That happened to me at age 16. My UBER insanely religious step-father insisted that I was a drug addict and alcoholic. (I had only smoked weed a couple times and drank 2 glasses of wine, three times. All of that within the span of 12 months.) His religion was insane. If you've heard of the Westboro Baptist aka "God Hates F*gs" church aka the Phelps family? That's exactly what his church was like. He tried to have me committed against my will, too. Lied to the police and told them that I was an unruly teenage delinquent who threatened to kill him and my step-sister. Thankfully I was able to contact my dad and he came and got me. (My dad and I had a good relationship. It's just that he lived out of state.) Because of my step-father, my relationship with my mom was ruined for a few years. (We had previously been best friends.) My step-father had her brainwashed and blackmailed, though. Thankfully, my mom and I made up and became close. Unfortunately, she ended up with an advanced cancer diagnosis and died about 2.5 years later. She had breast cancer, which is VERY treatable if caught early. She never told me about the cancer until it was very advanced and she had to have emergency surgery. My step-father and his idiotic church had her convinced that if she were only a "good Christian" and prayed hard enough, God would heal her. He didn't believe in going to the doctor or using modern medicine. Her cancer went untreated for 3 years because he had her convinced that if she was good enough and it was God's will, she would be healed. The night she died at home he mumbled "I guess it wasn't God 's will for her to be healed." I literally punched him.

That’s actually a genius idea to present her with an alternative story to go with. They did the same thing with Chris Watts. It’s a way for her to admit there wasn’t an intruder in the house, yet it would be very easy to debunk the suicide story by examining the crime scene. Seems pretty straightforward, standard police-work to me.

I always fast forward if someone sits there for several minutes talking about irrelevant crap, like what their fav color was, what type of food they ate, what kind of car they drove, how many pets they had, etc etc etc. My mind eventually starts to wander and I become disinterested after a while lol.
Another thing that’s really annoying is that everyone always describes all the victims the same- “She was kind, loving, and really cared about others”. And “she always lit up the Room when she walked in”. Or “he was loved by all his family and friends”. Blah blah blah. Lol. I mean, I know they’re trying to honor their memory and all, but it’s annoying for a lot of us viewers cuz we’re literally told the same exact thing about every single victim. It’s a broken record that never gets turned off… 😏

Generally detectives will present a story that is easier for the accused suspect to swallow, usually a story that gives them a way to claim diminished responsibility. If they can get them to admit to actually being there, it’s far easier to eventually get to the real story. Its about not presenting them with such a huge leap. It’s basically a tactic to get them talking. Then you can start pointing out inconsistencies with the story.

It takes a lot of courage to take your own life and what people don't understand is that when it gets to the point where someone takes their own life, that's the only way they see for the suffering, sadness, or what have you to stop. My son was suffering and I'm not sure what was causing his suffering and I'll never know why he took his own life, I'll never have that answer and that plagues me everyday. I’m so sorry for your loss. Suicide does in fact take immense courage. Taking your own life is the height of despair, and I sympathize (and empathize) with anyone who suffers from suicidal ideation. Having said that, it is still selfish. By taking your own life, you transfer your pain to your loved ones (something you unfortunately know all too well). This is the reason why I could never justify suicide, no matter how badly I want to be relieved of my pain. I could never do that to my loved ones.

This happened in my area. My friend worked for them and as this story started, I thought it was so familiar sounding until you mentioned their daughter and growing up in Keller. Yeah, my friend worked at Blueberries (the wild was added on after the homicide) and would often not get a paycheck. I thought it was crazy you initially said how much they made and spent because they truly were floundering behind the scenes. It reopened months later, it seemed like 6 months to a year and added the Wild on to distance from the old owners. My friends and I would walk up there to get boba, it was so good!

So wild, I used to live down the street, off Heritage Trace, and went to Blueberries with my grandma on my way home from swim team when I was a kid 💀💀 I never knew about any of this until watching this video, but it's so surreal seeing all these places that I've literally been to

I can't believe the judge just took her word for it when she said she was pregnant. She should have been given a pregnancy test. When i was alot younger, I was in a holding cell, just for over night and my friend was there too...they gave both of us pregnancy tests. Im not sure why that's normal procedure in DC but I would think it would be required to prove you ARE actually pregnant in situations like this. 🙄

I had an absolutely crazy step mom when I was around 10 -
17 years old- she wouldn’t let me sit next to my dad on the couch (I didn’t live with them, my grandparents raised me), she took an axe to my first car I bought, threw away one of every “pair” I had (socks, shoes, earrings, gloves, etc), called my home 30 times per day leaving hateful messages on the answering machine, stalked me at work and so much more!😢. I worked at the mall and she would stand outside and watch me and even called and made up a fake complaint (I was able to prove it was her because they were sending her a coupon and she used her actual address which was my dad’s house). I don’t know how a grown woman gets jealous of a child, especially now that I’m a mom with 3 teenagers.

I personally see them providing her with the possible s*icide story as their way of going “Maybe this happened?” and when she says “yes that is what happened” they have more evidence to turn around and say “Well we can prove that didn’t happen and that you just lied to us”
Also, it allowed them to arrest here then and there for filing false police report
