I found 2 of them in different chests. One chest, you go past Neuhoff stables, stay on that road and you'll come to a camp on the left side of the road. There are tents, a fire, look around and you'll see a chest with a Boche shield leaning against it. The sword and some excellent armor are in the chest. The shield is the best in the game. 150 defense. The other chest takes a long time to tell how to get there.
Had to boot the game to make sure I could still find the first chest I found. Go to Ledechko. There is a road heading West from the town, as soon as your out of town turn North, cross 2 fields and you'll come across a small trail running West in front of the woods to the North. Go along that track and you'll come to a rock outcrop sticking in the trail. Turn North into the woods at the outcrop as you go North stay on the lookout for a large dead tree with a fence around it. Inside the fence against the tree will be a easy lockpick chest, the sword is in that chest also. The tree isn't far into the forest.
@@ftbbuck3705 You can find it in a chest above Ledetchko. ESO has made a guide on a way to get the sword. Here is the video link ua-cam.com/video/NYctqnaVyQ8/v-deo.html
For head gear use Padded coif, Noble's mail coif, and arching bascinet. For torso use Decorated arming doublet, Long noble hauberk, and Nurembergian cuirass. For arms use Magdeburg plate pauldrons and Nobleman's gauntlets. (Not to be confused with Noble's gauntlets) for legs use any hose, Mail chausses, and Magdeburg chausses. They replace footwear as well. If you have the Warhorse helmet, it is superior to Arching Bascinet. To improve blunt damage consider using a Combat jupon over your armor but it doesn't matter because you're indestructible. The best longsword is called St. George's sword. The best short sword is called Noble's Sword. The Yew longbow is the best I've seen and better piercing arrows to match. Both Noble's Sword and St George's can be found at a camp on the road northeast of Neuhoff. The Magdeburg plate can be bought in Sasau from Master Ota, Mail chausses are common, Long noble hauberk is rare on bandits, Noble's mail coif can be bought in Rattay, Padded coif is rare on bandits, Nobleman's gauntlets are very rare on bandits, Nurembergian cuirass can be found in treasure spots, Arching bascinet can be bought in Sasau from Ota. Yew longbow from the Rattay huntsman. I hope this helps!
Specifically the reason I clicked this video was to find out what the best saber is and how to get it. In the items in game there's something called the "Exotic Eastern Blade" but I've yet to see it in game and I'm fairly leveled. In fact I only just recently was able to find the Decorated Sabre.
Armor isn't super important to me because I've built a character mostly relying on agility and just being as technical and perfectly timed as I can be in combat. That and a bit of stealth. For most scenarios at least.
Sit Nomine Digna I've been going as bronn from game of thrones lol, so i can dig the light armor, hope you find the saber, ill comment again if i see anything
i feel like combos are extremely useless cause enemies scale so badly that they just block all of your attacks and when you hit them they die in 2 shots.
I never even bother with combos because unless the combo is face-stab face-stab face-stab it doesn't do much damage anyway. :D The only combo you need to learn in the game is "feint random direction face stab". Doing anything else is master-strike / parry / riposte all day...
Honestly archery is the only way to really get anywhere as the ai perfect blocks and win the bind so often it really just make melee combat an absolute chore.
I can't use combos in actual Battle for shit, especially the longer ones, it relies in hitting the other first hits and everyone either perfect blocks it, dodges or the combo simply doesn't work.
DramatisPersona well I barely use shields, startes recently to try it out, i only get to pull of combos in the training, as stated the thing simply flops and doesn't do anything or the bandit in rags and using a shiv master parries everything and i cant pull it off, and aren't perfect blocks supposed to get you a free attack that can only be blocked by a perfect block? They block my shit normally all the time.
Speed Force is right. While player skill is important, your stats are still a big deal. If your warfare or sword skill is low, you're not going to have an easy go of it in combat unless you choose your opponents carefully. Also, it may not be chivalrous, but don't be afraid to soften the enemy up with an arrow or three before engaging in melee.
you forgot that you can buy coats you can wear over your plate ( even chest plate. ) They go in the hood slot. Tailor sells them. Some of them have around 12 defense.
Called frokkens or something, I found a sick black one that coats Henry down to the knee along side a black combat jacket, means I can sacrifice full plate when I’m just bumming around pillaging bandits.
You can just get St. George’s sword which does 72 slash and stab without bonuses. You can find it if you follow the road NE/E from neohof. You’ll find a camp with a chest in it, for me it had no locks.
In my opinion thats kinda like "cheating" and ruining the game for yourself. I dont think the developers intended to have a chest with the best gear that everyone can access from the beginning. Its probably a leftover from development/testing. Personally Im avoiding it in my first playtrough.
Hans Capon also use this sword. Stealing it from the chest in the bathhouse during that quest is 100% possible and nobody will say a thing. Just remember to put it on your horse since guards wont like it.
I made my armor based around charisma, to the Milanese[i think its called] arm and leg plates are good. is good, with the warhorse helmet. I use a mace almost all the time because of the ability to knock out some people with just 2 hits while draining their stamina quite significantly. Requesting the "wench" and taking a shower will give 20 charisma with good defence and being able to take our multiple enemies with ease(obviously if you have skill.
Speedrun to get powerful in this game, go back to the town you started in, carefully defeat the max-level bandits that spawn there in. Loot their bodies for the best equipment in the game. I did this on accident on hour in. Another thing that I like about this game is even with the best weapons and armor, a mob of peasants can surround and kill you.
You forgot the outer layer gambisons. I found that if you go to the tailor, right next to the armor smith in Rattay, then you can buy the outer armored layer.
The best Longsword is St. George’s Sword, with very high piercing and slashing damage. Herod’s Sword has slightly higher slashing damage, but St. George’s Sword is better in every other way. You can get one either at an unoccupied camp NE of Neuhof, or from Hans Capon’s chest during his quest. The best Shortsword is the Noble’s Sword, with high piercing and slashing damage. You can get one at the unoccupied camp NE of Neuhof. The best Axe is the Metal Plated Battleaxe, though there are actually two varieties of the weapon: one with a spike on the top which deals some piercing damage, and one with a larger blade that deals slightly more slashing and blunt damage. You can get one with a spike from the same camp as above. The best Mace is a bit more complicated. The Bailiff’s Mace deals just as much damage as the Ceremonial Mace, which is more expensive and requires more strength, but the Ceremonial Mace has higher defense, durability, and charisma. There’s also the Raven’s Beak, which deals slightly less blunt damage than the above two but has a spike for a little bit of piercing damage. Again, you can get a Raven’s Beak from the unoccupied camp. You can get the majority of these weapons with the exception of St. George’s Sword from the weaponsmith in Rattay as well, though they’re all pretty expensive with the exception of the Bailiff’s Mace.
The died Milanese Brigandine is of the best armor in the game, and there is a piece that goes over plate armor, the outer garment, and there is one outer garment, the Quartered combat jacket which makes a huge diference in wearing or not wearing it. Btw there is a weapon which is the overall best weapon in the game, the St. George's sword, it can be obtained if you find a fenced dead tree by the northen woods of Ledetchko, there isn't an available treasure map for it, but it was datamined from the game folders. It has 72 both slash and stab, with only 3 blunt, has 110 defense but only 71 durability. It has nice ornaments and overall a nice Longsword with which to slash your oponents elegantly.
I like to RP and because i love history of that time i equipped myself with what i read from a Medieval Serbian order that states buying Milanese armor sets, Spanish Swords and German swords. Hence i use the Milanese armor set a Hounskull helmet because i like it and am not a fan of the italian or German bascinet that makes me look like Fredy Kruger.
Actually the best sword is St. George's Sword it's a hybrid sword with 72 dmg on both stab and slash but only 3 on blunt. It can be found at the camp by the road going northeast from Neuhof. The camp is on the left side of the road it's really hard to miss.
Good guide ! Most of the ppl (by comments) didn't quite understand the point of using different layers I believe, i.e. - the best stats of an armor doesn't mean invariably given the best protection.
-Milanese plate armor is more effective -Hounskull, slotted helmet is more effective -You're missing an armor layer. Extra padding outside of plate armor can be worn
Best suits of armor IMO: House of Zool (plate + houndskull) Lords of Leipa (plate + houndskull) Warhorse armor (plate + unique helm) Light armor (achen brigandine, riveted vambraces, bell kettle, gamberson/doublet); this is best suited for light work, archery, travel etc. My favorite swords in order: Queen of Sheeba (amazing all round damage, low durability) St. George's/St. Micheal's sword (both high damage decent durability longswords) Herods sword (best slash damage, high durability) Stinger/robber barons sword/noble sword (very good shortswords) For axes go for any that have 45+ damage For maces go for 60+ damage (bailifs mace, ceremonial mace [very heavy]) As far as warhammers ravens beak or "heavy warhammer (45+ damage)
Just gonna throw out something you mentioned about stealth...you do NOT want to strip completely, you want to wear Black Dyed Clothes, cause it makes you harder to see in the dark. Yes that is actually a thing, i was wearing full black shit when i was clearing out bandits from Skalitz during the night. One of the bandits walked Right past me, he did not see me at all (and my stealth ain't even that high, even below 10 i think) cause i was wearing full black, and don't worry Too much about the Noise, cause i was at...25-28 or something and i could easily quickly sneak up on him and stealth kill him, and the other 6 bandits. Hell, even before all of that i was sneaking around the stores of Rattay at night stealing their shit at noise 50 or something, they did not wake up....unless i got too close ofc, like, within stabbing range.
After finishing the game twice now (and restarting about 5 times XD), the items I found worked best for me were, axe for blunt/slash (all round weapon), bow cuman or yew bow (from huntsman in Rattay) when you can use it which owns groups of bad guys no matter what they wear. I dont wear plate at all, chain works well, you can run better and get the dodge perk (50%) + steal better + have more weight for loot. With high stealth it seems the bad guys stop looking for you fast, you can easily kite them with a bow to take down massive groups of easily. Go to Newhof (hoof) and get a nice teir 5 horse with all the gear.
You can be sneaky with full plate, my character has a noise of 22 with full plate without a helmet(I don't like the restricted vision). With the padding perk & forester you are pretty much invisible while in a forest. My gear is Aachen dark brigandine, black scarf, dark padded coif, dark Saxon gambeson, decorated black hose, golden spurs, Kuttenberg gauntlets, long noble hauberk, Magdeburg plate legs & arms, mail chausses, necklace, nobles's mail coif, and signet ring. Also I use the Cuman metal shield which goes well with the set up.
I'm sure somone has pointed it out to you already. The ancient treasure chests are not a pre order only perk. The warhorse armor is. Non pre-order people can still find the chests. You can buy or find the maps, or just look online for locations.
Awesome vids, keep it up! If you figure it out, you should do a video about archery and arrows. I still don't understand the difference in arrows completely. Long distance seem to do the most damage, but is it actually based on distance? Do they fly further than piercing, wounding etc. Do hunting arrows actually perform better vs beasts, or are they just a cheap alternative to better arrows? Which bows should I use 'Better' arrows with? I just got enough strength to use my first longbow (ash longbow), but are longbows considered 'better' and are less effective with regular arrows. Archery in this game is amazing, I just wish it was a bit more clear. 4:50 You mention not using plate with a bow, but I haven't noticed any stats changing whether or not I'm wearing plate. Plus, enemies seem to have infinite stamina so once they close on me using a bow the only way I can run away from them is on a horse. Ive tried kiting plate wearing enemies when I'm only wearing my stealth set (cloth).
Nice and informative video. I have found that wearing mostly simple cloth works very well since you're so fast without having all this heavy stuff weighing you down. Dodging is the best anti-damage after all, it does however suffer a bit against missiles though so you need to keep an eye out for sneaky archers.
@@duchessskye4072 ik its been years but you can also use kettle helms, aachen or other brigandines, and riveted vambraces. Even with all that the Light Armor perk is still active.
Sorry mate but you missed out the best mace (ceremonial) You forgot to mention: Stinger can be brought You CAN wear padded armour on top of plate adding even more blunt defense It seems the top end brigandines are better than most plate (something a lot of people do not like, and it does seem a little odd) And riveted seems to be the best leg defence Edit Meng is correct enough The ceremonial stats are 3,3,61,43,17,81 vs 22,61,30,14,55 At nearly a grand less the balifs is the better choice unless you want the charisma boost but some of the swords are better for that
A brigandine is literally leather riveted to a metal plate, so yes, it makes complete sense that it would be more protective. Leather also gives more coverage than just a plate does so it's not as easy for an opponent to strike at a weakpoint.
Ceremonial mace is weaker than bailiff mace. I have the right strength requirement too. I haven't found a mace stronger than bailiffs mace even though it's cheaper than ceremonial
Hardly If brigandines were better pray tell why the nightly class did not use them exclusively? Why would you go to battle in something that cost more, and was less functional? brigandines were the armour of the lower and middle class, a improved version of the coat of plats and full plate was supirior
Brigandines were also far cheaper and faster to manufacture, as well as lighter, compared to a full articulated cuirass. Something like a third of the effort of making a full plate harness is in the chest armour but with a brigandine you can cut nearly a month of labour out of the process.
You covered everything I wanted to know, nice job 👍🏼 Maybe for another video after you can cover the best perks to have early on and some to save for last?
I’m ocd or just weird idk but I have to put my armor on in order of padding, mail, and then plate if I don’t I’ll take it all off and restart it’s just satisfying seeing Henry effectively get dressed up in armor
There are multiple different monk clothes the darkest of those hide a lot of your armour and lower your visibility pretty far despite waring full armour Good for stealthy knights pretty bad for your charisma
If your looking for a more mobile build or stealth based, then you can instead choose to have leather based armour on all of the plate slots, they don't offer nearly as much defense, but they barely impact your noise or visibility scores, or as a middle ground the light lamellar
Your videos are legit. You sold me after this second combat tutorial I’ve seen. Keep up these more complicated advanced tutorials. Your basic ones are awesome
The mail chausses probably have a high blunt defence because it wont let you wear both the padded and mail chausses, as would be realistic and very practical. I like to think the mail chausses in game are already lined with a layer of padding inside.
@@dosidicusgigas1376 The Chausses only go up to about halfway up the thigh on the inside and connect at hip level on the outsides. The gambeson, chainmail skirt and plate faulds would protect the squishy bits. The family jewels, as it were. But in the late 15th and early-mid 16th century, they started experimenting with gambeson and chainmail trunks (shorts) and even fully enclosed cod pieces on really high end armors. Those kinds of pieces are most common among knights and Men At Arms that preferred to fight on food as the added bulk may interfere with riding a horse
Im sorry man, but eveything about "the best gear" you talk about in this video is almost entirely wrong. I believe only the Nuremberg plate chest is the best in slot you can get and thats a town in germany. When it comes to warhammers, I'd like to mention that while not wanting a lot of slashing damage, getting pierce damage is useful for the stab attack.
Well i agree for the most part with this, but ill say that if your trying to go for a stealthy build you dont necessary have to take all of your stuff. In my opinion the Dark saxon gambison is the best in the game that ive found so far, it has very high defence values on it but what makes it so Amazing is its extremely stealthy also, theres a black hood you can get that ive found off of a bandit that has stupid high amount of stealth to it and can extremely lower your stealth, for chest piece i go for the dark Achen brigantine chest piece you can get it from the Armorsmith in rattay, while it doesnt provide as much armor as italian type plate it makes up for that for being extremely stealthy, for gloves i go with hunting gloves it has ok Armor stats its the best non plate gloves ive found and it has great stealth values on it, i go with Augsberg Arm Plate which has high Armor stats and decent stealth. I'll post my Full armor list tmrw but with my Armor its possible to have your cake and eat it too, i have over 30 plus in Slash and pierce in the head, body and arms, you really dont have to worry about leg armor because its extremely rare to get hit there and my visual is under 30 and my conscipous is under 30 and with the padded armor skill in repair skill set you dont ever have to worry about noise ryt now my noise is at zero haha
If you wanna jack of all traits weapon, go for axe, just don’t use stab attack, use a bow or a short sword if you need that stab damage, or a spear if you can get your hands on one
Taking off all your gear isn't the best thing for stealth actually, wearing dark armor/clothing (no plate ofc) will drop your visibility and conspicuousness, if you have the maintenance perk "Padding" you can repair said dark armor to reduce the noise to 0 while still wearing the padded armor and so having some defence stats in case you DO get caught.
I went to the bandit village that you have to clear as part of the main story and I cleared it by myself. My character has level 12 swordfighting and level 10 in warfare and I was literally cutting people down with ease, all I had to do was kite them all to a choke point like the bridge and with the Herod sword I made quick work of them. It was quite hilarious to watch their archers killing their own men since they were trying to hit me through a wall of bandits. Henry can be a one man army but you will need to have some pretty good gear and a bit of luck to pull of killing 30 bandits alone. I won't lie it did take me about 3 or 4 tries to clear it but it can be done if your stats are high enough. I don't recommend doing this if you care about the main story, I did it just to see if I could and with the right tactics it can be done.
ArtofWar I did the same thing, and once you go back there for the actual story mission, they all respawn. I did still poison their food and burn their arrows, so there might have been less soldiers than normal.
In response to what you said at 7:38 What you're not understanding is that the spiked warhammer combines its stab, slash, and blunt damage with its regular swings. It is one of 4 other maces in the game to do that. Making it incredibly powerful. So it's actually doing 59 damage per swing. Not 46. kingdom-come-deliverance.fandom.com/wiki/Spiked_warhammer
polearms are strongest weapons damage wise. they have the highest attack out of one or two of the three attack types. the drawback for these are that you cannot sharpen them and you cannot equip them as your primary weapon. you can only pick it up and use it. they do level, but there are no techniques you can use with them through perk progression. progression only increases their maximum damage.
For the Piercer Longsword, simply knockout or kill the executioner at Gallows Hill and take it from him. I did that on my first play through right at the beginning of the game unknowingly getting one of the best swords in the game.
You don't NEED the ancient maps to find the pre-order stashes. They are in the game world for everyone. having the maps just make sit easier to find them. so technically everyone has access to that gear if they are willing to do a little research online. This goes for all treasure maps in the game, you don't really need them, it just make sit easier to find the treasures.
They should allow us to change gear during battle. I know they are going for the more realistic approach but when your being attacked by 3 people. Long sword, Mace, bow can cause a quick death. Hopefully your last save is not to far back. Regardless this game is a true hidden Treasure. I enjoyed this game more than Witcher. Well it was close. But KCD is such a good game and the ending. I can’t wait for the next one. Even with the glitches and horrible screen rate at times. This game is a MUST play for all RPG fans.
I got Magdeburg Sword form Faint-Hearted Knight Random encounter, which boast both slash and thrust damage(57/57/3), it stayed at my side ever since. You can also acquire it through Treasure map XXII. Also, spend some time when you're fighting in -Prikstein- Pribslavitz, I was able to loot an entire set of plate armor that is better than Vendor cound provide, and spoils of war for extra Groschen. When I pop them on as soon as I face Runt he was like WTF :) (Looting allies' body still count as stealing, be careful)
The Heavy Warhammer is the most op thing in this game. It anhialates plate wearing foes with no problems. It's basically, stabbing/slashing for show and blunt for dough.
Upgrade strength & get the easier Clinch perk, walk into enemies faces in combat without attacking to trigger a clinch, hammer the attack button to win the clinch, down left, stab, stab then finish with an Up normal swing. I DESTROYED Runt in literally a 10 second fight doing that with a decent Long sword (Not even St. George's)... Was kinda anti-climactic. Lol
I found a duelist longsword in Skalitz if you go back there off one of the bandits it has high 40s slash and piercing and there is a chest there as well that has the best mace I have found with near 50 blunt and some good armor and jewelry to sell
I'm not sure if you chose to do this because of looks, but you are missing an armor slot, the over-plate slot that you can fill with a waffenrock, tauberk or a surcoat. Surcoats are expensive (the best I could find was yellow and 3.2k), but they give defence twice as good as regular gambeson, and can be stacked on top of it. (although it does look glitchy if you do this)
I'm pretty sure the Lords of Leipa armor set provides better protection than Italian plate. It's free too, all you have to do is win the tourney's in Rattay. Not to mention it looks pretty bad ass, ;)
pretty sure that i found a hornskull or something like that helmet that had better stats than Italian helmet , i think it was called Achen helmet (looks like the same one the duel knight wears)
Fun fact: knock out a wayferrer put them on a ledge where you can reach them and punch the shit out of them over & over to sky rocket your strength, warfare, agility, vitality, & unarmed. The moar you know.
You say over and over again that 'Italian' plate armor is the best, when once can plainly see even in the video that Nurembergian armor is the best. Nuremberg is German, not Italian.
this whole video is hardly worth watching unless you know absolutely nothing about the game. In upper levels you can find second to best short and longswords on cumans or bandit leaders etc. you dont need 3 weapons, you need a pointy one, being a sword usually and a mace, besides a bow. If you feel like using a shield use shortsword. Combo's only work usually with the 3 step ones, the 4 is almost impossible to execute, at least with a bit of decent sword. 1. you either 1 or 2 hit kill the guy without armor, 2. the guy is idiotly good at blocking everything or reposte mid combo. Its a shame the game is yet again set up to counterstriking like almost every other rpg with swords. So sad you can't feint an attack and then change your attack to hit and combo faster so you actually do a combo instead of some superslow button mashing with direction wheel that is very twitchy besides the lockon.
What about axes, i cant seem to find anything on axes or battleaxes ? Can you make a video on them ? and in comparison maybe to things like short swords or long sword?
Warhorse helmet has the highest defense stats for head armor I think The down side to wearing that armor is that damn candy-cane colored halo which looks kinda too over the top tbh.
Bruh theres 4 layers of armor. You dont have the out layer equipped. If you check out a tailor you can buy something like my brocade outer jacket. Which gives 4 stab 7 slash and most importantly 11 blunt resistance.
i see u play with controller, is it better than m-kb? I see there was no option to change the controller sensitivity in the option menus- and it was really slow turning at the start of the game. What settings have you put for your controller. Having no official controller support and settings menu on pc is a big over sight
You do not need to have the ancient maps to get the warhorse armour.. the pre order dlc is just the maps that show you where to go but the chests an the items are still in everyone's game.
There's a long sword out there called the Longenous or something like that I found it in a grave and I can run up and poke anyone then run away and they immediately die it's op. The description told me it was the sword of some roman centurion so that was pretty cool.
I just wear the cuman armors cause i like them i never worried about my armor stats since i am pretty good at fighting i don't really end up needing it
Personally I like the executioner's sword. Greatest slash damage of any weapon in the game. You have to steal it, but I'd say it's worth it to have a unique weapon.
Andrew Adams I believe it has 79 slash damage. Don't think it has Pierce though, so thrusting isn't much of an option. The only problem is you can only get it once. That, and it doesn't quite work correctly. Most weapons in the game become visibly bloody. The Executioner's blade doesn't, although it still can be considered bloody by those you speak to SPOILERS Hernann the executioner's in Rattey will give you a job to sabotage a rival executioner. One of the things you can do is blunt the visiting executioner's sword. In the immediate aftermath of the executions, you can return to the visiting executioner's camp, and nick the sword from where you left it originally. I think the camp packs up and leave if you wait too long, so it has to be immediate.
warhorse bascinet have better stat(24),the warhorse warhammer have a pierce attack, you can find this items in tresure chest, thx for your video very interesting
What I am the most confused about is what combos actually do... Do they have some sort of special locational damage, debuff effect, or just straight up damage bonuses on a successful combo?
Have you now so easy combat too? What did you do against this problem? I had to buy back low price weapons for enjoy fight again :( Because then its about 1- max 2 hits fight, and it is boring :(
I’ve still not bought this game, it looks amazing but the bugs make me think it’s probably better to wait a few months when it’s been patched a few times? What’s the replay ability like? Does have new game plus?
I like armor, but i also want to stay a bit light, i don't use a second chainmail layer under the helmet, most helmets allready cover the neck and chest, and i use padded leg armor under the top layer, it saves a bit, now what i wonder is, how did you get the necklace ?
I think it's from one of those ancient treasure chests that comes with pre-order. I mean, chests are there no matter what but not sure about the content. Check his video about finding the chests.
This video in no way shows the best equipment... From what I've gathered the best chest piece is the nuremberg one, the best chausses are the Magdeburg and the best helmet is from the warhorse set. I can't remember which pauldrons are the best, so if anyone could remind me that'd be great. I've been trying to figure out the best pieces of equipment of all types and I was hoping this video would help, guess I was hoping for too much.
St. George longsword, excellent at slash, stab and defense. 72 slash damage, 72 stab damage, and 110 defense. Great sword.
Dronysus where do you buy it ?
As far as I know it can't be bought anywhere.
@@ftbbuck3705 You can find it in a chest above Ledetchko. ESO has made a guide on a way to get the sword. Here is the video link ua-cam.com/video/NYctqnaVyQ8/v-deo.html
It's worth mentioning that you can go to the warhorse locations even if you didn't preorder and still find the gear. Preorder only gives you the maps.
Nowhere in this did you display the best weapons or armor...
CheckSix nah he's right tho, most of those weren't the best of anything

Warfare makes it so your attacks are harder to block
Get stronger and improve Henry's combat skills and you'll never need to resort to cowardly peasant combat again.
Some are actually useful. Like the one that stuns the enemy
I can't use combos in actual Battle for shit, especially the longer ones, it relies in hitting the other first hits and everyone either perfect blocks it, dodges or the combo simply doesn't work.
Combos should work if not using a shield. Shield= Good defence, but weaker offensive and vice versa.
HIGHER WARFARE EQUALS FASTER AND HARDER TO BLOCK STRIKES PLZ READ WHAT YOUR SKILLS DO. BTW BIG LETTERS SO PEOPLE NOTICE THIS
Speed Force good looking man. Was curious what warfare did. Haha. Never read the note on it
Speed Force is right.
Some of them have around 12 defense.
necropasha there's one you can steal in Rattay that is 14 I think
yeah there is a also a travelling merchant you can...help...with directions. He has a great one on him.
I am truly afraid of my morality when i nonchalantly strangle people on the roadside for their clothing.....
I wish those overcoats didnt clip so bad on plate armor. I dont even want to use them, i just wear a nice embroidered hood
Called frokkens or something, I found a sick black one that coats Henry down to the knee along side a black combat jacket, means I can sacrifice full plate when I’m just bumming around pillaging bandits.
I go with full italian set + nurembergian chest, feels like a tank in medievo :D
Stone Block where can I find the chest piece?
Runt got a Aachen chest plate, i got mine from the Ulrich knight on his chest in the tavern
You can just get St. George’s sword which does 72 slash and stab without bonuses. You can find it if you follow the road NE/E from neohof. You’ll find a camp with a chest in it, for me it had no locks.
Better get it before the epilogue, because that camp appears to become occupied by then
Seriously??? Holy shit didn't know you could increase the damage like that...
Just remember to put it on your horse since guards wont like it.
sticky peters yeah that chest literally gives you the best gear in the game.
Those bathmaids sure do raise your charisma.
Don't forget your role playing! I created a Bronn/Oberyn Martell style character so he is quick and uses poisons
You forgot the outer layer gambisons. I found that if you go to the tailor, right next to the armor smith in Rattay, then you can buy the outer armored layer.
he forgot it b/c it's ugly haha i don't wear it in game cause i want to see plate armor
Rizvee Ratul where is that?(the armor I mean)
Actually the best sword is St. George's Sword it's a hybrid sword with 72 dmg on both stab and slash but only 3 on blunt. It can be found at the camp by the road going northeast from Neuhof. The camp is on the left side of the road it's really hard to miss.
Pretty sure they patched that chest out of the game.
@@nicolasthecaged they just locked it
Good guide ! Most of the ppl (by comments) didn't quite understand the point of using different layers I believe, i.e. - the best stats of an armor doesn't mean invariably given the best protection.
-Milanese plate armor is more effective
-Hounskull, slotted helmet is more effective
-You're missing an armor layer. Extra padding outside of plate armor can be worn
Best suits of armor IMO:
House of Zool (plate + houndskull)
Lords of Leipa (plate + houndskull)
Warhorse armor (plate + unique helm)
Light armor (achen brigandine, riveted vambraces, bell kettle, gamberson/doublet); this is best suited for light work, archery, travel etc.
My favorite swords in order:
Queen of Sheeba (amazing all round damage, low durability)
St. George's/St. Micheal's sword (both high damage decent durability longswords)
Herods sword (best slash damage, high durability)
Stinger/robber barons sword/noble sword (very good shortswords)
For axes go for any that have 45+ damage
For maces go for 60+ damage (bailifs mace, ceremonial mace [very heavy])
As far as warhammers ravens beak or "heavy warhammer (45+ damage)
Best weapons so far
Longsword:
St George's Sword
Queen of Sheba's Sword
Herod's Sword
Shortsword:
Noble's Sword (?)
Stinger
Sabre:
Exotic Eastern Blade (?)
Decorated Sabre
Hunting Sword:
Noble's Hunting Sword
Axe:
Metal Plated Battleaxe (First Variant)
Metal Plated Battleaxe (Second Variant)
Mace:
Raven's Beak
Ceremonial Mace
Bow:
Yew Longbow
Not really, if you just wear mail (not plate) you can still dodge as well.
@@duchessskye4072 ik its been years but you can also use kettle helms, aachen or other brigandines, and riveted vambraces. Even with all that the Light Armor perk is still active.
Sorry mate but you missed out the best mace (ceremonial) You forgot to mention:
Stinger can be brought
You CAN wear padded armour on top of plate adding even more blunt defense
It seems the top end brigandines are better than most plate (something a lot of people do not like, and it does seem a little odd)
And riveted seems to be the best leg defence
Edit
Meng is correct enough
The ceremonial stats are 3,3,61,43,17,81 vs 22,61,30,14,55
At nearly a grand less the balifs is the better choice unless you want the charisma boost but some of the swords are better for that
A brigandine is literally leather riveted to a metal plate, so yes, it makes complete sense that it would be more protective.
Hardly
If brigandines were better pray tell why the nightly class did not use them exclusively?
Why would you go to battle in something that cost more, and was less functional?
brigandines were the armour of the lower and middle class, a improved version of the coat of plats and full plate was supirior
Odd I must have mis remembered, I'll have to look again when I get back on tonight, cheers for correcting meng
Brigandines were also far cheaper and faster to manufacture, as well as lighter, compared to a full articulated cuirass. Something like a third of the effort of making a full plate harness is in the chest armour but with a brigandine you can cut nearly a month of labour out of the process.
You covered everything I wanted to know, nice job 👍🏼
Maybe for another video after you can cover the best perks to have early on and some to save for last?
yep, in the works for tomorrow
I’m ocd or just weird idk but I have to put my armor on in order of padding, mail, and then plate if I don’t I’ll take it all off and restart it’s just satisfying seeing Henry effectively get dressed up in armor
You definitely want to win the longsword from the faint hearted knight and use the madgeburg longsword and heavy metal plated axe if your into axes.
There are multiple different monk clothes the darkest of those hide a lot of your armour and lower your visibility pretty far despite waring full armour
Good for stealthy knights pretty bad for your charisma
If your looking for a more mobile build or stealth based, then you can instead choose to have leather based armour on all of the plate slots, they don't offer nearly as much defense, but they barely impact your noise or visibility scores, or as a middle ground the light lamellar
Your videos are legit. You sold me after this second combat tutorial I’ve seen. Keep up these more complicated advanced tutorials. Your basic ones are awesome
Just a quick tip - with perk in repair you can reduce noise to 0, even when wearing full plate. It's probably bugged.
The mail chausses probably have a high blunt defence because it wont let you wear both the padded and mail chausses, as would be realistic and very practical. I like to think the mail chausses in game are already lined with a layer of padding inside.
I hope so if not that would be horribly uncomfortable for the boys
@@dosidicusgigas1376 The Chausses only go up to about halfway up the thigh on the inside and connect at hip level on the outsides. The gambeson, chainmail skirt and plate faulds would protect the squishy bits. The family jewels, as it were. But in the late 15th and early-mid 16th century, they started experimenting with gambeson and chainmail trunks (shorts) and even fully enclosed cod pieces on really high end armors. Those kinds of pieces are most common among knights and Men At Arms that preferred to fight on food as the added bulk may interfere with riding a horse
I keep a halberd on my character at all times. It makes combat a breeze.
Thanks for all the helpful videos!
I like saint George’s longsword because it has a slash and stab of 72 the only thing is it has a slightly high strength requirement
Noah Pratt where do you get that sword at ?
Anthony Connors i.gyazo.com/50f29260b8e04739ccb8054b01ccd763.jpg this is the spot I got it on Xbox
its in a grave pretty strong sword
thanks bud
best sword and really easy to get Lmao
Best sword I have found I got from winning a duel against a knight I met on the road, it's called Magdeburg
Andreas Carstensen it seems like the best balanced longsword but Herod's sword has higher slash and less stab than it
Shit sword
I met the fucker after finishing "Run" and he beat my ass so I tried to choke him and then he almost killed me. I hope I get to meet him again.
Milanese is better than Italian from what I remember (stopped playing after I beat main quest line). A lot of Milanese pieces have ~23 armor
Chomba milan is a city in Italy
milan is in Italy,you lunatic.
Yeah, but there is an italian armor and a milanese one in the game.
have you played the game? lol
yes and he is right. there is a difference between milanese and italian armor in the game. italian is weaker
When you stab on console is is always to the middle, because I am having a hard time figuring out some the combos, thanks in advance.
The combos only work on weak enemies... the only combo you need is "feint-face stab" :D
Iv found some sick stuff including horse shoes, bags of loot, money, artifacts, rings etc, just from robbing graves.
I have 0 noise and 45 conspic when I have all my plate armour on get the perk that takes away the clinking of armour when you repair it yourself
@Pixels what mods would you recommend for an “end-game” state of play?
I got Magdeburg Sword form Faint-Hearted Knight Random encounter, which boast both slash and thrust damage(57/57/3), it stayed at my side ever since.
You can also acquire it through Treasure map XXII.
Also, spend some time when you're fighting in -Prikstein- Pribslavitz, I was able to loot an entire set of plate armor that is better than Vendor cound provide, and spoils of war for extra Groschen.
When I pop them on as soon as I face Runt he was like WTF :)
(Looting allies' body still count as stealing, be careful)
Well done. Nice explanations.
You completely forgot that Combat Jackets can be worn over the plate armor and add even more blunt defense.
Best long sword in my opinion is probably duelist it has very high slash and Stab.
Lol
I just wear full lord of leipa set. This is the best I can find
Best sword is the sword of Saint Charles 72 slashing and piercing. You can find it east of uzutiz. It's in a camp with lord Capone's men.
Heavy warhammer is a beast of a weapon. Most foes go down in 1 to 3 shots.
Especially if they have no helmet. villagers 1 hit.
St Georges longsword found next to the city at the center of the map is the best longsword in the game.
(although it does look glitchy if you do this)
mainly aesthetics but also I only had certain ones that were raising my "conspicuousness" and causing me to get searched more so I opted out of it.
There's one you can steal in Rattay that is the best surcoat has 14 defense
This game is barely out for a couple of days and you have found all this already?
Wow.
fogot to say the weapons also have durability and defence stats, good for defence playstyle (waiting for oponent to strike first)
and nice vid..ty
You missed quite a bit here mate, such as the waffenrocks etc, which also add to the armour ratings
There are 1 or 2 tiers of gear better than Italian armor but that is a good place to start.
thank you this helped me a lot to understand the game.
Can you do a video on the bandit camps you have found? Or areas where you can find groups of them?
Whats even stranger is that theres no halfsworting against full armored opponents...
_J.v.St__._ there is, but its a combo. It should bave been a choice how you want to fight not a combo imho.
Exactly
Not even any specifically italian plate armour in the game other than the helmet, unless he's counting milanese etc, which simply isn't the best.
Best Armor is the "Magdeburg Plate" Set. The best Sword is St. George Sword.
What about axes, i cant seem to find anything on axes or battleaxes ? Can you make a video on them ? and in comparison maybe to things like short swords or long sword?
Well done, great video. Thank you.
Warhorse helmet has the highest defense stats for head armor I think
The down side to wearing that armor is that damn candy-cane colored halo which looks kinda too over the top tbh.
Bruh theres 4 layers of armor. You dont have the out layer equipped. If you check out a tailor you can buy something like my brocade outer jacket. Which gives 4 stab 7 slash and most importantly 11 blunt resistance.
might just be me but i find that stinger still works very well against plate armor
i see u play with controller, is it better than m-kb? I see there was no option to change the controller sensitivity in the option menus- and it was really slow turning at the start of the game. What settings have you put for your controller. Having no official controller support and settings menu on pc is a big over sight
You do not need to have the ancient maps to get the warhorse armour.. the pre order dlc is just the maps that show you where to go but the chests an the items are still in everyone's game.
You can get stinger and other gear from warhorse treasure maps, you just won't get the warhorse gear
There's a long sword out there called the Longenous or something like that I found it in a grave and I can run up and poke anyone then run away and they immediately die it's op.
The description told me it was the sword of some roman centurion so that was pretty cool.
where is it
thanks for making a no bullshit guide. fuck
liked and subbed
Why are you not wearing a waffenrock?
Yeah i hate the waffenrock. I just have a grey scarf on instead.
Everpever1 because maybe he is roleplaying as a noble knight like me or something
Yes very ugly they are
I just wear the cuman armors cause i like them i never worried about my armor stats since i am pretty good at fighting i don't really end up needing it
Personally I like the executioner's sword. Greatest slash damage of any weapon in the game. You have to steal it, but I'd say it's worth it to have a unique weapon.
Mark Casassa I might check that out. What are the stats on it?
Andrew Adams I believe it has 79 slash damage. Don't think it has Pierce though, so thrusting isn't much of an option. The only problem is you can only get it once. That, and it doesn't quite work correctly. Most weapons in the game become visibly bloody. The Executioner's blade doesn't, although it still can be considered bloody by those you speak to
SPOILERS
Hernann the executioner's in Rattey will give you a job to sabotage a rival executioner. One of the things you can do is blunt the visiting executioner's sword. In the immediate aftermath of the executions, you can return to the visiting executioner's camp, and nick the sword from where you left it originally. I think the camp packs up and leave if you wait too long, so it has to be immediate.
I have found that the bailiff's mace has the best blunt damage at 61. I got it from the weapon smith in Rattray.
i found a skalitz aachen brigadine in skalitz with some rings etc for money
warhorse bascinet have better stat(24),the warhorse warhammer have a pierce attack, you can find this items in tresure chest, thx for your video very interesting
Lots enemies wear plate armor so mace is very handy to have
What I am the most confused about is what combos actually do...
Do they have some sort of special locational damage, debuff effect, or just straight up damage bonuses on a successful combo?
They are unblockable if you manage to get the last hit in. Problem is most people just parry so you cannot do them.
Just steal Hans Capon sword during the bathhouse quest.
St George's Sword... best in the game. 72 slash and stab.
Nurembergian armor is better than Italian armor
Have you now so easy combat too? What did you do against this problem? I had to buy back low price weapons for enjoy fight again :( Because then its about 1- max 2 hits fight, and it is boring :(
I’ve still not bought this game, it looks amazing but the bugs make me think it’s probably better to wait a few months when it’s been patched a few times? What’s the replay ability like? Does have new game plus?
It’s amazing, if you haven’t bought it yet, I can highly recommend it.
Do you know where to get any decent sabres? I can only find nicopolis, common and hungarian, though there are apparently a few others.
Augsburg pauldrons and chausses combined with Magdeberg Chest peice is best
This video in no way shows the best equipment... From what I've gathered the best chest piece is the nuremberg one, the best chausses are the Magdeburg and the best helmet is from the warhorse set. I can't remember which pauldrons are the best, so if anyone could remind me that'd be great. I've been trying to figure out the best pieces of equipment of all types and I was hoping this video would help, guess I was hoping for too much.
I know I'm a little late, but the magdeburg pauldrons are the best in the game
