  • Healthy Brown Rice Pulao | Fluffy Brown Rice Pilaf | Ami’s Cooking
Healthy and delicious Brown Rice Pulao or Pilaf is a great alternative to classic White Rice Pulao. Also, it’s a diabetic friendly Rice dish. No one will know it’s made from Brown Rice until they are told the truth. Please make and serve this healthy rice dish and amaze everyone.
    Brown Rice Pulao Ingredients:
    1 cup brown rice
    1 large onion
    1 cup mixed vegetables
    1 tablespoon ginger paste
    2 tablespoon oil
    1 tablespoon ghee
    1 bay leaf
    2 pieces cinnamon
    4-5 cloves
    8-10 black pepper
    1 teaspoon cumin seeds
    1 tablespoon cashews
    salt to taste
    red chili to taste
    1 teaspoon homemade garam masala
    1 tablespoon soaked raisins
    Brown Rice Pulao Ingredients:
    1. Add water to 1 cup of brown rice. Wash 3-4 times. After washing, add plenty of water to the rice and let it soak for 1 hour. Rice will be ready to cook afterwards.
    2. Turn stove onto a medium flame. Add 2 tablespoons of oil, 1 tablespoon ghee, 1 bay leaf, 2 pieces of cinnamon, 4-5 cloves, 8-10 black pepper, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds to the pot. Let it splatter.
    3. Add 1 tablespoon cashews and saute for 30 seconds.
    4. Add the thinly sliced onion to the pot. Saute for 3-4 minutes or until the onion is translucent in color.
    5. Add ginger paste and mixed vegetables. Saute for 1 minute. Then, add salt to taste, red chili powder to taste, and 1 teaspoon of homemade garam masala. Combine everything.
    6. Add 1 tablespoon of soaked raisins. Mix well.
    7. Then, add 2 cups of water and the drained rice. Stir well. Boil for 2 minutes. Cover and cook the pot for another 10 minutes. Rice will still have water and it won't be fully cooked yet. Cover again and lower the flame. Let it cook for another 10 minutes. The rice should have no more moisture left. It will be well cooked but not sticky or mushy. Turn off the heat and serve the pulao.
