Konami is dead in the water... which is a shame, since they still hold some of the most beloved IPs of all time that haven’t seen great games in years.
I thought I had found an error or something. I was slashing and slashing and slashing and he wasn't dying. Ugh finally killed him. That was actually tiresome instead of fun.
@ninjitsian its in a hidden room in the upside down castle by where the mermen were in the original castle, you have to break the rocks where the pot roast was, walk through it going right to left in wolf form, and fly back through it in bat form. the secret room is in the top right corner of the screen.
You get the Beryl Circlet in the reverse entrance, go through the small rock pillar in the moat room on the left side, go through half of it as bat, then come out the other side as wolf, then go to the top right and go through the new passage, there the Beryl Circlet is.
virtually that's all he ever do, add the attack where he smashes his rod and that other version of the lightning where he fires at you when ur in mid-air.
Secret wall in the inverted entrance area with the big rock in the center. Break it open, go through one end as a Bat and then go back through it as the Wolf Form. A wall should open up in the upper right corner in the room.
I just spent three hours trying to beat this bloke. I think if I show him this video and pay him, maybe he'll agree to do some of the moves he was doing that day as opposed to the 'constant lightning balls' method he's opting for today.

I had to beat this boss the hard way; without any resist lightning buff. It won't be several playthroughs later that I accidentally find the beryl circlet. Definitely the most challenging boss fight.
@OmegaMaxter I agree that the circlet does make this fight pansy, I just use mist form to dodge his attacks and like this guy did, spam the alucard sword.
Hes cheap and easy if you use beryl circlet, alucard shield and shield rod. But I did a run through with no shield, period (and didn't get a drop of crissagrim)..so he was a difficult fight. I don't think the librarian even lists his hp.
Even without the circlet Alucard still has a lot of broken abilities. For the orb projectiles backdash away and if cornered get to the other side with bat or wolf form. And that's about it, not that hard.
I play this game when I saw the galamothh even harder than the final boss dracula, but then I discovered an almost infallible scheme to defeat them quickly, as soon as they enter the room until the galamoth climb the left platform and transformation into a bat and a dash to stop behind the platform right behind the head of galamoth coseguir properly and directly attacked his neck which is the part that causes more damage around 147 hp depending on the level......
My way of him is very simple, step 1 get the lightning brand, step 2 fly over him with mist, step 3 go to the upper right corner platform and make sure you are using lightning brand and start hitting him if done correctly he should be in a position where if you hit him over and over he will be stuck there in that position, warning he may move out of it if not hitting over and over
i would spam ⬇️↘️➡️+ attack with Alucard Sword or the Osafune Katana on his leg, theres a visual cue in the animation frames to repeat the motion, if timed perfectly Ill always be invincible smack in the middle of lightning

I can beat this boss in literally no more than 5-10 seconds. Yes, I said SECONDS! The trick is right before you enter the room, put on any ring or items that will multiply your hit power, don't worry about defense too much, you'll kill him so fast you wont need a lot of def points. Next equip the Alucard Shield (not AlucarT shield) and the Shield Rod. This makes the Alucard Shield into an offensive weapon! A very effective one that Galamoth cant defend. Just stick on his foot and hold it! Viola!
you get a circlet to get healed by lightning.. Then you have to get mablung sword or shield rod to use on alucard shield. then kill it :P the holy glasses show a orb flying around richter at final battle. kill that orb and go to inverted glasses , holy glasses can be required at the big clock , you need gold ring and silver ring
I did not know about the beryl circlet, and it took me ages to beat him with the silly strategic I came up with: I bought the duplicator and: a) I used the neutron bomb repeatedly or something like it (maybe carma coin, or a mix of many (use) items), b) I used on me lighting resistance all the time, c) and potion all the time. But it was slow and silly.
Of course, he has one major weakness, there's a trick that'll let you stun him until he dies. You need to continuously strike his head from the start of the fight until he dies.

Cheapest way to beat this guy Alucard Shield with Shield Rod activate the boost and you do around 240 damage just by walking into in with the shield up takes about 30 secs to beat him that is the cheapest way to beat him
lol i didnt have beryl circlet when i did this...or alucards shield + shield rod...i killed him by using alucards sword's special ability (down, down-forward, forward). If you time it right you can just keep using it and never return to a 'solid' state and therefore never get hit...still took me a few times to master the timing but got it eventually.
i remmember repeating this battle over and over, it was very difficult, I bought every damage item from the librarian, because I didnt know about the beryl circlet :(
I don't remember much about this boss or dracula. I defeated him like a minute or less with the iron shield+ magic rod combo. It works wonders because you can be invincible and still move around. I know castlevania games design bosses with a general strategy like avoiding Dracula's demon floating balls in Rondo of Blood by ducking the first and jumping the next, but I did what I had to. How much can I say... Well, Shield Rod + Alucard Shield, Beryl Circlet Regular Speed Run to Galamoth Galamoth vs Richter Easiest to Hard, all very fun if you're into it.
I was trying to explain to a player about how to get this boss to do an ability over an over like this. AI was dumb back in those days and most of the time, the game just reacted to where you were standing. Just like we see in this video, this player backs up a little after every ability to get Galamoth to do the same ability over and over again.
I always beat Galamoth with just my sword, I don't use any tricks [of any kind] to win. Takes forever, but it shows who's really better between Galamoth and Alucard.
Try beating him without the lighting mail and using the Osfune Katana transportation trick (doing a Street Fighter II, Ryu hadoukken move). Now that is a hard fight.
Probably old at this point and irrelevant... but i just started playing this game last week on PS4. After dying twice, I found a SUPER easy way to kill him with no tricks. I had the ghost familiar equipped, and I flew up to the ledge on the right side of the screen. Galamoth gets stun locked and can't do anything. The fight took like 2 minutes of wacking his head (I thought I was doing something wrong at first) but he died pretty easy.
I noticed that on the Playstation's 1997 Version of SOTN, you could easily fly past his head to a platform before he stands completely up and swing your Alucard Sword at his head and kill him in a matter of seconds because he won't move. However!!!!!!!!!!! I also tried to do this on the Sega Saturn Dracula X game and the PSP DXC version................It didn't work. Someone at Konami fixed this little gimmic after 1997. Galamoth just walks back, thus making more challenging and difficult.
On my last play through, I decided to leave him until after I beat Dracula, got the Crissagram, Mourneblade, God's Garb, Dragon Helm, Twilight Cloak and two Rings of Varda. It was ridiculously easy.
I dunno, surviving the fight and killing him in seconds are two different things for me. It's how I kill him that matters. Well, at least, try to view my other galamoth fight, at least there, it's really his biggest weakness and no more circlets or any other stuff.
He was a cinch for me since I had good weapons but if you didn't, yeah, he can be a bitch. Taking him down with Richter and no sub weapons was one of the best fights I had, I still had the good ol' flame whip_^)
I remember doing this fight by misting between his legs and using my crissagrim. Fairy familiar equipped and pretty much win. It's hard to time the mist right because it's only like a 2sec shot or something like that. Oh yeah, this guy on Richter is far far far FAR worst
This guy has on the hard-to-find Cat's Eye Gem, which gives HP for the electrical damage that Galamoth puts out. Without that Gem, this is a fairly challenging Boss (my ONE complaint about this game being that it was way, way, way too easy).
I have a feeling that even Dracula himself would stay far away from Galamoth.
I didn't have this item to absorb lighting, so I just avoided everything using the mist hahaha
I love how even after you kill the toughest boss in the game, it just goes right back to the same demented creepy song as if nothing even happened.
How do you feel knowing thats what the Belmonts basically do every 100 years in the main game plot

Aunque aùn no juego este Catlevania, pero te odio.
Lançou o pt br no demonião
I dunno, surviving the fight and killing him in seconds are two different things for me. It's how I kill him that matters. Well, at least, try to view my other galamoth fight, at least there, it's really his biggest weakness and no more circlets or any other stuff.
I don't need to guess, it's that cheap ol' Alucard Shield + Shield Rod, oldest trick in the book.
My means of beating him was to spam shield summons from the Mablung sword.
Beryl Circlet found in the reverse entrance.
Here is the best way to defeat the boss, get a shield rod and Alucards shield then u have the op shield that can kill anything
He was a cinch for me since I had good weapons but if you didn't, yeah, he can be a bitch. Taking him down with Richter and no sub weapons was one of the best fights I had, I still had the good ol' flame whip_^)
defeating galamoth with richter is a pain in the ass
press both weapon and when you see all shield your shield will be like medusa that can hit monsters with high damage per sec.
yes and try searching my vids for th castle entrance hidden/bonus room, do it in the inverted castle and you'll get the circlet
damn bro you went DBZ rapid style on that boss. You get props.
I remember doing this fight by misting between his legs and using my crissagrim. Fairy familiar equipped and pretty much win. It's hard to time the mist right because it's only like a 2sec shot or something like that.
Oh yeah, this guy on Richter is far far far FAR worst
I just reached this boss in ps4
he kicked my ass millions of times :(
Most memorable boss in the game. Period.
It was epic seeing a dragon gladiator back when I first saw this.
This guy has on the hard-to-find Cat's Eye Gem, which gives HP for the electrical damage that Galamoth puts out.
Without that Gem, this is a fairly challenging Boss (my ONE complaint about this game being that it was way, way, way too easy).
Yeah sotn is too easy but it's still a masterpiece
Oh snap. This is gonna be cake now.
