Introducing bottle feeding to a 4 month old

- Teaching mom how to give her son a bottle after experiencing lots of frustration at home with caretakers and father trying to give him a bottle. What was taking an hour with lots of crying and frustration at home. Now with this technique baby was able to do a complete bottlefeed comfortably relaxed and under 20 minutes
This situation is IDENTICAL to my three m/o Grandson. I tried it today and he took the whole bottle! Thank you soooo much. We had looked at every other secret method and this is the only one that worked!

This really works!!! I just started yesterday introducing the bottle and he would not accept it. I was researching and found this video . As the nurse said the key is the pressure on the belly. At the beginning I was not doing it correctly and then I paid attention to everything she was saying and the key is definitely the pressure on the stomach.

This vidoe is so helpful for me and my baby.. I am thankful that i have watched this. This technique is so effective. First attempt, 2nd and so on were all successful. My baby is 8 months old and I am transitioning her to a bottle as I will start working soon.
I put a freshly pumped breast milk and made sure it is at room temperature. Then, I fed my baby in our nursing room.
At first she would cry but once I put the bottle in her mouth she instantly suck, no more dramas.

My little boy (4 months) is struggling to take a bottle after a brutal week of vomiting bug and first two teeth. He is much more comfortable in this position (first time not crying hysterically) but still struggling to latch on to the bottle. He is trying to feed but thrusting his tongue out! Any advice you could offer would be greatly received.

@@ally223 It did work!!! I started with side lying and she took the comotomo bottle this way post tongue tie. I continued 1 bottle a day with just 1-2 oz for about 6 weeks before daycare. I tried many bottles and finally the lanisoh (slow flow) were the winner for a good latch. I highly recommend those bottles! She took them right away! She now has to sit up to drink the bottle and pace feed. Her tie wasn’t fully released but she is doing fine and we are leaving her mouth alone. I still nurse her when she is home.

It worked the first time , like magic and immediately. After that he’s back to fussing, crying and spitting it out 😢I was so excited when it worked, I just have jinxed myself 😢Anything I could be doing wrong 🤷🏾♀️

Won't the hunger eventually make them take the bottle?
My baby will gag and throw up if a bottle is given to her…she doesn’t even deeply latch either and we’ve checked for ties but just never worried about the latch because my supply was never affected and she is gaining the correct weight but now that I need to go back to work the nipples on bottles seem to make her gag and I don’t know what I am going to do

my baby used to feed on a bottle until 2 and half months but since 2 and a half months old she is totally refusing bottle feeding and she is approaching 5 months. I am really confused. Any advice, please...?

Is she the mother herself trying to teach the baby? And is it first time trying and succeed ?
I am walking her through it and it is their first time trying this technique after struggling at home trying to get her baby to take the bottle

Sometimes mom will have milk with high lipase which has a different taste and older babies notice the difference in taste and smell and will refuse any bottle of breastmilk that has that issue.

Hello how are u. I have a soon to be 5month old that I only breastfeed that is cluster feeding on me. I've never heard of this until my friend let me know what I was going through after I told her my experience. Fast forward I have to go back to work tomorrow and I've been try to give her the bottle and formula for a month now and nothing working. Who do I call for help

My baby will be 4 months on the 22 of March we have been breast feeding and he would take every now and then a bottle but always refused them didn’t do good now I’m ready to introduce him to bottle completely but he hates it cries and seems like he just can’t get a hold of it like he tries to suck on it but no luck have tired dr browns, nuk, avent all natural feed but no luck

Thank you for the video, but I tried this and it didn't work. My baby is 4 mo th old and I breastfeed her and give her a bottle ( with breast milk) since she was born, but we didn't give her a bottle for about 3 to 4 weeks, and now she doesn't what the bottle, I'm desperate, please help me.
Check to make sure that your milk doesn’t have high lipase
@@breastfeedingfixers thank you very, it's right, my storaged breastmilk every time we heat it has a strong smell, what shoul i do? My frezzer is full of milk
would this technique work on a 9/10 month old infant? our breastfed little one took bottles until we went on a month long break from bottles. when we re-introduced bottles again recently, our little one continues to refuse it.
Yes it is commonly effective for older babies as well.
@@breastfeedingfixers thanks - will give this a try. many time nowadays, she would not open her mouth, push the bottles away, or would just bite the bottle nipples. would you have any suggestions for this?
@@meifenganniezhang4757 I would check to see if your baby prefers warm milk verses cold and try when your baby is hungry

I choose bottles and teats to match the flow of the mom’s breastmilk flow to prevent flow preference
My 3 months old baby takes bottle during the days but recently he only wants my breast before bed time. I breastfeed him night time though. I am not sure why he does not like bottle before sleep time.
He may just want the close contact with you which brings him comfort
I struggle with finding a good bottle. I think 1 i have from avent is good but the teat opening is too small and the one i got from mam has too big of an opening. Which one should i change. Do you have sugestions.
I like to try to match the flow of the breast so that baby doesn’t end up with a flow preference of a bottle and start to turn away from the breast because it isn’t flowing at the same rate as the bottle. I also like to make sure the baby is latching wide on a bottle because we want the baby to latch wide on the breast. Remember we don’t nipple feed at the breast we breast feed. Therefore we want the baby to not nipple feed on a bottle or they will want to do that at the breast. Does that make sense?
@@breastfeedingfixers Hi yes it does however idk how i would match the flow. I dont really mind if the baby stops breast feeding because she prefers the bottle. I have been trying to bottle teain to stop breast feeding. Shes nearly 5 months and has been having a hard time adjusting. Bites the bottle turns away, smiles and pushes the bottle, dose gag reflexes or cries and fusses. Will try your possition as never done it before, but just hope the bottle will work. Ivetried soo many different things Im about to give up at this point.

Yes it will and it is always easier for the baby no matter what age they are
My baby is almost 5 months old. This didn’t work (tried with the Comotomo bottle and the Lansinoh bottle). Any advice?

Yes and they haven't been of much help. Had numerous appointments but their focus is breastfeeding not bottles (or sippy cups, open cups, straw cups, 360 cups - we've tried them all).
