@Dare_To_Game I can't believe I passed on this when it came out, and then I just never got around to it. I grabbed the royal edition for 3.99 and it was worth every cent. Pumped for the second now
There's another way to get Saint George's Sword. During the quest where you go to the bathhouse with Hans Capon, you can steal his Saint George's Sword from the chest he puts his gear into. That's how I got mine during my first playthrough way back when the game first came out.
@@jackjohnson8305 Ahh, what a bitch. Probably for the best, though. I did that quest pretty early and it kinda diminished the fun getting the best longsword so early.
Love the piercer, i "accidentally" got it from the executioner as my first quest after the prologue and it lasted me most of the game until i got st George's sword.
@@josephmeeks3395 durability doesn't matter with swords because they're literally free to repair, defense doesn't matter in general because all defense does is lower the stamina cost of normally blocking attacks, which you're not doing unless you suck, and st. george's does damn near 40% more damage. there is an objectively best longsword that is available from the very beginning, you should not be using anything but st. george's if you're going the longsword route lmao

Culmination of my Henry's stealth military achievements and bravery in confrontations with heavily armored bandits, hence the dark colors but heavy armour. Cloth layer: Black Padded Coif, Dark Saxon Gamb., Tight black Hose, Dark Noble Shoes Padding layer: Noble's mail coif, Dec. My henry did not use much archery but he did hold onto a novice's decorated dagger.
@@Dare_To_Game Honestly the stats on Sir Radzigs sword kinda suck lol, only 45 damage and just about every other longsword in the game was more than that
Just a heads-up that you can also just get Piercer out of the exact same chest in Rattay Upper Castle that Duellist is in. May as well just kill 2 birds with 1 stone lol.
But you found it, so you haven't missed out now! Also, whatever bugs the game had at launch have been mostly ironed out. I've played for 77 hours in my current playthrough, with only one crash and no quest-ending bugs. Just minor character teleport glitches through walls sometimes in really tight spaces.
The hardest fights are the high level bandits that spawn in Skalitz. Runt is also quite strong, and some of the bandits in Vranik are pretty high level as well.
@@Dare_To_Game ok thanks. I was wondering because at this point I have all the best gear and maxed all combat stats so most fights are really easy with some patience
I’d have to argue swapping #2 & #3. I have a lot of kills with the duelist and I’ve recently switched to Longinus’ Sword, I think LS is much more combat effective. Great video tho🎉
I've reconsidered the importance of durability in relation to longswords. I find that i only use longswords in one on one duels, or against lightly armored opponents, and so it factors in far less than i had initially believed.
You know it's funny I've never actually looked up the durability or the defense of the swords I always just look at the stab and Slash stats. There's another way you can get St Michael's sword. And that is from Hans capon himself. During the bathhouse mission all his belongings are in that chest in the bath house. When he tells you to go get the wine, you can go into the chest and grab all of this stuff including the sword I'd like to add the Executioner sword as an honorable mention . Not THE executioner. But that scab they bring in to execute those three men. It doesn't have a great stab but has the highest slash start in the game at 79 almost every slash causes the opponent to bleed and it is the rarest sword in the game if you don't count the Queen of Sheba sword which technically is harder to get since you have to find all the pieces
I’ve been sitting on the Herod sword for like a week maybe week and half in game and the item is still hot not gonna use it I’m too scared to lose it (ik there’s saves but still)
I just go to the front door of the rattay shop, wait until night with the door open, and just watch the owner walk back up too the second floor, go in and steal whatever I want before he get's into bed. The moment he get's into bed all items in there despawn and get put into a very hard chest. Same thing with pretty much all stores I believe.. Then I just put it in my chest at the mill and wait until the stolen tag is gone
@@Flavius-Timasius Yes, it's the absolute easiest way if you have contemplative Perk as you can just wait inf amount of time without getting tired or hungry and get everything right at the start.
