Nelson Piquet at 1992 Indy 500 Practice

Former F1 champion Nelson Piquet tried his hand at racing at Indianapolis starting in 1992. This WRTV-6 (Indianapolis, Ind.) story focused on Piquet prior to his terrible accident in practice that caused massive foot and leg injuries and forced him out of the race. (He did return and drive in 1993.)

Nelson returned in 1993 . Fantastic recovery , outqualified a future Indy winner Cheever . He still had it .
