Please read before ordering desk! At this point, I can no longer recommend DangerFox studio furniture… This pains me greatly to write… Over the past year I have gotten countless messages from people who have paid for their desks in full and on some accounts been waiting over a year and a half without receiving their desks. I myself had ordered three of their racks, and been told I could receive them in six weeks as that was the deadline I needed, one year later they would not respond to my emails or text messages, which unfortunately is the same story literally dozens of people have told me. I feel absolutely terrible that I may have led anybody to spend their cash on a purchase that has either taken an unacceptable amount of time, or that they have not received at all. My deepest apologies to those who watched this video and decided to make the purchase and may have fallen on hard times due to the influence of this video. It’s because of this, that I no longer recommend DangerFox products. Please enjoy the video, but do not purchase these desks. I’m so sorry.
I bought a thing called "cup holster", plastic, but US made and it clamps to a desk surface. Won't really clamp around that padded thing, but holy crap it's saved me about an estimated 37 heart attacks since installing it, as I don't do the accidental desk-sweep-oops-there-goes-the-coffee-and-a-gazilllion-bucks any more... :)
I became a fan after the first build. This one is next level. I built our SSL studio at the college, so I fee ya. But your work ethic is serious, Inspiring. Really appreciate this.
This is the most beautiful setup I’ve seen so far. Worth the wait for us an audience and definitely for you as the owner. Congratulations on the change man! Moooore music to come man!!! Cheers.
Great job! If you still like the idea of a second monitor, you could always put a bigger one over that one. I use a 43” tv over my main monitor. Mine is hanging down off the ceiling, but I am sure there are lots of ways to add one. From experience, it comes in really handy and is not that much of an expense for the significant amount of monitoring space. Thanks again Colt!
Wow man, I haven’t been this excited for a video in a long time, I feel like we’ve been right here with you over the past couple of weeks sharing the pain! Incredible graft as always my man thank you for sharing it with us, loved every minute of it 🤘🏼🖤
I agree with your points about going to a mastering style desk. I am glad I watched this as I am getting ready to build a desk but I didn't consider the articulating arm for the video monitor but now I shall! Thanks!
colt I found your channel when I saw your studio makeover video and I immediately subscribed. months later i’ve been watching all your videos and feel like i’ve even developed a personal connection to you(even though you don’t even know me😂) but thank you for all of the content you create and tips you give and if I ever get the pleasure of working with you in the future, we are going to create a killer album! thanks again, keep up the great work.
This was one of those inspirational videos that influenced me to purchase one of these Dangerfox desks in March 2023. It took until July 2024 for it to ship, however, UPS lost a package along the way and now I have no legs, hardware, or rack rails to assembly it. After 18 months, I have pieces of plywood that are sitting in the box due to Dangerfox being MIA in my requests to replace the parts. One added variable to this nightmare.
I am so so sorry about that! I have made Publix statements about this problem, taking their link out of the description and every video, and pinned a new comment to the top of this video expressing that I am not recommending them anymore. My apologies.
In the studio I had the pleasure of working and recording in; we built a vocal both with door panels, two were hinged together and on the wall and another hinged 90 degrees on the side wall. Everything collapsed on itself out of the way, it worked so well other home studio asked us to do it for them. It was a space saver that worked marvelously.
I'm having a mastering style desk built for me similar to this just narrower with 2 bays since I have a smaller space. That monitor boom arm is SUCH a helpful tip as I hate having monitor so far away from me while editing and up till now I had a Raven in my desk with a second monitor up above/behind. Got rid of the Raven tho so this will be a super helpful way to do that. Can't wait to see future videos of you rocking this thing! Glad you finally got it all put back together!
Quite the commitment to film and document all those stages and clips while busy. Thanks for letting us see it all! You'll love that new setup, looks great.
i bet you were so relieved when that monitor controller finally went in. having it on the desk and the empty rack spaces would have driven me crazy! great looking desk..and the sidecar!...when it turned up i was like "don't unplug anything....just slide them in there!!". glad you figured it out!
Congrats Colt, that desk is a thing of beauty! I’m just coming to the end of my refurb in my garden studio - I don’t think that desk would fit in 😂 You have an awesome space and work ethic and I’m sure working will be just that bit more fun now with this fantastic set up. Looks super impressive too for your clients first impression as they come in. Fantastic really enjoyed watching it all come together.
The desk is sick! I'm building a mastering desk from scratch. Its going to be VERY heavy haha. A curved monitor changed my world. It is also a bit higher so it magnifies the screen really well. It was like $150 Samsung curve from Walmart. nicer than my LG wide honestly.
Wow! Love it. Congrats, Colt! Laughed my ass off at the part where you attempted the “grab all the patch bays while wired to rack” move - having tried that myself I recognized the struggle 😂 Your new desk looks killer !
Screw any Netflix show or movie I had wanted to watch today. This video is top priority. The desk is from Texas?! If i had known they made it here, I would have gotten one sooner...yet, money is still an issue when on a budget, but will definitely give this desk a gander whenever my desk needs to expand down in the future. From following this youtube channel for idk how long-probably not long enough; A lot has changed from not only seeing your journey to improve on mixes and mastering, but to help us along the way to make sure we don't make the mistakes we always do on every mix, and to speed up the process and make any track sound better in the long run. Much love from Texas, I hope to see more videos like this in then near future...you need a another nap. lol
From my personal experience with shipping speed, you won't necessarily receive it faster because you live in the same state that it's made in. I live in Canada, and I've received parcels from Germany faster than ones that were sent from a city two hours away from my place lol. It's strange.
Looks Fantastic! Can you share your patchbay layout? Considering how clean and organized your room is, I’m assuming you’d have some good patchbay org tips. Thanks.
You should make more videos like this. Maybe a weekly thing were you completely rewire the studio like this. You can call it the “weekly wrap up” and you wrap up all your cables, unrack your gear and then start all over. Weekly. The viewers demand it. Weekly.
I watched this video about 20 times, I guess. I really, really like the whole process of building the desk and getting everything together. Love your video style and the music, much appreciated. Great setup, man!
Wow, that desk is fantastic! Well worth the wait for the studio reveal. Can not wait for you to start making more content while working in this new setup and being inspired by it!
very nice setup ... also very nice lil idea with the Amazon Basics Storage Rack (yes, I went on a amazon research to find out what exactly it was) for the MacPro and hard drives and stuff behind the test ... I will "steal" this idea for my new setup later this year ... cheers
I use a relatively small 27” ultrawide screen and have been looking to upgrade to a bigger one. I tried a 34” one which wasn’t curved and found it hard to work toward the edges of the screen without physically moving to view it properly. I think curved is a necessity once you get to large computer screens where you’re seated fairly close (less so for TV’s where you’re normally sitting further away). I hope it works out for you but I fear you’ll want to get a curved one. Love the new setup though, looks great and hopefully much more ergonomic!
Dude that setup is amazing 🙌🏽 I've seen a couple of your vids before, but after this.. I subbed to your channel. I'm barely starting my musical journey, barely bought a Scarlett audio interface today after work, one piece at a time for me! Dream studio setup right here for me! 👍🏽
Thanks for the desk inspiration! Def getting one of these for my studio in the uk I’m building. Hopefully danger fox will ship that far ! It’s so well thought out this desk
Love the new studio look! The desk is great! Would you ever consider doing a video on explaining music licenses? Such as explaining a blanket license a venue has to have for the artists to play there, and also the legalities of musicians performing cover songs. Seems so complicated the more I read about it.
Such an awesome makeover!! I still can't believe your channel has only 50K+ subs. You deserve many more my friend! Your content is amazing! Keep posting cause I'll continue to watch!
Hey Colt, super made up for you the set up looks awesome. You worked so hard to get that sorted but definitely worth it. Looking forward to the new tutorials that you mentioned and please keep up the good work.
Awesome, looks great... if I were to nitpick... you have to paint those monitor stand wooden boards black, and get black decouples under NS10s, to have everything matching and a clean look. It's a perfect setup, only those would be a needle in the eye for me personally.
Please read before ordering desk!

Might be worth changing the title to reflect this update as well.
5:36 that instinctive move to put your coffee on the desk and the realisation that it’s a brand new desk
Nailed it hahaha

He’s so excited about his new toys it’s great😂☺️
This is a setup and desk I was dreaming of like 40 years ago, and I am still in awe if I see one. Great job!
Finally...... after the so many weeks and here came the season finale for this studio makeover... love it...
That desk is a beast. It probably costs more than my entire studio! Dropping that monitor controller into that final slot was so satisfying :)
I became a fan after the first build. This one is next level. I built our SSL studio at the college, so I fee ya. But your work ethic is serious, Inspiring. Really appreciate this.

Immense. You deserve every bit of it. Your skills and hard work are paying off big time.

I just bought one yesterday. Watched this video 10 times to make my conclusion. Thanks.
Congrats!

Biggest youtube cliffhanger ever, I was getting worried! Glad it worked out, looks amazing
Once I saw you pull out the pen and paper for the patch bays lol SOLD! Good job bro...
In the studio I had the pleasure of working and recording in; we built a vocal both with door panels, two were hinged together and on the wall and another hinged 90 degrees on the side wall. I know I'm late, but I keep watching this Video! Excellent Post!

I'm not even a recording engineer or musician (ML engineer), but somehow I'm hooked by the total wholesome nerdiness of this
your sound is always perfect to the ears. Thank you for the knowledge
i bet you were so relieved when that monitor controller finally went in. having it on the desk and the empty rack spaces would have driven me crazy! great looking desk..and the sidecar!...when it turned up i was like "don't unplug anything....just slide them in there!!". glad you figured it out!
Colt, great setup your studio has just moved up to the next level, looks crazy good, the sidecar is a plus. great job!!!
Congrats Colt, that desk is a thing of beauty! I’m just coming to the end of my refurb in my garden studio - I don’t think that desk would fit in 😂

One of my favourite CC vids. Great watching it again 👊🏾☺️
Loving the setup.... Wish mine was half as good! One day! Glad we finally got to see it all! Keep the videos coming....
Love the high production on your vids mate! Must have a lot on your hands and you still take the time

Congratulations! Been itching to see how this turned out - thanks for sharing!
Nice job ! 🙂Always love seeing a pair of Opals in a studio.
Those wires are similar to major industrial equipment lol. Holy cable management, Batman.
You definetly do not crack under pressure ! ✊😎👍
Take care and keep on rockin' 🤘💚
how could anyone dislike this?! So happy for you man!!! Keep inspiring us.
How nice to have all these things
I’m jealous.....to be able to walk around my desk would be a dream come trough.
Looks great. I really do understand your pain when hooking things back together. The setup is beautiful though. Love it.
It's beautiful! Congratulations. I'm so stoked for you.
Bro the studio looks amazing. Love tour content. Keep up the great job. Looking forward to next video.
That desk and side car are BAD ASS.
I was waiting for this video. Thanks for sharing your process.
Wow! Love it. Congrats, Colt!
Laughed my ass off at the part where you attempted the “grab all the patch bays while wired to rack” move - having tried that myself I recognized the struggle 😂 Your new desk looks killer !
Congrats - that's an awesome and efficient setup. I feel like I just watched all your dreams come true!

I was gonna ask if that was birch. Excellent choice, sir! Good hustle, too.
20 seconds into the video. I can't describe the amount of hype i am for this guy i have never seen in my entire life xD
Looks Fantastic!

I have that same Samsung monitor 🔥🙌🏼 love the new setup. Very inspiring
I love everytime you have spressos on your videos! I am a huge guitar-gear-spresso addict as well! :)
That birch is good stuff! Def spent a pretty penny on that bad boy!
I think I'm about to upgrade the desk I have or build a new one...
Never have I anticipated a UA-cam video this much haha. Setup looks awesome, so happy for you!
Especially that desk is really good for me! Thank so much for your video :)
the articulated arm is a great idea
Fantastic Colt! Thanks for allowing us to follow along and watch your new studio come together. Simply Awesome!

Finally! Congratulations man, you deserve it!
Your a brave man, i would have had to give myself a week to make sure all was good and proper. Well done, cool video !!
Colt, this is an awesome setup, so much more compact and cleaner for the cabling.
Thanks for the desk inspiration! Def getting one of these for my studio in the uk I’m building. Hopefully danger fox will ship that far ! It’s so well thought out this desk
this video was well worth the wait Colt! Your studio looks absolutely amazing!!! Congrats on all the upgrades working out!!
I love how your studio now looks like promotional material. I think that's saying something about your camera work as well. Lookin' sweet!
Massive compliment!! Thanks!
MAN!!!! SO DOPE! congrats! been watching from the start!
Great choice! I’m excited for you.
Finally! I've been waiting for this! 🔥🙏🏼
Love the new studio look! The desk is great!

Wow ... my laptop studio needs just one cable. Fortunately, I would never get all of these lines together, respect, this is a great studio,
Looks awesome Colt - that’s hot. OMG - that’s cool. Great stuff.
Totally professional looking. Great business decision.
Amazing bro.... I got excited like it was my own brand new studio.
Someday in the future, I will have it :)
Congratulations \\m//
I watched you build the room your in. Crazy to see you grow over UA-cam. Good shit man keep up the good work 💪
Looks great love your energy I most likely would of did the session on the old desk and then made the switch but you got it done great job
Such an awesome makeover!! I still can't believe your channel has only 50K+ subs. You deserve many more my friend! Your content is amazing! Keep posting cause I'll continue to watch!

Colt, bloody brilliant, man. Well done! Looks superb.
Good luck man, a fan of cables and audio equipment, excellent work, well done

Awesome video @Colt. I would love to learn how you know what goes where in your patch bay
Just ordered my dangerfox. Thanks for the discount code Colt!!
Congrats!
Congrats on the upgrade. I was definitely checking daily. Looks dope for your workflow for sure. Nice evolution.
So happy for you man, it looks amazing!

Wow!!!!! That desk though.... LOVE IT. Great job, Colt.
Nice desk, though your radio silence was a bit concerning. Glad to have you back!
damn I did that a couple of months ago...cold sweat...it was exhausting aswell...!
I want this desk !!!!!!!!!
Greetings from Berlin (GER)
Great job man! I don't envy you for doing that re-wiring job XD
The set up is dope!! I appreciate the visuals!! 👍🏾👍🏾
Literally was so excited when I saw this go up!
At last! ) I was so curious, how the new setup will look like. And it looks simply amazing )
very very nice setup you have there, mate - took apparently lots of effort to setup! I hope you have lots of great time making your music there!!!!
Man!! Looks so good! Pumped for you!
