Today we take you to see the Icicle display at Ashigakubo in Saitama prefecture. Every winter you can see this breathtaking display and it’s only an hour and 40 minutes away from central Tokyo by train.
Super random comment but- Its so surreal watching you two together for so many years, I just checked and ive been following you guys since october 13th 2016. it's beein over 5 years! you've always made this channel feel like a family, and i excitedly talk about japan knowledge ive learned from both of you including small restaruants. I do hope some day i can go to japan and if im lucky ill bump into you two! I hope you both have a wonderful day
I love Satoshi when he is explaining and describing the food, taste, texture 🥰🥰 I really want to try the miso potatoes, sake gelato and the cookies (with tea).
Ooohhhhh!!!!!! I am sooooo excited to receive my order from Immi! Thank you for making it possible to enjoy ramen again without the added carbs! Now…..onto watching the rest of this fabulous vlog!
Those icicles are amazing and soooo beautiful! Made me think of stalagmites in a cave. The Laview train looks so nice and clean and cheerful with the yellow. I want to ride! Thank you so much for showing us. I'm always so happy when I see you have a new video out! 😄
The icicles were lovely but the trains and food stole the show for me. The modern La View train looked gorgeous and then the old school train brought the nostalgia. Really want to try the katsu and ice creams as they looked so good.
What a magical winter wonderland. The Icicles were so beautiful. I know you were in heaven Shinichi because you always love the beautiful little things in life. I'm glad you guys had a good time and had so much good food. 😊
Wow, love this trip from beginning to end. The train with big windows looks so spacious. The other train is nostalgic. The katsu and potato. Sakutto! I like tororo imo too. The icicles were beautiful. I love those parts that hang over. Your snacks also looked good. I would probably drink tea but Satoshi's beer bottle was cute.
I didnt "get" it until about 1/2 way through your hike through the ice area.. then it struck me.. this is a form of gardening... "ice gardening". It embodies the ephemeral aspects of wabi sabi in that it will melt away each year, is a transitory beauty. Thank you for sharing.
The ice was so majestic, and the sound of the water flowing underneath was tranquility in its best. So glad you got to see it all and experience the beauty. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful day with us. Yes I'd love to see more 🤞 🤗 🤗 🤗 🤗
coming to Japan in February and hunted down this video, because I remember watching it and have wanted to see these icicles since. After 3 years of not being able to return to Japan, Im so excited to see something spectacular.
What a wonderful video! The should have satisfied Shinichi’s fascination with icicles for the rest of the season❄️ Glad you enjoyed the train as well. It looked beautiful!
That train looked so cool! Wow, amazing! I wish we had such lovely trains! Those icicles were truly extraordinary! So beautiful. I wonder how they form like that. I'm glad you had a wonderful time and some delicious food 😄
Haha! I loved the snazzy retro music soundtrack as you rode the "sunshine train." The local food specialties all made my mouth water. And the blue-tinged icicles are amazing. Day trips like this are so much fun! I'd love to see more of Chichibu!
Shinichi must have loved all the icicles considering he kept talking about them on their Hokkaido trip. The formations are stunning and it looks beautiful. Thanks for taking us along with you on your excursion. It looks like it was a great time.
The icicles were amazing! The food looked quite delicious as well. I would love to see you go back and share that beauty with us. Thank you very much I enjoyed the video! ❤️

You know something i found here after Christmas? Egg Nog ice cream, OMG, it was perfection! I had been feeling down that I didn't enjoy enough egg Nog that season, and I found president's choice Egg Nog ice cream, and it was not all received here, so it was half price, i bought them until they were gone ,
Thank you for sharing this video TabiEats! Been wanting to visit Chichibu because of a particular private onsen, and this video makes us more eager to do so. More power to your channel and more videos please. Arigato gozaimasu!
What a fantastic journey with gorgeous weather you guys shared with us all today . The train Laview is a cutie love the yellow 💛 . But the food court ooh lala such good food . Always nice to see some places in Saitama hi-lighted in a positive way. It's often overlooked as just a prefecture that people live in to work in Tokyo, but it definitely has some wonderful spots of its own.
HI Satoshi and Sinichi ! I absolutely adore you both and love watching your adventures ! Thank you for sharing your life with us. Love from North Carolina USA ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Guys, Loved the train journey with the beautiful scenery. The Miso potato and pork rice bowel looked delicious, strawberries 🍓 were my favourite though. Thanks, would be my idea of a day trip although I have no experience with cold weather.Funky yellow seats, katsu, potato stick& strawberry sandwich would be for me&icicle display is stunning.Ibtried ordering the ramen as mum& myself should do low carb&low sodium but does not ship to Oz, shame as for now dry kijac will have to suffice, you guys seemed to enjoy it,stay well, cheers
Lovely place! Please return and introduce us to more places there, I will look forward to it If possible, please show us how to buy the tickets for the LaView express train and how much does it cost Thanks!
Though I should be used to seeing Tokyo's busy areas less crowded nowadays it still shocked me how quiet Ikebukuro is. I have never been to the Seibe side of the station; always the JR or tobu lines mainly. Do you need reservations for this train or can you just buy a ticket just before you want to go? I also never realized that in Saitama in winter you can see this. Saitama being so close to tokyo and tokyo being not that cold in winter. It looks breathtaking! Food looks amazing. But I would have liked the miso sauce came with something else then potato hahaha Wisky ice! I got to try that. I love highballs and used to drink wisky straight :D
Darn! When you said “plant-based, I was hoping Immi would be gluten free, but they’re not! My husband is celiac, and would give anything for an “instant noodle” dish that he could eat!
Thanks for sharing, may I know how many hours of train ride from Tokyo to chichibu? Can you cover within a day? Where would you recommend the next stop besides Chichibu?

Lovely place! Please return and introduce us to more places there, I will look forward to it
If possible, please show us how to buy the tickets for the LaView express train and how much does it cost

I like 👍 thar too can you go back to okinawa again..love your videi ..be safe
great video. mind putting the travel info (route, map) etc. in the description? too bad immi only ships to the US.
Like see more area and hot springs
This looked amazing. I am left with a question as I watch this. Is Japan wheelchair accessible?
Very vert rare!❤️❤️❤️
Darn! When you said “plant-based, I was hoping Immi would be gluten free, but they’re not! My husband is celiac, and would give anything for an “instant noodle” dish that he could eat!
Please show us more of Chichiboo(?) not sure of the spelling.

福砂屋か文明堂のカステラが美味しいと思う☺
I feel like almost every Japanese dessert needs to be had with a cup of coffee or tea
May I know is it only happens in February every year?
