    This is a demonstration of my baby's feeding. My husband came up with this method and after trying different things and going through a lot of stress and anxiety this one worked. And it doesn't require days of anxiety to get to the other side.
    The key is to link good feelings to feeding instead of bad ones. In this video you can see how we do it.
    No more bottle aversion.
    My baby didn't want to eat sometimes for 9-10 hours and was crying like crazy out of hunger and also out of fear of eating. This was the hardest thing to go through as a mom. And such a relief to feed normally again.
    This doesn't mean the baby will eat always. She may refuse it because she is not hungry, or maybe she is teething and linked some pain to the feeding, but with this method, it's easy to just relink good feelings again. I feel like I have the necessary help to get my baby to eat happily.

    I am so happy I found this video because there is truly nothing that explained this as well as you guys did. It finally makes sense to me what's happening. It is so frustrating though because I'm so scared for my baby to go long without eating. I'm scared he will lose weight. It's the hardest thing I've ever had to go through but I'm at least hopeful that there is something I can try. Thank you for this I will update you .

    • @BottleAversion
      @BottleAversion  5 років тому +2

      I was scared too! Since then she went without eating for 40 hours, 24 hours without any liquid and she was fine. I needed this experience to stop worrying about how much she eats. And that 40 hours wasn't even bottle aversion! She just stopped liking the formula and it took me that much time to figure it out. So try not to worry about him not eating enough. There is also a clarification video I made so I explain it a bit more how to do it exactly. I hope you will find some relief and your baby will start eating better soon! Let me know please, I'm curious!

    I hear women talking (on UA-cam, natch) about how they don't want to give up breastfeeding because of the bond they have with their baby. It makes me wonder about the mother's relationship with the father and why she wants to leave him out of the bonding. But you have shown me that you have a deeper bond with your baby than most of those mothers who nurse the same kid for three years.

      Katerina, we had the same exact issue. Its due to him not wanting to eat due to stress because of force feeding. Please read a book by Rowena Bennett. We followed her guidelines and it worked for us. Just like this video, don’t force feed him. Feed him when he wants too. Our baby doesn’t like to eat, and will cry and fuss because of hunger but would rather have hunger pains than eat. So we could only feed him when he’s asleep. We followed her program, by only offering to feed him when he’s hungry and it worked. The first day was horrible, he only ate 17 oz, I was so worried he might lose weight. The next day he was hungry, crying. We offered to feed him, and after 2-3 rejections we stopped just as instructed by the book. And will offer it again at a later time 30 mins to an hour. Fortunately for us his pacifier keeps him calm. It’s a pacifier by Mam, so I ordered that bottle which has a similar shape nipple as the pacifier. While he was watching his cartons (hungry), I offered him milk on the side making sure he doesn’t see the bottle, once it wet his lips he thought about it, then I insert it in his mouse to see if he’ll take the bottle and he finally did. It was a changing moment for me, that he could feed while awake. Follow the book, it takes time. It took us 2 days for him to feed normal. You can msg me if you have questions.

    Szilvia, thank you and your husband for sharing this! I have been reading a book by Rowena Bennet about aversions but it feels so complex. Our nanny tried this once and it worked on Friday. But it didn’t work after? Do we have to keep at it? Weirdly my baby boy takes the bottle from my husband no problem (a little fuss when getting into feeding position but he takes it). It’s myself that he won’t take a bottle from and my nanny as of this past week. Can he sense my stress and anxiety?! Will this continue to work? I need to try to put him on a boppy pillow on the floor since when he’s in feeding position with me he freaks out. 😫

    • @BottleAversion
      @BottleAversion  5 років тому

      I've read Rowena's book too and I tried her method. It worked first but I was a mess during the process and the aversion came back and I just didn't have the heart to keep doing the method. And that's when my husband came up with his idea and it worked for us. We did it several times. First time my hubby did it for like 15 minutes then she ate. Then next time we had to do it less, sometimes we didn't have to do it and sometimes we had to. We just paid attention to her and responded accordingly. I had to put my girl on a pillow too because she screamed immediately when I sat down with her in the chair I used to feed her. After like a month on the pillow she was fine again on my lap. I think it's possible to get anchored to different people different ways. My baby used to take the bottle from both of us and also her grandma but since 6 months, she also takes it from me, nobody else. And she doesn't have any aversion. Maybe it's just preference. I made another video to explain this technique a little bit more in details. ua-cam.com/video/VtUCHiPTQs4/v-deo.html Good luck! Let me know if I can help you in any way! I know it's super hard to go through this.

      @Beachnut36 95601 She had it too after the 4 month vaccination! I think it was related to the oral vaccines. She screamed too as soon as I layed her down in the feeding position. For a while I fed her on a pillow, so she didn't know it's feeding time. She wasn't responding to the feeding, she was responding to her memories of the feeding. I have an other video where I clarify a bit. Have you watched that one? I suggest that you put her on a pillow and do this with the bottle and see how she reacts. Let me know how it goes! Jenny Hang Hi, I found the book called your baby’s bottle aversion by Rowena Bennet. We also had a phone consult with her and she told us what to do. It was the hardest few days because first day he wouldn’t drink anything and you cannot offer over and over agin. No pressure at all but after 4 days he started drinking and after a week he was drinking 28-30oz a day and after two weeks he was screaming for the bottle. I would Recommend it to anyone struggling with this.

      If you know it’s not due to pain. Check mouth for ulcers (white spots)
      , or acid reflux. If it’s not because of pain it could be due to her not wanting to eat due to stress because of force feeding. Please read a book by Rowena Bennett. This comment comes from somebody who has never experienced feeding struggles with their baby. Babies with medical conditions need to be tube-fed because they are hungry but don't eat. Other babies developed a strong negative response to feedings due to having medical conditions, experiencing trauma, or being forced to eat. They are hungry but can't eat. This video is for those parents. If it doesn't apply to you and your baby, I'm happy for you, but please keep your unhelpful thoughts to yourself.

      Yeah, Michelle. You're wrong. I'm only calling you out because your erroneous comment will lead people astray and cause them to hurt their baby. A baby with aversion will not eat and literally starve their bodies. They can die from this.
