I would have agreed with you in the 90's and early 2000's. I liked this music when it came out, but hated it after the 90's got started. A long with hairband rock. But, after enough time passed, the good music from this era is resurfacing, given new life by us as adults and a younger generation who doesn't have a sound of their own.

Dan Hartman's appearance on "Soul Train" singing this song rocked the house that episode. Check it out on UA-cam. Most of the Black kids hearing his voice on the radio thought his sound was coming from a brother. They were not mistaken. He just happened to be a white brother. RIP My Brother. Your soulful voice and song writing for countless R&B artists throughout the world will live on with us . . FOREVER.

This is why shows like radwood are celebrated across the country with 80s to 90's cars because they where the best ones. That's why us enthusiast will buy them. Looking at the car market now it's stupid suvs and crossover. We are getting less fun cars. Ferrari making a suv was stupid. They should have done a modern version of what the f40 was with a gated manual transmission.

I had two professors delete major class exams where we all had to retake them. This was around 2011. I guess it was probably a pain in the butt to have to write papers back in the 80's. Like you must be super familiar with the Dewey Decimal System. Ha ha! You probably weren't remotely thinking of the actual assignments as you wrote out your awesome memory in this comment. Meanwhile, I think I've got to Google 80's corduroy brown pants.

I’m a 30 something that grew up listening to this music. Oddly enough, I developed a deeper appreciation and love for 80’s music when I started working at 16 at a Kmart. We had several loops that would play during the day and this song always came on around close. I’d walk around doing go-backs and I’d find a quiet aisle or corner whenever this song came on and I’d just listen. I’d dream about finding someone who could feel this way about me. It took me away to a magical place that was the polar opposite from my reality. I was being abused by my parents at the time and music was the only escape I had. I was denied my childhood and teen years. I’d sit there and let the song get embedded in my mind and dream about floating across a dance floor with the man of my dreams. (They took my prom too.) I worked at Kmart for a number of years. When I started dating, I dreamed of the guy I was dating at the time. He was magic. He was fire. Maybe he dreamed about me. I married that guy and now...this song just hits different. It reminds me of a time when everything was carefree and all I worried about was when I’d see him again.

Everybody was told to bring a disco record, and they'll get a discount admission. The records were gathered and set fire to pyrotechnics.
