There is something emotionally deep within this song. I literally choke up when I hear it sometimes. It's like I'm hearing something beyond what I'm actually hearing. If it was relevant when it was written in the 80s, it has come around to new relevancy or maybe just closer to a manifestation of its relevancy. Somebody out there knows what I'm saying. Just plain heavy lyrics and music.

How little did we know that a few short years later, the words we listened to back then would have so much meaning. Normal is long gone, guys. I was born in the 80’s, grew up in them, and was raised by two military men. My grandpa who served 2 wars and dad 1. I would often be told repeatedly the very same concepts in this song, plus many many more some people would deem conspiracies so I’ll save that. I am just grateful everyday that they shared their tactical, fierce, god loving, country fighting DNA with me, because it has been more useful these days than ever!

The amount of talent that came out of that British prog rock group Genesis is absolutely incredible...From 1985 to 1987, Genesis, Phil Collins, Mike and the Mechanics and Peter Gabriel all individually dominated the charts in many countries in some way, shape or form. Absolutely stunning. And this song in particular is especially haunting and dark, I love it! I was too young when it came out, but listening to it again now and watching the video makes me go like "wow"... this is creepy, really dark stuff. Frequently still played on the radio here in Germany.

That decade not only had some of the most epic music; it had MTV AS Music Television, legwarmers, and in my opinion the very best Saturday Morning cartoons! I lost my father in 86 i was 9, this song and its a kind of magic (i wasnt aware of highlander at the time) would send me into tears it still brings feelings of deep emotion within the soul. at the time i was also quite fixated by its the final countdown but didnt really know why it felt special. Living years touched my heart too. Since then i found many artists pouring out the truth like the american group Sly fox lets go all the way, powerful anthems that today are much needed. Notice now how many groups had videos depicting the elites and their costume parties like KC sunshine band give it up, laura branigan self control many many people knew.
A lot of the singers from the 80's and 90's knew. They all saw it coming to. Both my parents and grandparents taught me and my brothers that it's coming. My Grandpa warned that it would happen in my generation and that it was the generation from the 80's and 90's to train our children and prepare them for what is to come. God in Heaven help us all.
