Chariot lance is very high economy compared to Grand lance and allows you way more levels to spend on other stats like equip load and stamina. The lower your equip load % the faster your stamina regens. Can also do a greatshield setup with it since it already needs big strength. Grand lance will be better with infusion and buffs but you need a lot of stats for that. Also dont underestimate leveling stamina. Yeah you "only" get 1 point after 20 (you get 2 before 20) but that's only halved scaling and it only stops at 99 meaning 20-99 is 79 stamina. Of course you dont need to max it but it will give you more leeway when swinging dual ultragreatswords or other high stamina setups. Couple that with low equip load % stamina regen and it's very good.
@@DTPandemonium not only grand lance is lighter and takes less stats, but if you mean "saving levels" as in not using a weapon buff to justify using a worse weapon... that is an interesting logic lol. You also say "save levels" but then you go ahead and say chariot's "needs bigh strength" lol. So no you arent saving any levels by using a weapon that is worse than grand lance infused with no buffs. Not sure what the whole stamina ramble was about, I never mentioned stamina in the video but that doesnt mean I undervalue it.
@@OfficialMetalhead You save levels because classes in this game start with much lower stats than usual and you cant just go dark infusion with dark weapon while picking a physical or magic class using high requirement lances. I checked the character planner to compare. Yes you can use grand lance for like a 2% damage increase with a little less strength 2 handed but Chariot is also higher reach. (Another pro I forgot to mention sry) Once you can use weapon buffs grand lance is definitely better for sure even when leo ring doesnt effect elemental damage (160 counter damage still does)
@@brandonrogers5207 on the contrary, buffs like dark weapon and eventually sunlight blade should almost always be used so it would not make sense not to show them buffed
A majority of weapons don't scale well in this game including almost all of them on this list. Buffs, rings, infusions, and equipment like engraved gauntlets are how you get more damage. The pursuer encounters are still a pain for me though. I’ve been leveling my ADP like crazy. I read some info on i-frames and I’ve been aiming for 111 agility so I can get close to the DS1 ninja flips.
@@nickoliekeyov746 Hi, I worked on this video with Metalhead. We will be making a video on AGL/ADP soon to combat bad information about the mechanic. You should know that in terms of AGL your breakpoints are 92/96/99. You really should not have to go past 99 AGL for any reason. It can be confusing because there is a lot of bad advice on this mechanic floating around but hopefully we will be able to share some resources soon to put the misinfo to rest. We have frame data on our side. 💝
@@PenPenPlon to add into what pen said 96 agl is the same s as ds1, with 99 you have an extra than in ds1, which is more than enough to comfortably dodge any attack in the game

After watching this video i may give ds2 another shot, it had its issues the only nail in the coffin was the adaptability stat bs. Outside of that i was enjoying my time playing it
I hope you enjoy it this time, you can get 92 agl after the first boss which is a perfectly fine amount of s, and then once you get to 96 agility you basically the same s as ds1

Good video
Ur best kill yet homeslice. GGs it was me. Skibidi toilet.
I disagree with a couple of choices but a bunch of these weapons have unlocked....memories...of pvp back in the day.
Also about the Bluemoon, the damage isn't really worth it if obtained early and the durability is just atrocious. It feels much better when you're deep into the game imo, unlike some weapons like the mace that are just great from the getgo.

Good video but what about bows and crossbows?
@@NoVa_Dragoon I will be doing a video on that at some point but
Dragonrider bow is the best bow until you get Bow of want which you wanna use lightning infused, all bows except Bow of Want are best used uninfused.
Heavy crossbow and Avelyn are the best crossbows and should be used raw.
To add to what Metal said Bow of Want is considered best infused with lightning only for its special lightning projectile attack according to the data that is currently available. We are going to have to do some calculations and also take ammo type into consideration with in-game testing to be absolutely sure.
But what is the best universal weapon I can decently kill anything like say oh the ancient dragon?

Not so long ago i did a character on which i powerstanced the craftman hammer and dragon slayer axe and jesus never realize how weak most enemies are to blunt/strike weapons.
I thought the great axe from the black knights and the dragon shrine would b among the best ones
@@elektra8535 the black knight greataxe behaves like a halberd and utilizes the obnoxious sweetspot mehcanic, on top of blakc knight weapons already being weak due to them dealing innate fire damage which is the single most resisted element in the game.

96 brightbugs?! How many NG plus plus did you play?
TOO MANY
@@OfficialMetalhead Given about 24 brightbugs per cycle, it is at least NG+5! Dang, this is quite a lot of cycles.

@@GoonCommander haha it's never too late to learn these things
Bro!!! I ONLY use Fire and Lightning infused longswords switching between them if needed for a boss and otherwise as their durability runs out🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Why!?!?
You mentioned that it's better to get half of the str requirements and twohand most of the weapons, but what if my playstyle involves lots of parrying and using torches? Love both of these mechanics, but at the same time feels bad wasting 25 extra points to onehand my dragon tooth. Prob not the right weapon to use for that lol
@@tokitamuscleupper if you want to 1 hand then you would want a weapon that doesn't have a high str requirment, weapons like homunculus mace and ice rapier are great weapons to one hand, they have low requirements and deal great dmg

Vitality: 10 (no more or you'll lose flynns ring damage)
Dexterity: 15

Sir Alonne Katana is great tho…
Wait for spears you picked the Gargoyle Bident but the Yorgh's Spear has more damage
@@eumeliovazquezjr1630 Yorgh's literally does not have a single spear attack lol, its not even a spear
@@OfficialMetalhead what do you mean it is a spear weapon. It is classified as a spear.
@@eumeliovazquezjr1630 its classified as a spear but has the lance and twinblade R1 combined with other moves, none of which you find on other spears, it being classified as one has no impact on the game, when people look for a spear they look for a specific moveset that spears provide and this couldnt be further from that. Its just like Drakekeeper's warpick being classified as a greathammer and having the halberd moveset along with using the sweetspot mechanic. Or king's ultra greatsword, which is classified as an ultra greatsword but has the greataxe moveset just like crypt blacksword.
@@OfficialMetalhead yeah I understand your point. What do you think of that weapon? I as because I am using 2 of them right now for a play through.
I still dont understand why i shoulnt use fire longsword ?
Fire is the most resisted damage type on average, lightning is the least resisted hence why most but not all things should be lightning infused. Sometimes other things should be Raw infused or left on the base infusion path depending on scaling.
No love for the Bruce Lee fists? I think snowy dlc and hard to get two (maybe had to burn twice) but when powerstanced! Woo hoo the fun i had with those

Best greatsword is the drakeblood greatsword
@@Altulegio it's a cool sword for sure, but not as good as bluemoon
@@OfficialMetalhead i mean at +10 its S scaling in dex, has the counter damage of a katana and does a bit of magic and lighting damage at base.
has short reach tbh
@@Altulegio even with it's counter dmg dbgs deals less dmg than bluemoon until you get sunlight blade + sacred oath, then it starts out damaging bluemoon on counters but deals less on non counters, so thats when it becomes competitive, but to be able to say it's better you'd need to reach 40 dex for the damage gap to be big enough that drakeblood becomes better due to its counter dmg. So it can be better but very late and it needs a lot of investment, while bluemoon + dark weapon beats it for the vast majority of the run

@@sweetshousegirl cake found my channel😙
(Another pro I forgot to mention sry)
Once you can use weapon buffs grand lance is definitely better for sure even when leo ring doesnt effect elemental damage (160 counter damage still does)

Probably shouldn’t be showing these weapons doing damage while being buffed
@@brandonrogers5207 on the contrary, buffs like dark weapon and eventually sunlight blade should almost always be used so it would not make sense not to show them buffed
A majority of weapons don't scale well in this game including almost all of them on this list. Buffs, rings, infusions, and equipment like engraved gauntlets are how you get more damage.
The weapons on this list are also here because they tend to buff extremely well and that is one of the things that makes them so good.
