry.
Stubborn determination that is, I can’t quit though, that’s the easy way out haha
@@Tdevil86 see...? Admirable

It’s hard not to let it get to me but getting down about it won’t help, just have to chin up and press on regardless mate haha
It’ll be worth it in the long run
Aright Tel. Nice job mate. You were as well off to cut all that shite out of there. Looking forward to the next one. Regards from Ireland mate!
Had to done really didn’t it, I don’t think anyone would want to watch me try and restore it all for the next couple of years lol
Nicely done Terry, but it were like cornflakes inside the chassi legs...and the patchwork have to make the car almost 15% more in weight.... but now is no turning back, tube it is..... good job!

Doing a good job on the escort mate can’t wait to see more of it being done
Cheers dude, still tons on this and the other one to come yet 🙈
excellent progress young man

Haha, thank you mate, we got this, right 🤔🙈🤣
Keep going lad love it from Ireland 🇮🇪 👍 👏
Will do my man, thank you 🍻
best choice mate , that floor looked shot , them sills looked fire awesome work ! im like a crack head itching for the next vid
100% fixing the floor and chassis would have taken ages. Tube chassis will look way better anyway 😬
Hopefully the materials Iv ordered won’t take long to arrive and I can get straight back into it 🤞🏻
I still want this car 😢😂
Everything has a price, you never know, I may end up selling it at some point
It would have been easier to just cobble together the glassfiber body panels in a body and drop it over a tubular chassis 😂 Seriously, good job as usual, keep it up! 👍
You’re telling me, if I’d known it would end up like this I wouldn’t have gone to all effort of sorting out the rear quarter etc lol
You are doing incredible work. Continúe please.
Thank you, il do my best man 🍻
YESSSS !!, Thanks for another dollop, brilliant .....
Cheers dude, hopefully have more soon once I get my materials to move forward
I think a nice 1 series BMW hatchback floor would go in there
They’re not far off mate, I did look into that option. That might be a build for another time, the 1 series coupe isn’t far off a Orion either 🙃
Could start another chassis swop with this though when Iv still got the s3/escort chassis swop still ongoing…
I had no5 is it a winner on the tombola terry? Lol 😊😊
I said before you said that I'd seen worse

I think you’ve done the right thing mate. Would have been so much work restoring that chassis and for what?
Exactly, restore it to go and cut a great hole in it for a gearbox, just didn’t make my sense to me, tube chassis will look awesome aswel 😍
Terry, what happened to the Audi S3 Quattro Swopped Mk5 Ford Escort - build?
Oh don’t worry, that one’s still happening, it’s just been on the back burner while I tackle this rs but now that’s turned into abit of a mega project il probably get back into the Quattro escort and alternate between the 2, would be nice to see some progress on that one again finally!
As you say not as bad as we all thought.
Surprisingly not, I thought it was going to be a lot worse tbh! And it could have been saved really if I’d wanted to… tube chassis will be better though I think.
I’d have put some cross braces in so nothing twisted will on the roller jig
I did think about it but just went full send lol, if anything’s out come tubing time we can always make adjustments on the table, but it’s only going to be a race car now anyway so I’m not to stressed about it really…
@@Tdevil86 I get what your saying 100 mate cars looking really good always worse than you think with a fire tho 🤣🤣
Yabadabadoo! :)
Oh well looked good for 5 mins
If it were me and it was going to be tracked i would want it to be safe. So i would have stuck a tube chassis on it. If it was just for a road car patch her up.
Exactly that, safety is paramount! Need to build everything to spec now so it’s all legit 👌🏼
Nowt wrong with that Terry, Bitta polyfilla, that be fine
I don’t think there’s enough filler available to rectify this old turd now lol
❤🛠🚗👍
if a jobs worth doing may as well go the whole hog and do it right mate 👍
Exactly that man, no point going half arsed at this stage
@Tdevil86 definitely it'll be worth it when your finished and behind the wheel
That day cannot come soon enough man lol
Why the stupid music !
What a random question… lol
