Well, I wasn't going to watch any videos tonight but then saw yours.... That was quickly changed. I really love this idea. I've used colored pencils with paintings before. This is beautiful!!
Thank you for showing this, it's beautiful and we'd love to try it. Can you tell me where you got the thin curved syringe tube on the tip of the bottle of alcohol?
Thanks for this demonstration, Myriam! I've been working with coloured pencils a bit more lately and this is another great way to utilise them. I love the pink, orange and yellow combination for flowers. I use it a lot. Hugs to you, Myriam! 😚
This is absolutely gorgeous! I love your laugh and calming voice. I immediately ordered some black Grafix plastic and the white ink. Such a clever technique. Thanks for sharing it!
Oh Myriam...this is so beautiful! I’ve always loved working with colored pencils... but this just took them to a whole new level! Thank you for doing all the testing and then sharing how best to get the most beautiful results! You’re and amazing teacher! I’m waiting on my order for the black craft plastic and the new Marabu color alcohol inks...sure glad I ordered extra white!
Hi Lynne! You can always find links for whatever I’ve used in a video in the description box of that video. 😊 But here are all the links you could need for Marabu Inks : ▪️Marabu White Alcohol Ink - 20 ml bottle : bit.ly/MarabuWhite 🔹⭐️ The SET of all 14 NEW Marabu alcohol ink colors (includes the white) : bit.ly/Marabu14 🔹The ORIGINAL set of 28 inks : bit.ly/MarabuInk-All28 🔹ALL the colors individually (NEW colors at the TOP of the list) : bit.ly/MarabuInksNew I hope that helps a bit. 😊💕
Wow! That's so gorgeous!! I actually even love the white tulips as is, before adding the colour. Thanks for sharing your fabulous techniques with us Myriam. ❤️💖❤️💖
What do you know? I just received my Maribu inks (from and earlier video) and I threw in some black craft plastic. I can't wait to dive in. Thanks Mayriam! Your laugh is infectious and I love your videos.
Simply elegant! I'm wondering if a resin (maybe a UV protective one) to cover wouldn't magnify that beauty. I just received my new (second and newest) set of maribou inks, and can't wait to play with them.
I have just discovered alcohol inks and they look very appealing. The catch is I'm a ceramic artist. I'm hearing that alcohol inks would work on my surfaces after a glaze firing. The question is how do I protect my finished product and how strong is the finished surface?
Dear Myriam, I love to listen to your little storie's and your giggle😄( is that an English word?). Lot's of Love from the North of the Netherlands 🇳🇱👐.
That is so pretty! I just learned about this black craft plastic last night, so when I saw your video I absolutely had to watch to see what you created on it. I'm right there with your girlfriend about getting messy. I've primarily been a Stamper and taught classes and for years I've told my students if you don't have ink on your finger and glitter on your nose you did not have near enough fun stamping! 🤣 okay what color would I do it if I were making flowers? You already know the answer to that it's purple! If I was color and zebras it would probably still be purple. 😁 but your flowers are truly lovely! Even if there's no purple. 😙
Hi Myriam, Your flowers are gorgeous. You are an amazing artist and I enjoy watching you and how you explain how things work. I am wondering, how long did this technique take you? Thank you for sharing your amazing talent.
Hi Tina! As always, thank you for your very kind and uplifting words. About your question, if you mean how long did this piece take me to make I would say half an hour (not counting the time I waited for it to dry completely before adding color). If, on the other hand, you mean how long did it take me to work out this technique I would say a few days. I knew I wanted a more light and airy look and didn’t want to have to use an airbrush in order to get it. I think airbrush flowers are very pretty but they tend to look very similar to me so I wanted a way to paint ANYTHING with that translucent look. When the black plastic came out I really wanted to be able to do it on black. Ordinarily, in order to paint on black you mix alcohol ink with white and then paint with it, or paint with white ink and add ink colors on top. That can look pretty too but wasn’t what I was after. I also wanted more control in where the colors ended up and how they combined. I’ve been a colored pencil person for years so I gave them a try on various inks at various thicknesses. Trial and error (and a lot of white ink 😅) led me to these steps. I’m still experimenting and finding new possibilities. Stay tuned 😁😉😘💕.
Omg, this is so pretty. Wish I had watched your video before I ordered my Marabu inks. Didn't think I needed white cause I have other whites. Oh shoot! Great use of the black plastic. I'll be watching to see what other ideas you come up with. Thanks Myriam.
I’ve made some pretty small flowers with this technique Dae (the size of a dime or nickel) and it worked fine. I think it will depend on how many details you want to have show in the “X-ray” and the size of your paintbrush. I hope that makes sense 😊💕.
I was ready to throw away my alcohol inks before I came across your channel. Your instruction is eye opening and enjoyable. Thank you! Beautiful work and wonderful instruction.
So far I only have a red and a black Marabu alcohol ink. I have the rest of the new colors on order. I opened the top the way you told us about. Opens easily. I stuck a pin in the top. The red one leaks into the cap unless I keep it up right. Are they all going to do this. I ordered for my daughter for her birthday and I hope she will not have a mess. I told her not to open her gift until I talk to her. I am afraid she might cut the top. I did not receive any info with mine. It is on label but doesn’t warn against cutting top. It is so liquid I don’t see why anyone would but you never know. I appreciated your last video on Marabu ink. I had already ordered from Scrapbooking Made Simple before I saw your video. It will be 60 to 90 days before I will get them. Wish I had known about Joggles. I ordered from them for my daughters birthday and she received them yesterday. Thank you.
I've never worked with alcohol inks but do have the Prismacolor pencils. Have you ever made your own alcohol ink using acrylic paints? I've heard that can be done. I love how the alcohol inks look in anything, especially resin. I will give them a try sometime.
Love this, Myriam! I haven't worked with alcohol inks for a while and I really miss you and watching your videos! If anyone is going to bring me back, it would be you!
I really like your videos Miriam. They are so educating. I’m going to try this technique but the problem seems to be getting the white Marabu in Sweden. I have also tried amazon.UK and I couldn’t find it there either. Does enyone know where to get white Marabu in England or Sweden.
They look like frosted glass, so fragile and soft looking. I liked them white but it’s amazing to see what the pencil does. I’m not a fan of those pencils for other projects because of their waxy content in the lead. But in this wow!!
Hi Kathy! Yes… The Kielty layering solution is be a great option for adding color without disturbing your original white painting. I’m actually working on a video about that exact topic so stay tuned 😊😘💕 !
I love these tulips! I've always loved colored pencils and I don't know why I haven't thought of using them with alcohol inks. I've used them with alcohol markers...duh! Take care of yourself!
Hi Scherre! Thank you very much for your kind words. The hummingbird drawing can be for sale if you’d like. Feel free to email me at yt.myriam@gmail.com and we discuss it.😊💕
Even before you added colors, the white tulips shapes on this black grafix background give a lovely effect for those who like black and white paintings... Obviously, the addition of colors is an added bonus and it’s amazing that colored pencils make such a difference. Beautiful!
That was fun, you’re right about getting our hands dirty, it’s like a trophy. A few nights ago I was so happy to see so many colors of alcohol ink, I sat there admiring my hands, alcohol ink is beautiful!
Hi Paula, as I said in the video I haven’t tried Faber Castell Polychromos, Caran d’Ache Luminance or other artist grade pencils .... all I can suggest is giving them a try if you have them. 😊
Turned out beautiful, I think it would be fantastic in a frame under glass 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
You have a gift for teaching. I love your style and your artwork is beautiful. Loved this video.
Awesome! I got my new Maribu colors today...I going to do a portrait with this technique...will share!
Well, I wasn't going to watch any videos tonight but then saw yours.... That was quickly changed.
I really love this idea. I've used colored pencils with paintings before. This is beautiful!!
Beautiful Myriam, I can't wait to try this. I love your Tulips.
Thank you for showing this, it's beautiful and we'd love to try it. Can you tell me where you got the thin curved syringe tube on the tip of the bottle of alcohol?
Ill try this as soon as I can get hold of alcohol over 50%..love your ideas
You are one of a kind, Miss Myriam. And, you've given me the inspiration I was looking for! More to follow, I hope!
Love when you post! What a gorgeous technique! Thanks for sharing!
Oh my gosh, thank you Linda! I hope you’ll have fun with it. 😊😘💕
Thanks for this demonstration, Myriam! I've been working with coloured pencils a bit more lately and this is another great way to utilise them. I love the pink, orange and yellow combination for flowers. I use it a lot. Hugs to you, Myriam! 😚
As usual great technique, enjoyed watching and hearing your voice 🌟
This is absolutely gorgeous! I love your laugh and calming voice. I immediately ordered some black Grafix plastic and the white ink. Such a clever technique. Thanks for sharing it!
Thank you, thank you Annie! I wish you endless fun with this 😘💕!

That’s wonderful to hear... thank you so much for that! 😊💕
That was wonderful! I love your work, the tulips looked perfect. I so appreciate what you teach us all every time.
I had no idea you started with white before the pencils. Is there a link for the maribu inks?
Hi Lynne! You can always find links for whatever I’ve used in a video in the description box of that video. 😊 But here are all the links you could need for Marabu Inks :

So pretty and I love the technique thank you so much. I’ve only started painting again🙏🏼😊
Thank you Coco! It was my pleasure. Happy painting!! 😊💕
Thanks Myriam!
Beautiful! I'm new to your channel and really spending too many HOURS watching them! Thanks for ALL the inspiration.
This is just a lovely piece of work! I love the technique as well.
Are you having difficulty finding 91% and 99% alcohol right now with COVID-19?
Looove it! Thank you my dear for making this art medium a little less scary for us newbies! Glad I found your channel!❤️
What do you know? I just received my Maribu inks (from and earlier video) and I threw in some black craft plastic. I can't wait to dive in. Thanks Mayriam! Your laugh is infectious and I love your videos.

I was thinking at least a few days, just trying the right white. I know that you like experimenting 💜💗💖💕💓👍

Beautiful tulips!. I love it. The colors you chose was just right. Could you do another video like this with a different drawing. Thanks. Joyce
I want to do this but in small I wonder if I could do it 1/6th scale?

Beautiful project... another technique for my future ideas to play with list! TFS and have a great day! 🙂
You’ve done it again Myriam... the technique and tulips 🌷🌷 are amazing! 🥰
Started watching your channel again . So fun and so full of knowledge. Especially for beginner resin artists like myself.

How pretty is this?!!! I just loved every bit of it! Love the color on the black, it’s very dramatic and classy looking.

Thank you for sharing this amazing video. For once I have all the supplies! You're the best. 💜
Love this, Myriam! I haven't worked with alcohol inks for a while and I really miss you and watching your videos! If anyone is going to bring me back, it would be you!
Awww, that’s a very sweet thing to say Vonalda... thank you! Welcome back and happy inking if you decide to start playing with the inks again. 😊💕
I really like your videos Miriam. They are so educating.

Beautiful! I have everything I need except for the black Grafix.
Oooh! Can't wait to try it. I liked my inks on the black tiles, but wanted something more practical. Thanks for sharing!
So beautiful...both the art and the closing benediction. May you be happy and well also.

If I used the layering fluid from Kiltie, could I use alcohol ink to color, as I don't have and color pencils?
Hi Kathy! Yes… The Kielty layering solution is be a great option for adding color without disturbing your original white painting. I’m actually working on a video about that exact topic so stay tuned 😊😘💕 !

What about a polychrome pencil?
Hi Paula, as I said in the video I haven’t tried Faber Castell Polychromos, Caran d’Ache Luminance or other artist grade pencils .... all I can suggest is giving them a try if you have them. 😊
Lovely.
😍😍😍
