If you have fast glass and at least 1/1000 sec. then from my experience the only reason for unsharp pictures is how you hold the camera/lens. This is especially the case for long lenses like 300mm or more. So a solid three point fixation is key there. I have one hand at the grip (obviously), the second hand on the lens as far away as possible und a solid Monopod as the third point of contact.
Hi David! Another great video and solid advice. If it might be basic for some, even though is always a good refresher! Muito bom como de costume! Cheers Abraço
I learned all of these lessons by epic fails! For sports, the number one priority is shutter speed at all costs! Blurry pictures cannot be saved. Use high ISO and maximum aperture to get at least 1/1000 minimum shutter speed for sports. Also, excellent point about the extreme shallow focus plane when using a telephoto lens wide open. Even though I have a Canon 70-200 2.8, I always set the aperture at 4.0 to 5.6! 2.8 is just too shallow!
I wonder how you could specifically use the name AI Servo when explaining continues auto focus feature in the moderna cameras. That name is relevant only to some older cameras by one specific brand. Anyway, thank you for the video. I hope you could be more brand agnostic. Thx!
The majority of tips I try to share with people can be applicable to any brand, but you're right, I'm not brand agnostic, I shoot with Canon, I talk about Canon cameras and lenses. Thanks for watching.
Another informative video David, thank you.
