Elvay I agree, he’s a top bloke who clearly predominantly competes against himself and has the incredible humility to help / offer advice to everyone 👍🏼
Take away for me was: a healthy human body doesn't seem to wear out joints even after extreme mechanical exertion, if you allow 2 weeks of recovery (assuming no drugs impeding body repair). Speculation: I was sent into army training even though I had certified orthopedic issues (thanks to my Dr screwing up the recommendation letter), lower back pain supposedly from 4 fused vertebrae that shouldn't be fused. In any case, they allowed me to reduce some of my load during long treks. What I just realized now, is that while initially long walks with full gear were sometimes very painful, by the time we did survival week, I was able to walk the 20 hours this trek took. My knees were shot going downhill hours and hours, but I don't recall ever having back problems again after the military training.
Your video has given me new inspiration. I lost a lot of weight running and cutting out sugar and other simple carbs, but my fat loss has stalled. I went from 282 to 180 lbs and now I hover between 185 and 195.
He needs to try and add in some Paleoketogenic diet principles. Eating raw organ meats from pasture raised animals, especially liver, heart, thymus and pancreas. Raw eggs and dairy would also help immensely. Raw bone marrow is amazing. Raw heart alone is extremely high in CoQ10, Magnesium, Taurine, D-Ribose. All of these are necessary for proper heart function. D-Ribose is used for ATP. D-Ribose also helps those who have had heart attacks or are in heart failure. Some traditionally made bone broth would be a great preventative measure for his cartilage and bones. Chicken broth made with backs, necks, and feet. It's extremely collagen rich.
Thank you Gentlemen! Question to Zach Bitter, I noticed that you mentioned that you add your fuel source to your fluid intake. What do you use? Thank you.
Joints ( The Human body ) are made to move. With correct running form, slow build up when you start running etc. your joint will be fine. Sitting still on a chair / couch all day will make you weak - not running :)
Very impressive! Couldn't imagine relying upon carbs for 12 hours of exercise. Great testimony to upside of using fat for fuel.
One of the many great things about Zach is that he is quite open about his diet and training regime. Good stuff here for a low carb endurance athlete!

Berg looks at him like he is in love hahahaha. Nice interview.
I’m throughly impressed! Wow!! 26.2 was amazing for me. Could not imagine 100 miles!

Dr. Berg, interview Zach again! Not much endurance and keto science beyond 3 months out there. Thank you for great interview.
Geeze, what a Rockstar! You have the best guest speakers.

Did you do IF?
Zach Bitter is absolutely amazing.
This particular video is really convincing enough to make me jump to keto.

That's Zach Bitter, ask him 1 question and keep on talking :-D Great surprise to see him on this channel!
Dr. Berg is totally into this conversation. I can tell ✊✊
I loved this interview! Thanks to both of you!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
That was a surprise I didn't see coming, awesome!
EXCELLENT information! Thanks a lot!
Thank you!
Absolutely incredible feat!
Thanks for watching!
Great interview
Thank you for watching!
This man ran 100miles (161km) in under 12hours??? I cant ride a motorcycle more than 150km per day!
hahaha

Why don't he races Tarahumara? That's interesting!
Can’t imagine what his joints will be like in later years but a huge a achievement nevertheless
full of titanium screws and NTN Japanese made ceramic ball bearings... an android!
If you're taking care of your body with the right nutrients he will be fine. I would love to follow him to see
Mark Bousquet yes to a degree but imagine all the accumulated high impact stress on the joints. No real diet can reverse that except major surgery

Janjua __ not true at all. Ketosis is pretty powerful.
I'm confused. How is more butter after the race going to help him if he's become to lean???
It’s fat, after a day of carb intake, having fat puts him back into Ketosis
What vegan can say about this guy, this is the real game changer, energy coming from our own body fat.
Ultra interesting 💟
Thank you so much for watching!
"at mile 80 your body is getting a little tired" lol
You should try to interview Dr Shawn Baker. Hes doing some amazing things at 51 yrs old on a carnivore diet.
Might as well have the cleanest fuel for the longest distance.
