I have a 2017 Dodge Durango with the 8.4-inch screen, but unfortunately, it does not support Android Auto or CarPlay. I have observed a noticeable difference in the audio quality when playing music via Bluetooth compared to using Android Auto. While Bluetooth provides decent sound, it lacks volume and requires the volume to be turned up significantly to achieve a satisfactory listening experience. In my personal opinion, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay offer superior audio quality and convenience.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto requires a swap of the radio. Here is our solution. infotainment.com/shop/interior-accessories/infotainment-radio-upgrades/2014-2020-dodge-durango-gps-navigation-8-4-4c-nav-uaq-radio-with-apple-carplay-android-auto-2/ Let me know if you have questions on this.
We do not sell cheap equipment. We sell OEM quality equipment that is fully tested, pre-programmed and procured based on your Vin. There are plenty of companies that sell cheap products. We want to provide a part that we are able to guarantee works and will continue to work. We are confident enough in the product we sell that we are able to warranty it through installation and up to two years depending on your selection at check out. We feel our pricing is competitive as we are comparing our pieces to the cost of getting a new vehicle as opposed the cost of an aftermarket part whose quality is greatly inferior.
We have GM remote starts but not currently for 2018's. Our R&D team can look into it though. Fill out our Product Interest form below and they can keep you updated: forms.zohopublic.com/infotainmentcom/form/ProductInterestListForm/formperma/m7R2exajUQkfs2WJO8mkDzUcYC2HIt5WrUWxFICnigs

Are they coming out with this upgrade for the 2017 RAM?? Patiently waiting for a way to upgrade to get Android auto in my truck. Looks to be the same 8.4 screen. Does this work for the RAM?
We've got the Ram upgrade right here: infotainment.com/shop/2016-ram-1500-classic-build-series-upgrades/2013-2018-ram-1500-2500-3500-8-4-inch-4c-nav-uconnect-uaq-with-apple-carplay-android-auto/
No unfortunately they specifically set it up so that would not be possible. The radio you have does not have the technology to do Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as that was invented in 2018. You would have to completely swap the radio and the hub to gain that feature. Here is our upgrade link. infotainment.com/shop/interior-accessories/infotainment-radio-upgrades/2014-2020-dodge-durango-gps-navigation-8-4-4c-nav-uaq-radio-with-apple-carplay-android-auto-2/
Would I need to change the hub on a 2019? And will the new system keep the Sirius XM system? Lastly, are there additional requirements for video use, like Netflix for example. Please advise Thank you
It will keep the XM and all features present on your Vin currently. As for the hub, the below listing seperates 18-20 as they will not be needing a new hub. Lastly, Mopar/Dodge prevent video in motion. So while many apps will work, Apps like UA-cam and Netflix will not operate.
Hello, That feature should be retained, as the pinout is the same on the CarPlay model. I do not believe you need to replace the inseat hdmi/rca ports. We've never had reports of the rear screens not working with the upgrade.
Unfortunately compatibility with this package starts in 2014. We do have upgrade packages for the 2013 Durango, but unfortunately they would not include the apple carplay/android auto functionality. I invite you to fill out the following Product Interest List Form and we will notify you if and when the kit is developed and available. forms.zohopublic.com/infotainmentcom/form/ProductInterestListForm/formperma/m7R2exajUQkfs2WJO8mkDzUcYC2HIt5WrUWxFICnigs
Feel free to reach out to our sales department with your VIN# in hand to discuss compatibility. We would be happy to help! 1-855-636-6287 Ext: 2 or sales@infotainment.zohodesk.com.
The compatibility configuration for the upgrade package that we offer is for a 2018 Durango is from 2018-2020. So anything from 2018-2020 will have the same compatibility.
This is the Uconnect 4 8.4" UAQ with onboard navigation and Apple carplay/Android auto. If you are already equipped with this from the factory, then it would not be considered an upgrade for your vehicle. Compatibility for this particular package is 2014-2020, so that leaves room for a lot of different factory equipped configurations. Many of our clients are equipped with base model units that lack features or even 8.4" screens that lack Apple Carplay and Android auto. So for those clients lacking those features, this would be considered an upgrade.

Luckily the rotary shifter knob is much easier! You can take a pry tool and work your way around the whole center console area (right at the edge of the storage cavity). It appears that it's about 5 retention clips on both sides, and the rotary knob is just connected to a harness.
This would not be a compatible upgrade for a 2011 Dodge Durango. Take a look at the upgrades that we do offer for a 2011 Dodge Durango. infotainment.com/cars/2011-dodge-durango/

Unfortunately the factory parts aren't cheap, and we do provide a warranty and customer support. So that makes up for it! Alternatively, this radio would be in the higher trim packages of the 2018-2021 Durango.
Thank you for this video! It helped me big time with replacing the USB ports.
No problem at all. We are glad the video was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.

@ thanks for the reply and are there any additional upgrades to bypass the “no-motion” feature?
Does it have rca plugs for a aftermarket amp hook up?
No it does not. Only aftermarket radios have that standard. OEM radios do not.
Is there a way to upgrade a 2014 Dodge Journey with the 8.4N system to have Apple CarPlay?
Not yet. Our R&D team can look into it though.
What about the 2014 durango w/rear screens? Need to replace the in-seat hdmi/rca ports??

Yes that is correct. Four 20mm screws need to be removed to pull the screen out.
I have a 2015 DD R/T I have NAV already, would I just need to update the USB hub then?
