Could you help find any information on my maiden name: Earon, I always thought it could be french canadian but I'm not sure! Ive looked for years and can never find anything!
Hello Jessica Full marks for a very unusual surname! The earliest I could find is a John Earon in Lincolnshire, England around 1700. I suspect it's an alternative spelling of Aaron, Arron from days when illiteracy was common. George
I would love to know what the story is with my surname: Piety. Obviously it is a noun and I have found relatives in Kent and London in historical records, but it appears to be very rare. And it is EXTREMELY rare in the United States. In the US all of the Pietys I have found are relatives. It seems like it could arise from a pious nature. But given what I know of the Pietys in the US (since before the Revolutionary War) it would seem like the name would have been particularly pious. Indeed, their most outstanding shared characteristic appears to have been to leave their wives.
Where does McBrian come from, names that are not preceded by o or Mac seem harder to find. My mother's family were McBrien and Clemons..My dad was Dawson and Grier or something like that
Hello Kenneth A very unusual surname,. It seems to occur almost exclusively in USA. A possible explanation is that it is a corruption of the name of an immigrant long ago. George
I've been told that one of my great uncles was Mark Twain who is Samuel Clemons
Very interesting!!!

Hello Arlie Mc or Mac is the Scottish or Irish for son, so it's a surname of relationship 'son of Brian', as is Dawson. George
