Mike-- Built my desk inspired by your videos, including the cardboard models. I added some monitor platforms above the racks, widened the center section-- and worked in inches, which was not fun. You nailed this tutorial, especially managing the ergonomic angles-- thank you so much!

Can you share your plans for the desk including dimensions of each piece? Thanks

If you were really spetsnaz you wouldn't ask for dimensions. You'd go in from a chopper, down the rope, abseil slingshot through the window, nick the plans and exfil via the upstairs bathroom window. Bish, bash, bosh. In and out, no mess, in under 4 hours.

Just a word of caution. MDF material is made with formaldehyde, which has been proven to cause cancer. Wearing breathing respirator or some sort of protective gear is highly recommended, when cutting, sanding, etc. once painted.. it’s ok.

Ever consider designing one with a PC build into it? Like placing a glass or plexiglass top and the components inside it with a rig for the Motherboard and GPU under the glass for easy access removal and upgrade?

Long bearers made of MDF? Good luck with that - probably best to cut them off and bolt on some solid wood lengths instead. You could have spent less on MDF and avoided a lot of cutting and dust.

Could you not cut identical angles on the top wood, kinda work it backwards from what you were saying. Build the top with the dimensions you want for the units, then build the two legs to the size allotted by the cut you made before. I think there’s a lot less science and it can be made a lot less difficult. But overall I loved the video and it’s a great tutorial.

I see you have a vacuum atratchment for the circular saw you were using. Even with that MDF is nasty to breath in. Please use a respirator mask even if for the sake of demonstration.

No way under $500. I have a whole workshop and personally own that very makita track saw. The tool alone is $500+, even if you managed to rent these tools nobody is going to give you over $1000 of tools without a upfront deposit of $250+, plus stack the cost of mats and hardware, paint and consumables....the total will be over $500 guaranteed. Maybe different outside of the States, but even then, I think you're not being completely honest

I did mine under and paid to have the wood cnc’d bc I didn’t feel like doing the cuts. Wood was $160 with plenty to spare
2 sheets of 97x49 and 1 sheet of birch for the beauty panels that was stained
I went over 500 when I intergraded led lights and a usbc hub but that was a personal touch, without I was under $500, could been under $300 if I didn’t pay for cnc cuts
