Thank you, Chris! My door handle stopped functioning a week ago, and it turns out that the blue cable had slipped forward out of place. I pushed it back and it snapped into place and now the door works fine. Appreciate the video!

Thank You for this!! That Thumb on top of the handle trick seems to work the best for me as well. Appreciate the tip..

Good stuff. Hopefully, this is the issue I have with the rear door at the moment. Seems like an easy enough fix. Thank you.

I have three promaster. My 2018 rear door handle stoped opening. And the other day my 2020 drivers side door will not close.

These doors are clearly built with very cheap components. Unfortunately, your best option would be a dealer. I don't know of any way to open it from the outside when it is jammed like that.

@@baloo217 My rear door is intermittently problematic in the same way. The Central locking via the key fob will lock it, but doesn't always unlock it. When this happens i've found you can use the key in the keyhole and slightly twist it and you'll hear the mechanism click. the door will then open from the outside. Hope this helps....

Is it typical to feel like I am about to break my Promaster rear door mechanism every time I open it?

Yes… and don’t get me started on having to slam the side door. It’s a work truck, I know. But damn.. I feel like I’m gonna break something. My current Promaster is at 240,000 miles. Nothing but brakes, tires,, amd oil changes so far. But slamming those doors. I’m still shocked I haven’t had to replace anything 😳

@@cwheremonster8870 Wow 240k amazing. What about transmission flushes?

Great question. I didn’t start doing tranny flushes ‘till about 70k miles (on the advice of internet technicians).. I do the transmission service once a year . Just because it’s easy to remember (January). My oil change guy charges me $25.. I think ? It might be more. Whatever.. either way, I’m thinking it’s good insurance. After year two, I’ve done all the oil and filter changes myself . But I do the tranny flush at a local service station.
