The conflicts of the past clearly could be avoided/resolved, apprehensions are addressed. Despite occasional rough times in any relationship, there is mutual, deep need/appreciation for each other & shared values moving forward!! In this better scenario, I would have idealized this if I were in my younger years having lived in the USA..
Why was Karen asking such dumb question? How will US defind attack? It was already mention that only an armed attack will trigger response. Does karen hoping to hear a statement from carlson that a verbal attack or harrasment was also included in those treaty? That was such stupid thinking. The only way we can stop bullying is making our own millitary defense capable, even if we have many allies. that won't stop bullying if our own defense is lacking. our allies cannot help us with that. they can only make supporting statement but expect little or no millitary reponse, its our sole obligation to protect our territory.
I agree. The AFP should be stronger than the Chinese Armed Forces. China has 2.5 million soldiers in their Armed Forces -- the Philippines has 177,000 soldiers. Therefore, we need to increase the number of the AFP. We need mandatory ROTC and immediate assimilation into the AFP after training.
I agree with all of this. For the benefit of our country, the Philippines. Remember, we don't have the ability monetarily to improve our military. We need the US to do that. That's why China is bullying us. Period. Now, if we are not so currupt and invested those money for the improvements of our national security... i dont think these other countries will easily bully us.
Taiwan makes the Philippines hard to conquer! Taiwan must be conquered first for PRC/China to conquer the Philippines!!! Filipinos have to thank the nationalism and patriotism of the Taiwanese! The patriotism of the Taiwanese people should be a model for Filipinos! No defeatist attitude , no debate! For China to totally claim the South China Sea, China must totally control the Philippines and make it a security buffer just like Tibet in the Himalayas and North Korea in the Korean Peninsula!!!

In reality, Filipinos should help defend Taiwan! If ever Taiwan is invaded, Philippines is next! Taiwan is less than 200 km from the Philippines! For China to totally claim the South China Sea, PRC military must invade and totally claim the Philippines! The militarized/weaponized atolls near or within Philippine territory is not for decoration. PRC military and government have made the Philippines a military objective/military target! Philippines and Taiwan used to be military allies ! PRC government supported the NPA/CCP rebels ! So who is the ally and who is the enemy!
