Kendall, Cody was my nephew, I am the mother of his cousin Derek, part of the San Jose CA family. I hope this message finds you because it is sent with my sincerest gratitude. I want you and all of your subscribers to know that everything you presented is true and correct and as difficult as it was, I watched the entire post because you have a way about you as you speak, such care and authenticity, thank you for honoring Cory's memory. I will say that when I received the call late Monday morning after his "disappearance", my immediate comment to family was that she (Jordan) was behind it, it was completely and totally premeditated and I can assure you that Cody did not have a mean, violent bone in his body and 30 years was indeed very disappointing, I will not comment here as to what I wished for her fate. I thank you for so eloquently honoring his memory.
I’m so very sorry for your loss. Cody seems like such a kind soul, someone that would give anyone he cared about the world. I hate that he was taken from you like this. Thank you for letting his story be shared 💗
The lyrics "safe place to fall" "climb higher" and "never let me go" from their wedding song really hit different when you learn she pushed him off a cliff
"I wish someone would have stood up and asked me what I wanted" ma'am you are in control of your life and your decisions, don't put that on anyone but yourself ✋
Right?! At that part, I literally said "SOMEONE DID ASK YOU. HE ASKED YOU IF YOU WANTED TO MARRY HIM AND YOU SAID YES." Like, how many times do you need to be asked before it's enough?
Just remember: it's much easier to have one difficult conversation with someone and break up with them than it is to be investigated, have to go through trial, then get sentenced to prison for 30 years. That's a lot to avoid one conversation.
I'm sorry but I have to laugh at her thinking an email saying "stop the search, Cody is for sure gone" would cause the police to say "alright let's pack it up boys, case closed"
Off topic but my little sister once “ran away” (she snuck out to go hang out with friends) but she left a note saying she was just really stressed and just wanted to go on a walk. She also said “I am not running away” and that email just gave off the same energy
So many people do skip over this fact, to her it was easier to kill him than to have an uncomfortable conversation. Why did you say yes to marrying him? why did you marry him? The killer question would have been for her, How cruel are you to break this man heart when all he did was love you?
I love how when Kendall is describing the victim it seems like she actually knew the person. Like it’s always said so thoughtfully. I’m sure the families really appreciate you going above and beyond to find out those little details about the victim. Love you Kendall!
The fact that she would've rather killed her husband than just get a divorce is both really twisted and really sad. People can forgive you for getting a divorce. They don't always forgive you for literally murdering someone.
Hell, at that point they probably could've gotten an annulment since they didn't consummate the marriage. And an annulment is okay in certain circumstances according to Christianity. Murder is like...never okay. Idk. I'm not a Christian now. Maybe I missed something in my sporadic time in Sunday school.
In some religious groups, divorce is an unpardonable offense. Maybe she feared that more than fearing the law may find out. Whatever the reason, she is clearly a sociopath or a psychopath and should never be let out of prison.
@@ajfoxw That's true! I'm not an expert on religion or religious groups so I'm not sure what the stipulations are for things like that, but that's a good point.
Yeah literally no one would find him if she didn't lead them to that place. Like everyone said that area down at the bottom of the cliffside from that hiking path has never even been explored before. Imagine not only killing your spouse but be so damned irritated at the search by his loved ones that you have to hurry up the process by revealing a location where no one has been before and still imagine that you are going to get away with it. If she didn't do that i don't think anyone would have found his body.
The scary thing is if she was just a little smarter and hadn't written that email or led them to the body she would have most likely gotten away with it.
Right ? This would have been the perfect how to get away with murder scenario. No one would have found the body if she hadn’t led them to him. Actually scratch that if she hadn’t written that phony email no one would have even bothered to look in the park. She’s like the worlds dumbest criminal , almost seemed like she wanted to get cause
@@foreverlibra93 literally. but why would she make it seem like an accident and then only put like 35% energy into it when she could have gotten away with the murder? like isn't that what people normally want? its just so passive agressive 💀
People who regularly create through artistry (like song writing) tend to have a sixth sense about these things. That will probably forever be her most hated song she’s ever written.
I'm sure we're all thinking the same thing.. she never told him that she wasn't happy. They never had a huge fight. Why would they drive an hour away to climb a cliff in the middle of a "huge fight"? Especially if he's afraid of heights?! No.. I think she lured him there, they were having a perfectly good night, and she pushed him.
Agreed! I just think it’s very odd to randomly go to a national park AT NIGHT, especially after having dinner with friends so it doesn’t make sense that they were fighting, there had to been an incentive to go when they did so I definitely see her luring him.
Yep! Probably said god led them there, or she said she’ll have sex with him and wants it there to be special or something, she lured him to his death and the poor man was just happy to be married. If friends said he was that afraid of heights, he wouldnt be going up there unless he trusted who he was with.
The insane thing is that if she just hadn't written that email and taken them to Cody's body, he likely wouldn't have been found, and he would have just remained a missing person. She probably would have gotten away with murder.
That's the most messed up thing I think in any case when it comes to these couples. If you're not happy, just leave someone. Literally whatever process that entails is going to be easier than actual murder
@@mayholland9474 it's still easier than murder. That's why I said "whatever process that entails" whether it be working on yourself, setting up your own independence and support system, finding the financial means etc. It NOT easy to leave people but literally still easier than killing someone
@@mayholland9474 it is twisted because if you can't communicate enough to tell someone you don't want to be with them when it is getting so extreme that you're considering murder than you're not in the position to be with someone in the first place& other people, especially your partner, aren't responsible or liable for your own baggage. Especially to the point of it costing them their lives.
So many people make this claim. Like they'll murder someone and say they didnt want a divorce, bc itd look bad. Never do I hear them say well all sins are weighed the same, they allll say they didnt want anyone to think bad of them for having a divorce, or lose things in the divorce..so then they murder.. and everyone is still judging (but way more Intensely now) and all their dirty laundry is STILL aired out.. but on a NATIONAL scale. Smh. Peoples "logic" is WIIILD.
Because if they go through a divorce, they have to go through the 'shame' of not being a good 'christian' and being judged by all the other good 'christians' etc... so much so that they're literally willing to murder to avoid going through the embarrassment. Absolutely nuts
‘You can call off the missing persons report, he’s for sure gone 😔’ .. did she really think they would read that than just call off the search and never look for him again and move on???
"I have like 4 rabbits and none of them.. murder" Had me dying - thanks for that. This woman is cold and callous. I am angry that she made this choice instead of just not going through with the marriage. RIP Cody.
If I was ever accidentally the cause of anyone’s death, even a total stranger, I would be a complete and utter wreck. The fact that she was so unfazed and without emotion with everything involving the death of this person she had been in a relationship with tells me all I need to know.
I realize that, as I'm not a Dr, I have no qualifications to diagnose any sort of mental illness. Having been closely exposed to it within my family, however, I feel like I can speculate. All of Jordan's behavior after the fact, and probably due to situational circumstances in her life, seem to point to a severe personality disorder. Her ability to habitually lie and only see herself as a victim lends itself to some sort of narcissism or borderline personality maybe? Cluster b's are developed rather than inherited, and some of her life experiences seem like they could definitely have influenced her unhealthy demeanor. I'm curious what her psych evaluation said about her. Obviously shes mentally sane, but she's got some scariness going on within her.
@@cb3514 I agree that she may be Borderline. I know someone with BPD and they always play the victim. They can be so cold-hearted and appear to be numb a lot of the time.
They probably wouldn’t have even had to get a divorce. The marriage was so fresh, they probably could’ve just gotten it annulled. Instead, she took his life.
@Ren Strange You are absolutely correct. An annulment would have the marriage contract null and void basically as though it had never existed. Originally they only allowed annulments IF the marriage wasn't consummated .... but we hear more and more that even if consummated, a marriage can be annulled, probably if it has been less than 6 months, though I am not sure on that time frame. It could even be a year for all I know about the time frame aspect of today's changes within law that have taken place. Heck one simply has to claim irreconcilable differences to obtain a divorce whereas originally one had to have a major and decent reason for a divorce. "Not getting along? You better figure out a way to do so you're stuck together now, unless you have a better reason to justify a divorce." .
The crazy thing is, she committed the perfect murder... he never would have been found based on how hard it was to even confirm his body was there. It was her bizarre behavior that caught her. I think, aside from being cold and a killer, that she is insanely immature to think she can just make her problems go away by sending an email saying Cody was dead and then pretending to find him. What a tragedy for Cody and his family. She never should have been in a relationship with anyone much less been allowed to get married.
I mean, she could've even said that they went stargazing, and it was a freak accident. Either way, I'm glad she told on herself with her bizarre behavior.
That's not likely to be true. She just implicated herself faster. The cell phones still would have put them in Glacier National Park, the camera still would have caught them, and the email still would have been tied to her.
So she married a guy cause she wanted a wedding but killed him so she didn't have to sleep with him? That's one of the most psychotic things I've heard in a while
@@charlottemuller2233 she wasn’t afraid to murder him (which is definitely not normal) but she was so scared of having sex with the man she’d married! Makes no dam sense
@@JNYC212 RIGHT!! Crazy of him to think that because you said yes AND went through with the entire engagement that you ACTUALLY wanted to marry him! gheesh what WAS he thinking.
I’m terrified of sex too but I would never MURDER someone over it?? Murder is NEVER the solution!! She just wanted to run away from her problem instead of trying to solve it. She’s a terrible person.
Being as she said she pit her hand on his shoulder and one on his back and he landed head first means she definitely pushed him on purpose. No way was he fa ing her and grabbing her that just isnt possible!
He was scared of heights and as someone who is also that way, there's no way I would be anywhere near that cliff. She made sure he was close enough to made sure he would fall to his death.
i've heard about a young wife doing this to a good guy before, a woman pushed her husband off a building he was working on or something, i can't remember specifics but she was all suicidal about it, i wonder how common it is, cliff/mountain "falls" are basically the perfect crime
She 100% pushed him on purpose. It's disturbing to me that she'd rather murder him than get a divorce. Absolutely insane. I wish nothing but peace for Cody's family and friends. He seemed like a wonderful guy.
She said, ``I let go and I pushed.'' Right after she said he had a hold of her and her jacket. I bet he started to fall and grabbed to hang on, and she pushed him. She a straight-up sociopath. Cannot be trusted to be around living people. Had she ever tortured a small animal? She has the creepy, gravelly serial-killer voice.
Jordan: "If I tell him how I'm feeling, it's going to break his heart." Also Jordan: "Welp, guess that means I have to break his skull. And arms. And legs. And torso. And his everything else"
I watch so much true crime and have never been so infuriated by a murderer. She took away someone’s son, someone’s brother, so many people’s friend because she wanted a wedding without considering that it would be followed my a MARRIAGE. She was so stupid, like she really thought she was going to outsmart the police with an email from “car guy”, taking them to the exact destination she pushed him, and not even pretending to care. How do people like this exist.
@@Ober1kenobi nobody is happy about him being murdered homie. In fact its really terrible. I feel for his family as my friends mother was murdered when we were in elementary school. People use humor or light heartedness sometimes and nobody here is happy about anything said here. Its okay to not be offended about everything. Im sorry you were offended however it wasnt her intention or mine to do that. Its the fact that anything else before murder would have been acceptable to not be married. Its silly to think murder was the answer. Thats the point sir. Again I'm sorry you felt upset just know that wasnt what was meant to happen in this comment
“I wish someone would’ve stood up and asked me what I wanted.” This girl seriously has no accountability. She could’ve just called off the wedding, but instead she created a narrative where she was forced into a marriage and had no choice but to kill her husband.
What a coward and victim. Pisses me off. People aren't mind readers. If you want something, say it. Don't have to kill someone over not getting what you want. Ugh.
Exactly! She is acting like it was some sort of arranged marriage. The poor guy even converted to her religion to be with her. Every step of the way she had a choice to end it but didn’t because she is selfish.
From what you have said about Cody it sounds like if she had just been honest and sat down with him and explained her fears about sex he would have been really patient with her . He sounds like the man we all hope to find and she had him and she killed him . Rip Cody you deserved so much better
The weirdest thing about all of this is that Jose’s wife didn’t murder him for calling a friend about a tool while she was in the hospital having a baby.
Hearing how far down he was and how difficult it was to recover his body, if she hadn't led them straight to him, they most likely would never have found him. She is obviously very emotionally immature. Almost everything she did seemed like something a child would do or at least had a childlike logic to it.
@@Dan-or8ld I don't think I ever said it was an excuse. I was making an observation about her behavior. I did not say it made her any less responsible for what she did.
I love how you create the victims for us in ways we can feel them as individuals who deserved to live. I just joined your channel… I’ve been watching for a while… THANK YOU!!!
also how come his hands are on her shoulders, while her's are on his waist.. usually it's the other way around. not a big deal, but odd. the body language is definitely off tho.
Yes! I was wondering if anyone else picked up on that. And wtf was the little pat on his back after the first dance? I'm not an expert on body language but that rubbed me the wrong way
Maybe he wanted to respect her as she was probably a conservative Christian woman and so he felt the best way to hold her while he danced with her was to put his arms on her shoulders instead of her waist
Right?? “Omg how could y’all just..let me get married like that??” Girl you’re an adult woman who made that decision don’t be placing that on others 😂 like what
I think 🤔 there’s lots of more going on there. She obviously was sexual abuse before and who know by who. It could be interesting to find out who did this to her that let her be so traumatized in order for her to kill, just not to have sex. Family members, church?
its so disturbing how her brother was more upset about her husband being dead than her that alone is proof to me she had planned to kill him and it was not an accident
You would make a bad detective/investigator. First of all, somebody's reaction to an event is not evidence nor is it a forensic fact. 2nd of all, it is not proof. Take a class and study what proof actually is. You are exactly why we shouldn't have a jury.
@@rachaelb. did i ask for ur input at all rachel? are we in the court of law right now or youtube? the answer is no in case u are too dense to get it so why don’t u do something fulfilling with your life instead of being up in arms over me and 600 other people having the common sense to realize something is off about a wive not reacting at all to husband murder
I think reason her brother so upset was because in that moment he knew she killed him and it wasn't an accident ...I feel like the upset was in relation to his sister's horrifying behavior rather than the death
Cody was the kind of guy many many women are hoping to find as a marriage partner. Weird that it didn’t occur to Jordan that he would find someone else, even if she did break his heart.
He really seemed like such a great guy 😔 With so much stigma around men having to show no emotion, it's really great to see a guy get genuinely excited and emotional over getting married, and expressing that, and being a true friend to people. Idk, I hope his soul is resting in peace 💕
Typically people who are pathologically agreeable with low self esteem may pursue an unavailable partner. Sadly we mostly see this personality profile in women, which is why we see so many more women chasing or staying with unavailable men. But we rarely see the reverse. However it exists.
I mean he was physically and verbally abusive very quickly into the marriage. She is 1000x worse but that doesn't justify him holding her down and screaming at her before she was ever violent. If your wife tells you she's not interested in sex after y'all are married that's fucked up but there are better ways to handle that.
@@soakupthenoise i don't know if I believe that he did any of those things. I'm not saying it's impossible... just unlikely going off his personality profile. She seems to have real social issues and fears confrontation to the point of committing murder before annulling a marriage. I doubt she outright showed disinterest and probably made a lot of excuses.
I am from Kalispell Montana. Cody was one of my brother's friend and the last time they saw each other was Saturday night before he was murdered. My brother has his own band and Cody went to listen to it. Next night, he went missing. It's sad to know what his wife did to him and to lie about everything. Even sending a fake text from her parents computer. They got married in the same park and place my husband and I were married. Now my brother and his fiancee are getting married in the same place. Cody was a sweet, loyal friend, son, oh, just an all around great guy. His death hit soo many people hard especially my brother. To find out his wife actually pushed him to his death, knowing he was scared of heights too. She tricked him and put a blind fold on him then pushed him. I really hoped she would have received life instead of 40 years. They moved the trial just over 2 hours away, so was not able to attend the trial. She is not serving time in Montana as the women's prison here is not a maximum security one. I may sound cold hearted, but I hope she never gets out ever. Montana is known to let ppl off the hook so to speak on alot of crimes. But she got what she deserved. Ty for doing this video. My brother to this day is still devastated by his death/ murder.
I spend a lot of time in Kalispell and the Flathead Valley but I'm from the town where the trial happened. It was definitely a crazy time I was only 15 when this happened, so I didn't really understand the severity of it. I'm glad I watched this video for more details
I was traveling and have to train through whitefish Montana the Year this happened I remember seeing all over town the missing person flyers about Cody before this became a national case...so crazy
So sad, sorry for the community and Cody s friends and family. This woman is sick and should be locked away for life. I had never heard this story til today just heart breaking. Sorry for your brothers loss so sad hopefully some peace comes out of all this.
This was a horrific way to die. Being blindfolded, and pushed off a steep cliff by someone you love. I think people fail to place themselves in his place and how horrific that must’ve been for him. Otherwise they would’ve her a harsher sentence.
I heard about this case in the Park Predators podcast and they mentioned how creepy it was that that was their wedding song! I thought for sure Kendall would bring that up again. So chilling 😳
She had been with him for two years before their marriage, said YES to his proposal, and then had the audacity to say “no one asked her what she wanted!”
I wonder if she meant, like, in life? If she was raised really strictly Christian, she might not have thought she had an option to say no to a husband. If she didn't want to have sex with him, she might not even be straight, but depending on how strict her family is she might not have felt like she had a choice. Murder is not the solution there, but we can't forget how suffocating these Christian families can be sometimes
@@GypsyxDarlingno this was not the case. Even very religious families do not require you Marry someone after dating. She chose this and is using religion as a scapegoat. Trust me - a strong Christian family is NOT going to condone murder over divorce or saying no to a wedding. It makes no sense that she is trying to use this as an excuse.
I listen to her and other female crime narrators at bedtime, it's the perfect natural sleeping pill. I always have to find where I left off to finish listening to the end.
This is insane! Who the hell would go through with a marriage that is clearly terrified of it? She basically killed him because she didn’t want to sleep with him. This case is wild! RIP Cody
I never knew you were dyslexic. I have to say it’s really impressive, you write all these scripts and do all the research while having dyslexia is amazing
I didn’t know either. It is very impressive! My 8 year old son is dyslexic and is very smart. He is amazing at remembering information, small details, and recalling it and retelling a story. He can hear a whole story or watch a UA-cam video and retell it in great detail. It’s pretty cool!
Cody was so eager to find a partner that he ignored so many red flags that this girl was sending out. He also jumped into a relationship and a marriage without really knowing her.
It always intrigues me when guys fall head over heels for someone who is either openly a jerk to them, toxic, or just doesn't reciprocate their feelings. So many guys are arrogant jerks, and then you have this guy who was ready to move mountains for someone who didn't like him a ton. I do not get what he was seeing in her... was he just taken by her beauty? And was projecting his own feelings?
@@mashakalinkina7207 I think he thought that she was just shy, introverted and low key with her displaying her feelings. He probably knew that he was extremely high in extroversion and just didn't bother comparing the way he was displaying his feelings to the way she was. You know like opposites attract kind of thing. Just my theory
RIP Cody. He was such a sweet person.I was lucky enough to watch him grow from a sweet kid to a good man. He and his mom were so so close and Sherrys life revolved around him. How dare that evil witch take him from his loved ones.
There’s not much I can say but I’m sorry anyone close to this had to go through this. This “child” is a wicked dangerous person who deserves to rot in jail for the rest of her life. She was lucky to have found someone who loved her and if she didn’t love him she should have broken it off. Rip Cody
The fact they made it up to the park within a hour of leaving DQ means they never even stopped at home to "argue" before they were caught on camera pulling in. Complete setup by her. Whay a monster. He deserved so much better then her💔💔💔
What?!? Their special written wedding song words were this: "You helped me to climb higher for a better view. You are my safe place to fall. Everyone wants a safe place to fall." And then she pulls him off the cliff???? What was that? 😳🤔🧐
To be honest she was just straight dumb. She clearly could have gotten away with it, Cody would never be found in that place but...somehow she told everyone where he was dead? A place where almost no one goes? I'm glad she was dumb enough to set herself up like that. May Cody rest in peace. It's so sad when a young life gets lost like this.
I was thinking the same thing. No one would have even found him down there ESPECIALLY once he decomposed. It wouldve made getting evidence a lot harder. Why do murderers kill when theyre too stupid to get away with it? Lmao
She probably thought god would protect her from the consequences, I have a religious fanatic aunt who murdered her husband’s mistress and believed God would protect her. People are crazy
@@xoxoRachelZegerSuperfan i believe it could be it, but I also think she didnt think about her acctions or whar to act, she freaked out and somehow she thought that if they found the body there she could play the self defense card. Bad move, honestly.
She is definitely incredibly dumb. If she told the police that they had a fight and he left without telling her anything it would have been believable. Or just say he left without her knowing it would have been fine too. The police wouldn't know where to search
I believe that it depends on how good work would police do. They eventually checked where their phones logged in and it was this park, then the picture of their car and them together in this car... finding body would be hard, but Idn, police has dogs and his friends/family were really determined to help and search. In the other hand, if she wasn't dumb she wouldn't marry someone she doesn't love/get divorce/work with specialist on her sex issues, anything not to take life of human being who loved her and trusted her. Just sick...
You don't want to have sex, it's fine, don't want to get married don't even show up, but killing a person because you don't want to have sex or be afraid of it, that's crazy!!!
Tbh. But honestly some people don’t think that way I was in a relationship that I didn’t wanna be in for almost 2 years and didn’t end up saying anything until I finally broke up with him. I get what she’s saying when she doesn’t want to hurt his feelings but to kill someone is crazy ! And I think she’s got mental issues or something because this is so random for her and there no motive it’s all for nothing like how sad :( praying for his family
Bruh, my point exactly, if you like the idea of marriage, be a wedding planner and get your money.....if you don't like sex......then avoid all circumstances of being intimate with someone....... DON'T KILL THEM!!! His parents will never have grandchildren from his, his friends kids will never meet uncle Cody....... Whoever he helped or touched with love, they will never feel his love ever again........ 😔
Shit even if she thought she might be hable to once married why not just be honest with him and annulled the marriage I’m guessing she might have been molested as a child or something unfortunately. But all she had to do was be honest and let him go or maybe he would have been willing to work with her issues
why do i have a gut feeling that she didn’t even ever tell him how she felt & just thought getting rid of him would be easier than confronting him about it. i think they went there together and on impulse she pushed him off cause she couldn’t deal with it anymore. imo she deserved life in prison with no possibility of parol
I worked on this case as a volunteer at KPD during this time. Because it happened in Glacier National Park, the FBI took the lead on the case and I worked with those agents and prepared the trial notebooks. Everything that Kendall discussed is true, and I remember these events unfolding as they happened, from the initial missing person's report and her denial of knowing where he was to the discovery of his body to the trial.
@@ohjordyn8312 Chris Watts had a similar strategy. He thought he could get away with it just by telling police his wife took the kids and left like they wouldn’t search for her. Just another moron.
The fact she dropped a video on her bday??? How much more iconic can you be Kendall. I hope you had a great birthday!!🖤🖤🖤 We appreciate and enjoy your content so much!
50 is still young. She might not even be menopausal when she is released. She can still find love. She can still build a life with someone or for herself. She will be able to travel. Taste any food she wants. Swim in the ocean. Stargaze. Have pets. Grow a garden. Things she doesn’t deserve.
I don't believe she ever told Cody how she really felt nor that they were arguing. He really loved her, but she lured him to his death promising a "special surprise", so he let her blindfold him, not suspecting a thing.
true! if they would have been fighting i bet he wouldn't have let her blindfold him ON A CLIFF. i think it was totally premeditated. how stupid you have to be to think the only way out of marriage is murdering your partner??? smh
That part gave me shivers. You should not feel comfortable to lie like that. She was not a true Christian. She was a cultural Christian. Big difference. And very upsetting. You cannot trust the image people put out, we have no idea what’s truly in someone’s heart to do.
the holy spirit is now a divining rod that just points straight to nearby corpses. you should see the things around cemeteries; they perk up and start quivering like twitchy teacup dogs
Kendall, I just wanted to say, that there something special about the way to talk, how you tell the story, how you carry yourself and how respectful you are about describing victims. It really calms me down and makes my anxiety go away. Thanks for your videos!
@スケルスケル? Is that what you do? Come to nice comments from people, try to offend them and tell them what happens to their mental health? I think it's obvious who's a muppet here :D
It sounds like Jordan held a lot of resentment toward Cody for the marriage and the prospect of sex. It’s too bad that the only solution she saw was murder! Just get a divorce! It may suck for a couple of months but everyone will get over it. This all could have been easily avoided
Honestly they could have gotten an annulment because they didn't consummate the marriage. It would have been like they never gotten married at all, legally.
Couldn’t agree more. It baffles me when certain “religious” people turn to murder rather than divorce 🤨🤨 like your not NOT going to heaven because you got a divorce.
I am SO shook right now because I just finished listening to this before doing my homework for Modern Theatre History, and the play I’m reading is exactly what happened in this case. It’s called Machinal by Sophie Treadwell and it was written in 1928. It’s about a woman who marrys her husband for convenience and ultimately murders him. It mentioned multiple times how she felt disgusted by his sexual advances. The inspiration comes from a famous murder case between Judd Gray and Ruth Snyder, and Albert Snyder in 1927. This quote from the play shook me to the core after just having listened to this video “Judge: If you just wanted to be free - why didn’t you divorce him?” “Helen: Oh I couldn’t do that!! I couldn’t hurt him like that!” Coincidences like this happen to me often, but this seemed too real. Wth?!
You have to be such a huge narcissist to think that pushing someone off a cliff to their death is better than heart break. You can’t make that decision for someone else. How horrible :( God bless his family.
Fun fact: she was my Sunday school teacher and I spent an entire week house sitting with her at one point. My sister met with her before his body was discovered to give her support because her husband “was missing.”
Do you think there is a chance she was sexually abused at home but her step-father? She apparently spoke of killing her mother and step-father, and she was petrified of sex.
@@Trenchant468 I spent a decent amount of time at their house, but I didn’t pick up on the stepdad being abusive in any way (I was pretty young though), but the mom was very strange. I didn’t like her at all. She always gave me a really weird feeling.
@@shalomgee8032 Thanks for replying. She does seem to be missing a chip-maybe upbringing, or maybe just neurological or genetic. But also, everyone seems to overlook that she was afraid of her own husband.
If it was real self-defense, I would expect jordyn to say something like “I really didn’t mean to I was just so scared and I’m so sorry, I wish this never happened” and to cry. But no. She is so emotionless it’s scary
Thank you Kendall for your genuine and sincere personality and the knowledge and research you do when covering cases. You had me at the first video I watch of yours the other day, and now I’m watching so many. Thank you for being the kind of person this world needs more of. Especially in front of the camera. 🤗
My condolences. This is a tragic loss for you, your family and the world at large. We have lost a good person.
I'm very sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine what your family is going through.
Honestly sorry for your familys loss. I dont believe for a second he was violent - she was a cold killer, end of.

Did she tell the writer to use those words.
she picked that song specifically. it was her recording herself singing it and had it played at the wedding. total narcissist.
Maybe that's where her subconscious picked up the idea

Just remember: it's much easier to have one difficult conversation with someone and break up with them than it is to be investigated, have to go through trial, then get sentenced to prison for 30 years. That's a lot to avoid one conversation.
And also breaking all their friends and families hearts, for life.
Lmfaooooo right??! You'd think it common sense...They never see it that way until it's too late!!!

"Well you heard the anonymous person emailing us, call off the search."
Off topic but my little sister once “ran away” (she snuck out to go hang out with friends) but she left a note saying she was just really stressed and just wanted to go on a walk. She also said “I am not running away” and that email just gave off the same energy

@@ajfoxw they didn’t consummate so for 99% of the religious groups they’d be okay with it. especially nowadays.
@@J_e_s_s That's so true! And they had only been married for a week, that's barely any time. It's not like they were married for six years.

And so dumb. I mean... she led them to him.
She sounds so fucking creepy
Yeah literally no one would find him if she didn't lead them to that place.
Like everyone said that area down at the bottom of the cliffside from that hiking path has never even been explored before.
Imagine not only killing your spouse but be so damned irritated at the search by his loved ones that you have to hurry up the process by revealing a location where no one has been before and still imagine that you are going to get away with it.
If she didn't do that i don't think anyone would have found his body.
The scary thing is if she was just a little smarter and hadn't written that email or led them to the body she would have most likely gotten away with it.
Absolutely
And added more emitimos

Right! Like full on no one would have found this body and if they did it would have been years abs years later

Just the thought of it is soooo scary🥺
i can't even verbally explain how stupid it is to just straight up drive up there and be like "oh there's my dead husband" with no emotion

That’s exactly what I was thinking
So creepy!
I noticed that immediately and I thought that kendall put the clip in to maybe further discuss it but nope. It is eerie and scary.
Soon as I heard it, I thought the same thing. Very creepy!
Exactly!
Exactly 💯
Agreed! I just think it’s very odd to randomly go to a national park AT NIGHT, especially after having dinner with friends so it doesn’t make sense that they were fighting, there had to been an incentive to go when they did so I definitely see her luring him.
Do people willingly go to that park at night?
Yep! Probably said god led them there, or she said she’ll have sex with him and wants it there to be special or something, she lured him to his death and the poor man was just happy to be married. If friends said he was that afraid of heights, he wouldnt be going up there unless he trusted who he was with.
I find it insane that she only got 30 years for this. It was premeditated and the details are disturbing. People get 30 years for way less.

It's messed up that Jordan said yes to getting married when if she didn't like Cody she could have called off the wedding. That is just twisted.
Right, could’ve just been honest about how she felt:(
That's the most messed up thing I think in any case when it comes to these couples.

They probably wouldn’t have even had to get a divorce. The marriage was so fresh, they probably could’ve just gotten it annulled. Instead, she took his life.
Yeah and they never even consummated the marriage either. I don’t know if they still take that into consideration, but I know they used to.
@@dylanlee2610 I believe they still do.
@Ren Strange
You are absolutely correct.
Or they could have not sent in the certificate so it would never be on record.

Because she didn’t care

It was definitely a crazy time
I was only 15 when this happened, so I didn't really understand the severity of it. I'm glad I watched this video for more details
My condolences to you and your brother!! ❤️❤️
I feel bad for Cody,he just wanted to be loved. This woman is sick in the head no feelings at all. Hope she dont get out of jail!
This was a horrific way to die. Being blindfolded, and pushed off a steep cliff by someone you love. I think people fail to place themselves in his place and how horrific that must’ve been for him. Otherwise they would’ve her a harsher sentence.
Who else finds it ironic that the wedding song had the lyrics "everyone wants a safe place to fall, you help me climb higher"...
That’s the first thing that came to my mind too!
I noticed that immediately
😧
😕really sad this is so sad.
That’s exactly what I was thinking! She’s full of BS! This right here negates that excuse.

Kendall is excellent.
I mean are the pets supposed to understand it’s a conversation about murder? Lmao. All they know is mom is around and that’s all that counts.
That's what i kept thinking the whole video.. Rest in peace Cody ❤, he deserved so much better
... marry in haste .... and all that jazz
He probably jumped into marriage fast so that she can end her celibacy lol
@@mashakalinkina7207 I think he thought that she was just shy, introverted and low key with her displaying her feelings. He probably knew that he was extremely high in extroversion and just didn't bother comparing the way he was displaying his feelings to the way she was. You know like opposites attract kind of thing. Just my theory

I’m so sorry! 😢
There’s not much I can say but I’m sorry anyone close to this had to go through this. This “child” is a wicked dangerous person who deserves to rot in jail for the rest of her life. She was lucky to have found someone who loved her and if she didn’t love him she should have broken it off. Rip Cody

What?!? Their special written wedding song words were this:
"You helped me to climb higher for a better view. You are my safe place to fall.
Everyone wants a safe place to fall."
And then she pulls him off the cliff???? What was that? 😳🤔🧐
I thought that too. Crazy!
That should have been placed into evidence! That lunatic was already foreshadowing his fate.
So creepy
Coincidence? I think not!
maybe foreshadowing the situation.
Just sick...
the way you really get to know these people is special. you really honor these victims and their memory.
In no way is her thought process remotely normal.

💯 percent thought tbat
You read my mind.
Jordan thought she could show the cops the email and they’d be like ‘understandable have a nice day’ and call everything off. 😂
Lol ya like what the heck 😂
And the way it was worded “call off the case he is for sure dead” like how did she think that would make it go away?? That girl is an absolute moron.
@@ohjordyn8312 Chris Watts had a similar strategy. He thought he could get away with it just by telling police his wife took the kids and left like they wouldn’t search for her. Just another moron.

That part gave me shivers. You should not feel comfortable to lie like that. She was not a true Christian. She was a cultural Christian. Big difference. And very upsetting. You cannot trust the image people put out, we have no idea what’s truly in someone’s heart to do.

It sounds like Jordan held a lot of resentment toward Cody for the marriage and the prospect of sex. It’s too bad that the only solution she saw was murder! Just get a divorce! It may suck for a couple of months but everyone will get over it. This all could have been easily avoided
Or just don’t get married in the first place
Honestly they could have gotten an annulment because they didn't consummate the marriage. It would have been like they never gotten married at all, legally.
That always perplexes me _ how is murder the best solution? Take your walk of shame and be done with it.
@@karastired exactly
This quote from the play shook me to the core after just having listened to this video
“Judge: If you just wanted to be free - why didn’t you divorce him?”
“Helen: Oh I couldn’t do that!! I couldn’t hurt him like that!”
Coincidences like this happen to me often, but this seemed too real.
