Thank-you thank-you thank-you for this video!!! I now know how to actually make flavorful, and edible brown rice. I'm not ashamed to say that I'll be 66 next week and have not been able to fix brown rice that tastes really good. It just goes to show that you learn something new everyday, nobody's too old to learn and nobody's too young to teach. Bless your heart Pj Mama :)
@aCCidental L00KS I think what they mean by that is the process. When you make Mexican rice you first fry the rice to a golden color in either oil or butter like the lady did in the video, then you add the water or whatever liquid you are using to finish cooking the rice in low heat. As opposed to just throwing the rice in water and boiling it.
Thank youuu! I made this tonight. I added onion powder and garlic powder and salt free all purpose seasoning. Then cooked the rice with chicken broth in the instant pot. It came out so flavorful!
This recipe is great!! My mom didn’t like how she cooked her brown rice and she prefer white rice instead. But when I tried this recipe for her she absolutely LOVES IT ❤️ Thank you!!
Thank you! My brown rice was horrible! Had to switch because of diabetes. I was trying to pre make the rice so I didn’t have to make it every time. Your steps and recipe made this so much more tolerable to eat right. Thanks so much.
Just watched a lady from India do it this way. Way-to-go. It is delicious. Just got a new stock pot and wanted to see how long it would take, thanks for video.
This looks good! I do mine similar but a little different where I saute onions then pour in the chicken stock and cook the rice for 30-34 minutes on low simmer, then steam for 10 min. Always comes out good. You gotta work for brown rice! It's not a quick cook but better for your health long term!
Hey guys try cooking Brown Rice with these easy steps... makes for a very tasty side dish 😉 I made my rice with Chicken Stock, you could also use Vegetable Sock or water...
You’re the only one on UA-cam that know how to make brown rice lol everyone else is cooking it in boiled water and dumping water out. Thank God for people like you. This was really good.
Everything up to the point of toasting the rice will be the same. After toasting, you would just add the rice and stock into the rice cooker. Put on auto-cook for about 9-15 minutes (depends on if you actually soak the rice since soaking cuts down on cook time). After the time is up, you can check the rice and then let rest for around 5 minutes or cook longer, whichever is needed.
