Chris Watts really thought he can talk his way out with the FBI when he can’t even get past Neighbor Nate who took 5 minutes to notice something’s wrong🤦🏻♀️
i feel like nate us that neighbor that you wouldn’t expect to be any help in situations like this but then he’s shows ppl that he’s really smart and knows what he’s doing
I once lost my brother... I ran through our city searching for him on foot. The panic I felt as I replayed the scenarios in my mind were awfull. After hours spent outside in the cold my dad finally found me and told me he was hiding under my bed all along. I can't tell you the relief I felt. I cried.
Damn, what a story. My dad once thought hed lost my little sister when she was 5, turned she had just hopped over the neighbours wall to play with their swings. The only time ive ever seen him cry.
When one of my loved ones is like an hour late with no messages sent to me, I start to assume the worst and worry so much. It only takes a second to just send a text "I'll be late".. would save me so much headache
God bless you. Thanks for your care/heart. ♥️😊 Sibling relationship can be something really valuable. Unfortunately I don't get along well with my sister.
He's a badass. I love how he knows right away Watts is guilty. He keeps his cool really well considering he is 90% sure he's just watched his neighbour take his family's bodies and dump them in the back of his car.
That polygraph woman pointed out so well how he didnt cry for his missing daughters yet he cried when he was about to be busted. Now that's an epitome of narcissism. He only cared about himself.
Her neighbor was the real MVP. She was not letting up or making excuses like "maybe she just went on a visit" . She knew she was sick, knew she had a doctor's appointment, saw her shoes and car there and said "HELL NO". I would imagine my best friend being like that. I know he must've shit a brick when that cop called him.
@@roleat My friend's mom is diagnose ASP and is a narcissist. She shot the family dog because the price of dog food went up. She's now in jail Thank God
Do not worry, after what you did, you do not have to work for a living, you have nobody to support. You now have all the time to love your mistresst, because you murdered your family!
I've thought the same thing, but our anxiety would make us cry and our grief is maginified(if we are innocent obviously!), so no your anxiety wouldn't make you look suspicious! Showing no feelings is what is weird!
@@dnashnasirqureshi5176 you can tell when someone is worried for themself or others. He was scared to death of being caught and everyone knowing what he had done, he didn't care a thing and never shed one tear for his family. He never even looked worried, scared, lost just nothing! Just super scary man!!
“The coolest thing about this is right now only one of us in this room know the truth, and in about 5 minutes there will be two of us” SAVAGE, that made ME nervous!
also just noticed 28:34 she asked "was she is in an accident?" and Chris' reply is "I didn't do anything" not a normal response of an innocent person, he would have said 'maybe I don't know!'
Her job must be so damn satisfying... you can tell she loves it how could you not. You get to be the aha moment on nailing lying killers every time even before they cracked
The real hero who unravelled the tragedy was the friend Nickole Atkinson and her son who took the trouble to go and check on her friend and her son’s presence of mind to suggest that the neighbour’s CCTV be checked out.
The son also told the cop pretty much straight away how Chris had told them 3 different stories of where his wife was. That kid was definitely on the ball
Laterr- Roblox was kidding around. All mom’s can tell when their kids are crying because they’re caught, not because they’re sorry. When you wrote that as a comment, any mother would recognize it as something they know about their own kids. So roblox just guessed you are a mom & wrote it to be funny & share a joke with you. I’m certain she did not mean it as insulting in anyway. As a matter of fact, it’s a compliment!

Was the "you are really pretty" necessary hannah..? Your commentary language show that you might be attracted to girls ( im another kind of detective, thats my job)
Right? I'm sure a concerned parent would not also refer to their children as "kids" either but rather use a very fond and loving term like "my babies." Hope he rots in prison

I wanted neighbor nate to swing on chris so fucking bad dude. I wanted her best friend to go in on him but I get it like imagine the thought that your bffs husband murdered her and yoyrr in the damn house next to him. And you caught it first. I'd literally shut my pants for weeks lmao
Or when he said belle was the girly one in the first interview. Police knew it minutes after talking to him. I guess don’t kill your family if you are super stupid and the worlds worst liar. Casey Anthony was stupid too but a great liar and got away
Simple behaviours give away lies. If someone looks up to one side or another, when answering a question, for instance. One tells you they're recalling real events, while the other is a clear indication they're calculating how much of the truth and how much of a lie will make their answer plausible.
Dear future husband: if you want to date other people, dont kill me and the kids. Just leave please. I'd rather be heartbroken than dead. So this comment kind of blew up but anyway, I dont want women to murder men either guys. Its horrific both ways. Just dont kill each other 😂
Hope you never get killed by anybody. Amen. And to add to your note to your future husband, you gotta promise not to take him to court for half of everything he owns, half of everything he inherited (if any), half of the money in the joint accounts, half of the equity in all his private accounts and investments (even in those accounts and investments he may have had prior to meeting you), custody of the kids, child support, and the max alimony money possible, because that was partly the motive for Chris' killings and that of other murderous husbands in the recent past. Because as psychopathic and as evil as Chris is, we have a scary divorce system that scares lots of horrible husbands into now considering murder over divorce. So I hope the government starts to look more into that, otherwise I'm really concerned that we will see similar situations like Chris' pop up. Sadly.
@@flaffy6181 in which case I wish you nothing but the best in finding a good husband and the right man for you. You sound like you deserve nothing but the best. And I hope you find it. Amen.
Imagine if the wife didn't have a doctor's appointment or a best friend like that. I wonder how long it would have been for someone to know they were gone 😭
I think they would realize pretty quick still. She was always on Facebook posting videos for her products she was selling and constantly texting Nichole. But if the neighbor didn’t come forward with the footage, he may have been able to get away with it.
Poor Nick and Amanda, I never knew they had Chris over their house. I can't imagine how horrible it must feel to help out a good friend in a time of need, only to find out they're a monster child-killer that slept a few feet away from your children. Prayers to them both...
I’m not sure how much you believe in the paranormal but there’s plenty of videos on here documenting weird things occurring when the K-9 unit was in the house. Chris even mentioned the night he committed the crime, he could not sleep due to strange occurrences happening in the house. Which explains why he went to stay with them. So creepy
when courts were first set up the jury was made up of people that know you well....because the people that know you..spot when you are lying...much better system that is now ruined.. jurors now have never met the person they are trying to judge..this then gives all power to the prosecution and defence lawyers...MONEY TALKS BASICALLY.
The woman investigator and lie tester is so good. She can be so warm and comforting, and then being manipulative, in a good way of course. There are other videos where she manipulated him before the lie detector test that is pure masterclass. She should have her own channel.
An innocent person would curse the FBI agent out, because an innocent person would get piss that they are wasting time with him than finding his family.
1. They are trying to find his family while he's being interrogated. There's more than one person working the case. 2. Your assumption is simply not true. That's how YOU would react. Doesn't make it the normal response people would have. It also doesn't make it abnormal, though. There are some who would react that way. But there are many who would be scared to death and distraught but calm because they know they had nothing to do with the disappearance of their loved ones. Easiest thing to remember is the truth and if your story doesn't change and you had nothing to do with it, you really have nothing to get angry or pissed about or extremely nervous about. The FBI and law enforcement are doing a job and unfortunately as the husband/significant other, you're always going to be considered a possible suspect. 3. Getting angry and belligerent could also give the impression that you're purposely trying to make it look like you had nothing to do with it. It could also show that you're impulsive and have a pretty bad temper. Two things that you don't want law enforcement to realize about you when it comes to the investigation of your wife's murder. Chris was a horrible liar. He lied about having an affair initially. If there was ever a time to come clean about it, it was after they first asked him. But he lied. It shows that if he's willing to lie initially about something like that, he's definitely going to lie about killing his family. That's what did him in. He could have easily freaked out and gone, "Why the fuck are you questioning me??? I loved those kids, you mother fucker. Go out and find them and let me go" and still have killed them.
No emotion through the whole thing, then BAM. As soon as they mention getting his coworkers involved he breaks down. Clearest sign of narcissism. He doesn't want his true persona to be known to the people he's put up a front with for years.
What’s sad is that EXACTLY what happened to jonbenet is so completely obvious. Like unbelievably. There is all the evidence needed to have closed that case years ago but unfortunately the parents money and power will keep the case cold forever
This guy had everything I dream of. Beautiful wife, kids, lovley home. Destroyed it with his own hands. RIP to all that suffered in hands of this monster. X
@@dlrsnate5100 they were literally his kids and he was the one who cheated on his wife and you're still out here being a dick. Nothing justified her murder
Khels Jr child here, 11 years old, of course I can find this man guilty. Just by looking at how (childish) he talks, the face expressions, emotions, body language, etc. He’s so desperate this over with, he thinks that having to accept and have confidence to do everything will make people trust him more.
Coco Hale I know what you mean but at the same time the only people that he wanted to get rid of were the ones that would alter his plans for his double life. They didn’t know.
They must be in HUGE DISBELIEF. You know, killers are "normal" people. They act completely innocent, and they're very "nice" people. That's why you cant trust NOBODY. Don't trust strangers and even family friends. It's sad. Your nice and respectful next door neighbor could be a killer and you wouldn't even know.
patrick gorski well said. I have to keep reminding myself that. Especially since I have kids. I don’t trust nobody with my kids. I even homeschool them.
Just imagine being a good person, following the rules, trying not to hurt anyone. Then you have nothing to worry about. You never have to deal with any of this
That's not always the case. I speak from personal experience that you can still have something to worry about when the police get involved. They are human and make mistakes. Fortunately this isn't something that happens very often. Usually, yes, obeying laws and not having done anything wrong works out in ones favor.
but he had already been asked previously what he had loaded into his truck on the day of the murder so i guess he was just trying to throw that in there as it would stick to what he had previously said
Ya it's weird... They are talking about the possibility of his kids getting murdered and instead of freaking out he says "if he does something to those kids" as if they are some stranger's kids!!!
I'm sure this is not atypical of someone who is guilty of something they did. It's classic psychological distancing. They aren't his kids, they are THOSE kids. He can't even say "my kids" knowing he fucking snuffed the life out of them and STUFFED them into an oil tank.
He did it consistently in the initial news interview he gave when he was "pleading" for their pretend kidnappers to release them. He talked about the house feeling empty without "anybody" there (focused on his own feelings, and not referring to them specifically). Like @James said, it is "distancing" language, and it gives away his lack of caring. In that interview, he also took slight digs at his kids, which is another common thing that killers do after the fact. I don't remember exactly what he said, but it was something about one of the girls being too hyperactive I think. A typical loving parent would instead be talking about them with only the highest praise, and certainly would be claiming them as their own ("my babies/my family".) It's scary how bad he was at even faking being a loving husband/father, considering he'd played that role for years.
It’s referred to as ‘distancing’. He’s trying to distance himself from their reality by not using their names directly. Truly a narcissistic psychopath, and a dumb one at that!
The story he told his dad truly made me mad. A true narc to blame everything on you and seem like the victim.. I hate she got caught up with that monster from the start smh
And it’s such a stupid story if you really think about it. Why would she murder her kids because Chris is cheating? Most women take the kids anyways. So it’s just the dumbest excuse ever that she killed the girls and he killed her after. And his dad is even dumber for believing it without hesitation.
he just went with the scenario the female officer created. It's as if he hadn't even thought of using that ploy as an out. As soon as she fed him the notion of did Shannan do something to the children, you could almost hear the cogs in his brain going click, click, click, Sickening.
Christopher Baskey Let’s be fair though, that’s only because he knew Chris personally. Police need to be neutral when investigating a person and not let themselves be swayed by the opinion of family members and friends. Of course, witness accounts are taken into consideration, but they can’t act like that’s evidence alone. Neighbor Nate could have had a negative bias against Chris already, and the police can’t just take someone’s word and leave it at that. Even if Nate was right, the police were only doing their job by going through the established procedure and due diligence. “Innocent until proven guilty” isn’t just a fancy phrase, it’s an established American right.
@@DontCryAboutIt Are you sure? They are not hard to read, once you understand how they work and what makes them tick. All you have to do is follow a checklist. I know many people that spotted a psychopath at least once.

Who is ‘them people ‘? This Guy is so dumb that he cant even string a proper sentence together that makes sense , and also he seems to copy the words the detective uses and keeps using those words eg. Marital discord
One of the many things that are mindblowing about this case is that he sat down with the officers incriminating himself out of his own volition. He never asked for a lawyer, never thought of ceasing to cooperate. I find this aspect of it all to be absolutely shocking.
Because he wanted to look as innocent as possible, proving he had nothing to hide by answering their questions freely. He was in deep water at that point, there was no turning back because the authorities now knew his family was missing....their bodies at his work site. So if he played the “she may have run off” card, he thought the cops would say “oh ok, that makes sense, maybe she will be home soon”. By saying I want a lawyer, he feared they would suspect him and start searching his job site and find their bodies.
I think by him showing himself to be compliant, and going to the police station voluntarily, Chris truly believed that that would 'prove' he was innocent.
FBI agent: *breathes* Derek: Here is the agent making a decision on whether he wants to arrest chris or if he should try to attack him with a laser to get him to speak
He will lose lots of money on a divorce (house, ......+ pay child support). While killing them will get him her insurrance and money from gouvernement, friends, gofundme....
Sad thing is. I think he's the kind of person who given the chance to go back in time and do it all over again. He'd still kill them but just try and get away with it "better" .
I don't think he was gonna do it again if he knew what was going to happen like how it is now but then again he might have come up with a strategy that was smarter and better than this one 🤷
It’s been a few years since the murders - I was obsessed with this case when it first happened. I was actually in Denver on a business trip when it happened so I had a sort of strange desire to know & really understand what happened; I was glued to the tv & internet reading & watching every single thing published about this case at the time & for weeks & months after. Years later I’ve come to the conclusion that Chris intended to kill Shannan. He pounced when she came to bed that night. I honestly don’t think he planned to kill the girls initially. I don’t think he had any plans for the girls at all. I think he’s seriously THAT stupid. He was so obsessed with Nicky & needed Shannan out of the way so that he could continue his relationship. I think he killed Shannan & then Bella came into the room immediately after & asked what was wrong with her mom, making him realize 1) he had a witness & 2) he couldn’t just make Shannan disappear without also making the girls disappear. I don’t think he had a plan for how he would murder the girls because I don’t think it was plan, I think it was a “game time” decision. Not that any of that is really relevant to the outcome of this case, but I really don’t think he set out that evening/morning to murder his kids. Ultimately he did kill them & he’s exactly where he deserves to be for the rest of his life. I hope he slowly rots in that prison cell & I hope he is haunted that the memories of his beautiful family. I hope he suffers horrible nightmares, I hope he’s working in the auto shop at the prison & is forced to scrub oil from beneath his finger nails every day & falls asleep to the smell of oil every night, a harsh reminder of where he hid the little bodies of his children. He’s a disgusting human being. Shannan, Bella, Cici & Niko deserved so, soo much more.
And what’s more disgusting is that when these emotionless k**lers act they get a power high and get an urge to repeat the act. He mentioned somewhere that he had almost an out of body experience, I think it had to do with that. RIP 😔💔
WOW. I've never seen a full interrogation like this - talk about some incredibly talented professionals. It must take a toll on them, having to involve themselves in such horrible situations...
In most countries they all have regular therapy sessions, lest their work would quite literally kill them. Don't know about the US though, but for all the wrongs one can find with the legal system there, I'd be very surprised if that particular safety net was left out entirely.
Hes probably a spoiled brat as a kid who ran from all his problems. He found a younger woman so he wanted a reset button. I think he only meant to kill his wife but included the children so he dont have to take care of them.
@an0n xx some people are mentally stronger than others,in terms of street warfare, that aside a family killer is fucked up type of killer and kill in a weak mental state so they're more likely to fold

I’m shocked of FBI interrogators because they definitely have a high degree in psychology and it blows my mind how they can manipulate people into telling the truth. Psychology has always been so cool to me.
It's so awesome to see how Chris fell right into their tactics. They purposefully fed him the story of Shanann hurting the girls and Chris hurting her in retaliation. That was enough to arrest him, even if he didn't confess to the whole thing right then and there.
15:05 something you didn’t pick up on was that he referred to his kids as “these kids” and “those kids”, the majority of people would say “my kids” just goes to show his distancing between himself and his family likely as a coping mechanism
He distanced himself emotionally for that piece of @ss on the side and that is why it was easy for him to kill them. He thought they were their mother who he hated.
YES ugh this was what turned my stomach the most. A worried father would get possessive, "MY kids" "MY family" "MY girls" whereas Chris was doing everything he could to distance himself from them. Disgusting, but a fascinating behavioral study.
Chris bawling when he realizes his coworkers are going to find out about him killing his wife. Never cried when faced with the thought he'll never see his wife and kids again.
I have acted more panicked when my cat ran out and within 20 minutes made flyers and was at my neighbor's hysterical. A panicked relative won't turn down prospective places to look. There have been times if my cat was missing I'd look everywhere . Even in small drawers and the fridge just because I'm that panicked and I want to eliminate ANY possiblity not just say "nahhh". When you're panicked nothing seems too ridiculous.
@Brexit Monger the fact he strangled his daughters is insane.....I don't agree with killing the wife but it's possible to have a disagreement but to strangle your little girls is just insane
In hindsight, it's so crazy to think how long he kept up with the "hard working family man" persona. The house, the decorations, Shanann's social media, you would never guess this man was capable of having an afair and anihilating his entire family just for a piece of ass. You could easily tell this man feels nothing for his deceased family. Even the FBI investigator mentioned how he didn't even shed a single tear for them. The only time we ever saw him cry was when the judge sentenced him to 5 life sentences.
Well two times, when he started crying over the interrogators saying they could send his co workers. A true narcissist to the core, didn’t care about what he did to his family but broke down over the thought his co workers finding out exactly who he really is.
I feel so stupid when I listen to the fbi interrogators talk. They skillfully pull the answer out of people with such ease, and I’m just sat here like *bruh*
It’s interesting to watch. Law enforcement gets a lot of flack, but their jobs are tough and for justice to be served they need skilled and smart people like the interrogator in this video!
They're really good and depending on who you're with can really make or break the person I once had an interrogation of sorts I had to speak with a detective because I had finally told my mother what her boyfriend had done to me for 3 years and she didn't believe me but she's still made a report about it but I felt so uncomfortable talking to him about it with her there cuz I was 17 and before she took me there she had flat out told me her first reaction her first words out of her mouth where You just don't want me to be happy for the rest of my life I will never forget those words she didn't believe me but she knew if I told my grandparents they would never ever help her with anything so she did it to cover her ass I wish I had the courage back then to tell the detective I want to talk to you but I don't want my mother here I could have put the man away but I didn't detectives jobs are very hard and because I was so freaked out she was there he couldn't really do anything because he couldn't tell if I was telling the truth I wish to God I could go back and change that I would have told him everything down to the last detail but I was embarrassed and still kept thinking in my mind she doesn't believe me so I thought the police wouldn't
Yep my first thought....MY KIDS.....it shows detachment, that he doesn't hold any true emotional bond. In this context anyway. Because I've said before "ahhh my kids must have had some sugar today....these kids are driving me up a wall" in a joking tone with friends. But if my kids were missing.....MY MY MY KIDS, and the last thing I'd be doing either like during the discussion of what he thought should happen to the person responsible.....it was like he was asking for advice, trying to clarify for his own personal gain, what happens when someone is found guilty of harming another. It was emotionless. I'd be screaming and sobbing like wtf I dont even want to think about that, we're going to find my kids.....and if they asked more I'd say I hope the person rots in hell, or prison for rest of their lives, if it were a death penalty state I'd say that. But I certainly wouldn't be asking about legal proceedings, at that point I don't give a f*** I want to find my kids! He's such a narcissistic psychopath he didn't even know all the red flags he put up, but honestly i guess thats good or they may never have gotten the truth. :(
Normally they would use the very famous combination of the good cup bad cup..sometimes just one and sometimes two of same.. guess they just read what their subject wants and then acts in the necessary way to get what they want out of him

Yeah i am sure he was planning a lot of things like eliminating her phone purse etc maybe even her clothes but the friend put a spoke on all these plans
he said she killed the girls, yet, he was the one who dumped their bodies in oil tanks, a loving father, even after doing that to his ''evil'' wife to ''avenge'' his daughters and knowing he would get a life sentence, he would leave the bodies of his daughters intact so his family could arrange a proper funeral for them
Man I applaud the interrogators, they have an extremely overwhelming job. Like holy crap how they can just calmly talk to a killer like that is crazy, but I suppose someone has to do that job or these guys wouldn't get caught!
@@Poetry4Peace -- Yeah, dumb, but he was guilty with maybe a twinge of conscience left. But he lied like a professional. They had to get him before he got any more comfortable with lying. Those interrogators are professionally trained, but you could see it was difficult for them to keep cool. It was just the knowledge that if they lost their cool, he would maybe have gotten off. The biggest, or maybe the second biggest thing they accomplished, was finding the victims. I can't imagine how much worse it would have been for family, on both sides, to not know there Shannan and her children were. I tend to think he killed them while they were asleep or I think there would have been more defensive evidence. A cold killer.
@@TheHealthyHabitClub And the fact that he has since admitted that he DID kill his family to be with Nichol Kessinger just makes it more obvious that anytime he did cry or show ANY emotion (like at his sentencing), he wasn't crying for the things he did or because he regretted it or missed his kids...he was crying because his plan for being with his mistress didn't work. He admitted that was all he cared about. He said he had no feelings for his family and he would have "killed anyone to be with her" or some crap like that. And now he realizes he is in jail for life. With no one. For eternity. No wife. No kids. No Nichol. No chance for a future with anyone. The way it should be.
I wonder if he actually thought his coworkers wouldn't find out... i'm sure every single one of them found out very soon after there was police turning up at the work site and he was arrested and it was on the news
Did this monster actually think he was going to get away with this? I knew he was guilty as soon as the Police called him and he casually took his time coming home. The neighbor was the best detective. He KNEW that Chris was hiding something.
Anxiety Entertainment it was thanks to Shan’ann’s friend Nickole. If she hadn’t called the cops, Chris probably would have cleaned up and gotten away with murder.
@Jacob Barnes EXACTLY! If his marriage was that bad and having children was getting in the way of the new life he wanted, he could have JUST LEFT. What would a divorce Do? Ruin him financially? Maybe, but it would eventually be over and both parties would be able to move on with their lives. Now he's not only lost EVERYTHING, he's now and forever a man who not only murdered his wife, He also murdered his two little girls and unborn son. If I live to be a thousand, I will NEVER understand WHY he would have done this.He should just kill himself and save taxpayer's money.
Made my heart hurt to see him. Imagine the mix of emotions going through his body. Loving his son like a father should, while his son's actions also leaves him in complete disgust and despair. What a tradegy to completly ruin his own life at old age, beyond saving. Knowing his son's guilt for the rest of his life. Also knowing HE RAISED that man, not knowing his son was antisocial and a probable psychopath. He can literally see the whole timeline of his son's life. Always be reminded what his son's birth was leading up to.
Him saying “I want everybody back. I want them back,” monotonously is * so * obvious. And addressing his wife and children as ‘them’ shows he doesn’t care or regret killing them at all.
I actually feel he did wish they were back at that exact point but not for the reasons you would hope. Kind of like a go back in time/get out of this trouble now and find a better way to do it without getting caught.

After hours spent outside in the cold my dad finally found me and told me he was hiding under my bed all along. I can't tell you the relief I felt. I cried.

Absolutely!!!!
true

Nate is real FBI. he cracked chris in second

I thought I misheard that
Who is ‘them people ‘?

Low iq
I think by him showing himself to be compliant, and going to the police station voluntarily, Chris truly believed that that would 'prove' he was innocent.
Then putting the blame on his wife, that she killed her girls

He will lose lots of money on a divorce (house, ......+ pay child support).
While killing them will get him her insurrance and money from gouvernement, friends, gofundme....
This reinforces my decision to never have kids
Child support, the house the money
He will not think to get a divorce because he’s psychopath evil!
Sad thing is. I think he's the kind of person who given the chance to go back in time and do it all over again. He'd still kill them but just try and get away with it "better" .
Sad but true
true, he cried not because he lost his family, he just cried because he got caught.
he don't regret because he killed them, he regret because he couldn't get away with the crime he made.
@@Xavier-dw2tm Yes sir.
RIP 😔💔
The fact that he didn't edited it. is crazy 😳 also read all that without re-reading a single word 👌💯
He admitted he tried to kill the girls first (smothering) but it turned out they were still alive after he killed Shanann so he took them there
WOW. I've never seen a full interrogation like this - talk about some incredibly talented professionals. It must take a toll on them, having to involve themselves in such horrible situations...
I didn't know too. The FBI are amazing at their job! Such clever tactics, one by one. They
ve had so much experience at this, how horrible.
@@Yonatan24 Yeah, so clever they get false confessions and convict innocent people.
They train for it, but I bet it is hard.

In most countries they all have regular therapy sessions, lest their work would quite literally kill them. Don't know about the US though, but for all the wrongs one can find with the legal system there, I'd be very surprised if that particular safety net was left out entirely.
how he sobs & breaks down at the thought of exposure to friends & colleagues, but never once at his daughters dissappearance..narcissism is vile
He was genuinely upset at the thought of his coworkers finding them but never one time showed emotion about his family being gone. It’s insane
The guy is a monster. Even in interviews he was smiling that they are gone.
Hes probably a spoiled brat as a kid who ran from all his problems. He found a younger woman so he wanted a reset button. I think he only meant to kill his wife but included the children so he dont have to take care of them.
What? Are they so stupid why??
Why! Only because he fell in love with another! So be it why kill your wife and children?
It’s kinda bad ass how interrogators work😂

I’m shocked of FBI interrogators because they definitely have a high degree in psychology and it blows my mind how they can manipulate people into telling the truth. Psychology has always been so cool to me.
It's so awesome to see how Chris fell right into their tactics. They purposefully fed him the story of Shanann hurting the girls and Chris hurting her in retaliation. That was enough to arrest him, even if he didn't confess to the whole thing right then and there.
They are great but let’s be honest, this fucker isn’t exactly Mensa material.
The deception they use is crazy. Sucks how they're legally allowed to lie to you.
Would you prefer people to not get punished for hurting others? Just don't kill someone. Easy.
you really concerned about ethics when it’s a disgusting excuse of a human being who has murdered 4 innocent people

15:05 something you didn’t pick up on was that he referred to his kids as “these kids” and “those kids”, the majority of people would say “my kids” just goes to show his distancing between himself and his family likely as a coping mechanism
Николас I heard that when he was talking I'm like they are your kids not some kids that you seen on tv or on the street.
He distanced himself emotionally for that piece of @ss on the side and that is why it was easy for him to kill them. He thought they were their mother who he hated.
Николас I’ve noticed that a lot of killers do that
No. He is a psychpath, he can't care.
Yep picked up on that. The real emotions only started arising when he thought about how being caught would effect him. A pure narcissist.
Which is amazing Derek's view that he's a narcissist.
Let's just bash every hair on his head!

Good catch, caught that too. Was thinking the exact same thing.. I've never referred to mine as THESE. It's indicative of detachment. What a pos..
J B I don’t even refer to other people’s kids like that he has no emotion for his daughters

Fascinating how the FBI is empathetic and almost gentle to get to the truth. I always imagined threatening, aggressive tactics.
It probably depends on what works best. The type of person likely dictates what techniques they use.
Yes being '"nice" will deff Make a person feel Atleast Comfortable and cooperate

During WWII, American counter-intelligence found the most effective tactic to get German POWs to talk was to simply be nice to them.

@@Poetry4Peace -- Yeah, dumb, but he was guilty with maybe a twinge of conscience left. But he lied like a professional. They had to get him before he got any more comfortable with lying. The biggest, or maybe the second biggest thing they accomplished, was finding the victims. I can't imagine how much worse it would have been for family, on both sides, to not know there Shannan and her children were. he was more emotional about his coworkers finding out what he did then the fact he killed them.
Typical for a narcissist. More worried about ego and self image, than the actual crime, or what he did.

Yep, poor guy, lost two granddaughters, his pregnant daughter in law and the son he thought he had all in one day.
