  • Erica Mena has a history of being engulfed by drama, and her relationships tend to follow the same patterns over and over and over again. Many people believe that a lot of the tomfoolery she experiences could be avoided if only Erica paid attention to the red flags.

Never tell one of THESE men. You should be able to talk to your significant others about damn near anything. Especially your past. If you can’t do that then that means you need to end that relationship bc it’s not going anywhere. Either it’s a you, them, or both

Just because Erica was physically developed and stayed with Raul after she became of legal age, doesn't change the fact that it started when she was legally unable to consent. I don't think it should be spoken of, even now in her adulthood, in the same context as her other relationships in which she was on equal/closer standing with her partner.

Your energy creates your world period. There are cycles and then there are excuses. Every human on the planet has a story and a testimony of tragedy including myself personally. But there has to come a time when you have to put your hurt, ego, pride and personal will to the side and make the necessary steps to not be that person who was hurt at 5, 15, or any age and take the grown up healing steps of forgiving the past, stop blaming everyone else for your pain, take responsibility for your actions and the pain you caused others, realize the generational curse you are walking in and accept you need to heal and need help from a higher power outside of yourself and what the world can bring with temporary self gratification. When every time someone acts reckless then tells their trauma story to justify their actions and does not apologize nor accept responsibility for the actions of the hurt they have caused others that person is using their trauma as a weapon to gain sympathy, to win arguments and to excuse their behavior and not heal from it and Erica Mena has been doing this since the beginning of this show. In the book of John 5 in the bible Jesus met a ill man at the pool of Bethesda. It says in the bible Jesus already knew he had been sick for 38 years. He asked the man do you want to be healed and at first the man gave Jesus all the excuses of no one helping him and he's been this way for years, etc. Then Jesus gave a command to walk again to be healed and instead of giving Jesus more excuses he accepted responsibility and said yes to coming out of his situation and accept healing and only then he was fully healed and able to walk again. This is what I mean by we all have a story and a tragedy that can keep us bound if we choose but we all have a personal choice to move forward into our healing as well and not be defined by our past and no one can do this for us but us. I watched this show in my 18-20s and felt for Erica then stopped for years and to see Erica acting the same way as I watch at 30 I don't feel the sympathy now I feel someone who wants sympathy not accountability.

Erica Mena isn't that much older than me. It never dawned on me at the time I saw her on XXL back in 2003 that she was an underage girl. She was only 16 years old, but there she was sexy posing for a bunch of grown men in studios and god knows what else. I was a kid thinking she was a grown woman on that cover. As far as her relationship history, she doesn't have a track record of being an angel herself, but I still can't help but feel bad for her. Especially seeing how her relationship with Safari has taken such a toll in her. She seems so hurt. She's obviously been dealing with toxic men on a romantic/sexual level from a very young age -- like most inner city black and latina women. Even when the signs are so obvious, when that's the only thing you've ever known, you sort of have a dysfunctional subconscious attraction to the toxic even if you claim you're tired off it.
EDIT: Holy sh!t. I just found out about Erica Mena supposedly making fun of a woman not being about to have kids. Wtf. I always knew she was a bit nutty, but looks like she has a history of going for the jugular. I take back what I said about feeling bad for her as far as how Safari has treated her. Looks like she simply ran into somebody that's capable of being more toxic than her. #karma

@@naejam.548 we understand how she said it but it’s still not true. My brother got a Spanish woman pregnant and did nothing but beat on her and cheat. He’s black. I’m so ashamed I don’t even have a relationship with him anymore. But the point is black men don’t cater to any race of woman more than the other. All these examples prove that that’s simply a lie….

Thank you for this video, now I have an understanding why she is the way she is, no guidance growing up, choosing 💩 guys. She's beautiful but she needs to love herself, put her kids first and seek therapy.

it is sad that erica was mistreated as a child while she was growing up and the relationships that she had was no better i hope that she can heal from all the trauma that she endured in her life and learn to put herself first and love herself and focus on her children i am a fan of hers since the first time i saw her on love and hip hop she was my favorite still is today no matter anyone says about her i support her she deserves respect love and kindness she did not deserve to get mstreated i myself growing up have gotten that and with romantic relatiionships too and right now i'm struggling with mental health but trying to take steps to work on me i wish erica mena the best of luck on her journey i want her to be happy and live her life without the negativity

If XXL is still around, they need their asses shut down, arrested, and sued cause I'm sure they knew she was a child!

She must first heal herself so, she can be an excellent mother & teacher to her children. You'll conquer this my beloved.

This video was presented very well. I knew she had difficulties in her childhood but didnt know as many details as you gave us. I haven't liked her in the past because she dumps people so easily. She is very argumentative as well, but she had a very rough childhood and needed a compassionate and constructive mentor as a teenager and beyond.
