So much value added Sam. A lot of people definitely do not understand the importance and value of time, until their whole life has passed and they spent 3 years of their life, cooking or something!
I just moved from pa to Cali and I know what you mean. It’s like 3 weeks of not having your tools and your workplace setup (in my case, a music studio). And all the stuff we have. Like cars lol. Best of luck in your move. The treadmill desk added so much productivity to my life
Not that anybody needs to give you any advice because your the man! So with much respect. Try intermittent fasting eating only once or two times per day. If done correctly its healthier and you have more energy throughout the day. It’s been an amazing transformation for myself going on two years. It’s actually very sustainable and I spend less on food. I really only think about eating one time a day at dinner. Great new place Sam and this is the best advice because it’s so little nobody notices what it does to them.
Training your body to this IF routine will itself take weeks. Stomach Fever is guaranteed in transition phase. People working all day will surely get bad hungry.

Same when I moved to Miami last year. I thought I could be thrown in any environment and own it just as much, only to realize a big part of my success was du to the environment I previously took years to set up. Gold advice here man.
I'm an entrepreneur my self and you hit it real hard at the end when you talk about having no constraints and too much "free" time. I definitely need to work on this! Great video and content man 👍
I agree with this video 100%. For a period of time I was a digital nomad and found my productivity levels to be abysmal. Needing to regularly find new accomodation, ID good places to eat, find good places to work etc was killing my life. I felt like a basic human needing to re-invent the wheel every few months. Right now what's working really well for me is intermittent fasting (one less meal to think about) and having two really simple meals each day which take about 5 mins to prepare and food which is tasty and hits my macronutrients. I love the idea of doing the '100 units of time' activity once a month to get regular insight into how I'm using my time. Great video Sam.
Hi Tom yeah for sure. For lunch I have two poached eggs (I heat each egg in the microwave for a minute), a bowl of broccoli with olive oil and an avocado. Add rock salt for extra flavour. For dinner - it's a little unconventional and is more like a breakfast but I really look forward to it at the end of each day. Its 2 cups of oats, with a handful of blueberries and a tablespoon of cocoa. I whack it into the microwave for 2 mins then it's done. I then add some greek yoghurt and a drizzle of maple syrup. I estimate that eating these two meals give me at least an hour extra of freedom each day - highly recommended. I'm not sure what your physical goals are - they may change the quantities you need to eat. I'm in 'cutting' mode which reduces the amount I need to eat.
@@DF430 Damn - I love especially the dinner meal and I'm addicted to it now! But I use melted dark chocolate. :) thank you so much - you could do videos on 5 minute healthy meals hacks.

Alex Becker sent me. Such valuable information, Mr. Ovens. I went into a bit of a frenzy, pausing your video here and there and going through my kitchen, bathroom, linen closet, 'fridge and so on and purging items that take up my time and provide me with no real value. Food has been a tough thing for me to systemize; although I am not quite to the place of hiring my own chef, I do plan to have groceries delivered and things like toilet paper automatically delivered on a schedule, saving me time and enhancing my productivity. Thanks so much for sharing your insights.
Thanks, Sam I actually just delete all the social media apps as well as started meal prepping and really getting a hold of my day because I have too much time on my hands to be stuck where I am at now thank you. Hope to meet you one day.
Alex Becker Sent me here... I definitely see why I am losing some productivity, and focus after watching this video thank you Sam for sharing your personal experience of death of a thousand cuts, and tips to get back on track.
This is one of the best UA-cam videos I have ever watched. My only question is what do you do if you don't have the finances to hire a chef? Meal prep, the half life seems still to low for that imo, only 5 -7 days.
My environment is toxic, mainly due to my partner who has devolved into pre-dementia. It's actually death by a thousand stabs. We had elected to move in together (September 21) to improve productivity because he cannot drive. It's been a total nightmare. Now, my wife, who has been a total trooper, has been looking for a new residence for us. We will be giving up the partnership as Bob's dementia is accelerating (as a point of dark humor, I am already in an Accelerator program -5.0); it's awful. A total change of environment is necessary: housing, partnership, office, etc.; I have to work alone, which I'm really good at especially since I will beginning Accelerator immediately following my knee replacement January 2. Thank you for the video which clearly supports and identifies with my dilemma I had my best income year in 2017 with a net income of $1.9 Million. I have really screwed up.

Another way to look at it. Systems thinking, Theory of Constraints and Lean Systems or Lean Processing. Delete/Eliminate, Integrate, Outsource/Delegate, Automate.
Even before you started on food I sensed where you were going. I am sitting here preparing breakfast and you had me thinking about all those times that I have no idea where my coffee mug is, then I have to look for a spoon, then "..where the hell is the sugar?..", and "oh I need to fill up the kettle" and " do I have any bread?..," etc, So many times during the week I repeat this same clumsy process without even thinking about how unnecessarily messy and time consuming I make it. I just finished my first year in college as a mature student and, after many years of working and taking pride in 'apparently' being a hard worker, I realized through college that it's way too easy for me to be un-productive because of putting my energies into an unorganized strategy or even worse, the wrong strategy.

Just getting back into the groove of creating my business, and every pitfall and solution that u mentioned is what I have been experiencing, ....so moving forward to productive days, thanks for your insights
Some how, I've converted my lady friend into my personal chef and house cleaner. Don't ask me how and I'm still gonna look into my future chef, just in case she get feed up with my movements. Thanks for that food for thought Sir.
Really interesting video. You made me realize that I should be planning my meals in a much better way. Right now, I'm intermittent fasting during the week (I am an elementary teacher and I teach in French), so I eat once a day. I started doing that as an experiment, but it turned out to be like the best thing ever! However, when the end of the day come, this is where I sometimes make bad food choice. I'm so tired with all the decisions I had to make during the day that I end up neglecting my health and that is not acceptable. You made me realized that I should plan all my meals for the week (even the month) and stick to it. Thanks!
Thanks for this Sam, I am applying these principles now. As a business owner I struggle with time management and I am now tracking where my time is going.
Hello Sam, You are awesome. I paid $2K to get the same information :). Key lessons: It's not the big distractions, but small little ones which make you unproductive. Value time more than money. Make decisions for once those that are repetitive and then you'll be lot more productive.
One of the things I used to solve this problem on a budget was using PlateJoy. It uses 100 data points to build a menu, grocery list, and it was only $75 for a year. I remove all that decision fatigue on planning, deciding every meal and building a grocery list. I even throw it on my Google calendar, so it pops up on my phone what I am eating for that meal and have the whole week planned out with a weekly printout posted on the fridge. Then, I hop into the kitchen, follow that recipe, don't waste food, eat good food, lose weight and keep focusing on other things. I have saved at least 3-4 hours a week by doing this. It's been great!
Now, I'm recognising those small 1000 cuts in my life! Before I saw obvious issues and obstacles and for the rest I didn't care, I thought OK, it's not a big deal. But together all those small cuts are counted for a really big danger. Thank you, Sam!
He mentions time a bunch, but the more specific loss he refers to is his attention, focus, and work momentum. Which is involved in time, but specificity really hammers the point down.
I listened to this while on a focus pill 💊 I think you got something here. Funny I can tell you like software development from how you say ‘ship a product’ and full stack. This is all true. Thanks Sam.
the takeaway 0:00 - 17:00 - work environment is critical (internet speed, chargers in every room) - eating + commuting takes time - multitasking + minor interruptions kill momentum - track your time. you will be shocked. 10:45 -11:30 = useful method - social media = waste of time
Hello Mr. Owens. I'm just a man looking into starting my own e-commerce website. I am watching some UA-cam videos in an effort to educate myself on possible pitfalls and productivity "killers". Thank you for reminding me that it all starts with ME!
Another great video Sam, I was listening to it while preparing my food to store for the next few days - to save time. I am moving from Mexico back to NZ next week in the short term to be able to focus on my business from my mothers garage, to have fewer distractions ie death by Mexican cuts lol eg dealing with the language issue takes up so much of my time and wastes energy every day. I was very productive in NZ three years back, then I moved to San José del Cabo in Mexico for the good life, the first issue was the internet speed, then the heat, and nosy Mexican culture which affected my sleep. I found it hard to find a good gym, basically, everything slowed down business wise. I moved to Guadalajara a larger city to try to get better Internet and get with my first physical product made and exported ie a white powder from Mexico, but it was stopped at the border by the FDA (it was a natural stevia product), funny story ...the drama's and frustrations continued for 2 more years in the physical product Amazon Private label space ...anyway thanks again, really enjoying the videos and I am taking action ie back to simple NZ life, buy your course and get focused.
Wow! *Thank you!* I wish I had the ability to explain this to people who feel it's okay to interrupt me for the stupidest things! They can't see that even if it's a 30 second interruption, I may lose an hour or more of "in the zone" work. No one *gets it!*
This is fantastic. It is easy to get caught in the net of the vast amount of content. Cardone, Lopez, Vaynerchuck (like your ad) and many other sub-producers that have tidbits of gold in their content. Sifting through the advice and trying to decide what is good and what is trash is a real effort in itself. I have decided to cut that out of my life, and study you and your methods instead. Thank you for this amazing content. It is excellent.
Hey Sam, I could not agree with you more. In the office I work with 2 x 27 inch monitors side by side, wireless full keyboard and wireless mouse all connected to me 15inch MB Pro. At home I have a 17inch monitor over the top of my 15inch MB Pro and the desk is slightly higher and a rough surface. I am super productive at work and hate working at home. It's the little things, desk is not right, monitors are different etc. So I am thinking of replicating my office office with my home office - the $700 or $800 I will spend will pay its self back in a day or two..I do have a charger in both places though. Also agree with costs etc, I call it "The Docket Affect" . You go to Woolies or Coles to get a few things and $67.76 later you wonder how did that happen...thanks for lots of great content!!
Hi Sam! I love this video. I need to revamp my routine. Thanks, this video has helped me a lot. Right now I'm working on my copyright and getting ready to invest money on FB ads. I'm really digging inside my niches fractal patterns to write the best ads I can.
Sam thank you so much for the well-timed information and transparency. Just what I needed as I Work to get my business lifted up off the ground. Focused effort and doing less is what I need and will be developing for my life in this upcoming new year or better yet tomorrow as I give it some thought this evening .
Great value of a lesson! Great job. After thinking about this video, you starting to fit the peaces and saw that all these tips it's to obvious. Too obvious that anyone does not see in a whole lifetime. Thanks Alex and Sam!
That would be so awesome to have you on for a 30 minute interview on my channel! I've read many productivity books and really love this content. Well done Sam!
Cynchronia that’s all it takes man! Would be sweet to have him on, but I will do my best to replicate his ideas and put my own twist on them to give my viewers a unique experience 😎
Decision fatigue I started eating pre-made foods like Soylent and that helped alot, instead of trying to decide what to have for breakfast, I know what it is already and it makes getting through the morning so much easier! Everything else you mentioned in the video helped a ton and gives me a new way to apply this to stuff beyond food.
Thanks Sam! Really improves upon my perspective and direction. I was trying to decide between subcontracting, SEO and content creation for social channels and this made me decide that I need to just do SEO for now, subcontracting would only be to outsource my content creation but if I just focus on SEO perhaps I won't need to outsource content stuff down the track and master content and SEO. Then I don't need to subcontract either; one thing at a time, narrow my focus.

Some how, I've converted my lady friend into my personal chef and house cleaner. Don't ask me how and I'm still gonna look into my future chef, just in case she get feed up with my movements.
Thanks for that food for thought Sir.
The quality of your content is really brilliant, thanks for the free education and insights
Keeping a journal, and understanding your ruotine & goals helps a lot.
Thanks Justin just signed up for it. Thanks for the comment
Thanks Sam.
the takeaway 0:00 - 17:00
- work environment is critical (internet speed, chargers in every room)
- eating + commuting takes time
- multitasking + minor interruptions kill momentum
- track your time. you will be shocked. 10:45 -11:30 = useful method
- social media = waste of time
No one give advice like this for free, thank you very mach Sam

Goes to hire chef.
Looks at bank account.
Welp guess here goes my time.
Hello Mr. Owens. I'm just a man looking into starting my own e-commerce website. I am watching some UA-cam videos in an effort to educate myself on possible pitfalls and productivity "killers". Thank you for reminding me that it all starts with ME!
Thank you, very much it helped a lot. It's not often that people actually give useful content on youtube.
Top of my Browse page because of Alex Beckers new philosophical entrepreneur approach 😳 I think I enjoy it?
Without a shadow of doubt, if ever Sam writes a book on his philosophy, ideas, strategy, mindset, etc... i can guarantee that i'll be buying it.
Thank you Sam. I have been watching you for a few months.
*Came here from Alex Becker's video!*
Addition by subtraction.
Elon has a quote where he says something like:
“The best part is no part, the best process is no process”
Hi Sam! I love this video. I need to revamp my routine. Thanks, this video has helped me a lot. Right now I'm working on my copyright and getting ready to invest money on FB ads. I'm really digging inside my niches fractal patterns to write the best ads I can.
Alex brought me to this Video too but I've always been a follower of Sam. Great content
Sam thank you so much for the well-timed information and transparency. Just what I needed as I Work to get my business lifted up off the ground. Focused effort and doing less is what I need and will be developing for my life in this upcoming new year or better yet tomorrow as I give it some thought this evening
.
Thanks Sam, I needed this reminder for the new years. Working on giving myself scheduled constraints and a better environment to work in. Cheers!
Great value of a lesson! Great job. After thinking about this video, you starting to fit the peaces and saw that all these tips it's to obvious. Too obvious that anyone does not see in a whole lifetime. Thanks Alex and Sam!
I have been thinking about this recently. Great to see others are too. Thank you!
Well, this video just turned my life upside down for the next week or so it will take to implement it! Thank you sir!
Sam this is world class advice!
Super useful Sam. Regretting not discovering you earlier.
Excellent advice. I'm certainly "off the rails" and need to work on it now. Thanks, Sam. (FYI, Alex Becker brought me here.)
Thank you for your wise council.
I agree. A structured use of time keeps a person on the "rails" towards success.
Awesome stuff bro, this was unique and different. Love your content bro, keep up the good work!
Hell of a video Sam. As usual.
That would be so awesome to have you on for a 30 minute interview on my channel! I've read many productivity books and really love this content. Well done Sam!
I'd watch that!!!
Just repeat and do exactly what he said. Embody him, and then deliver the same message to your audience with real life examples.
Cynchronia that’s all it takes man! Would be sweet to have him on, but I will do my best to replicate his ideas and put my own twist on them to give my viewers a unique experience 😎
Decision fatigue
I started eating pre-made foods like Soylent and that helped alot, instead of trying to decide what to have for breakfast, I know what it is already and it makes getting through the morning so much easier!
Everything else you mentioned in the video helped a ton and gives me a new way to apply this to stuff beyond food.
This is so beautiful. Thank you Mr. Ovens
Great video, Sam.. thanks for helping us heal those cuts for good, matey.
Another great content Sam!! Very much appreciated.
Thanks for the incredible video, Sam :)
Sam, thank you for all your videos and the knowledge you share with us. Each content is so valuable.
All the best :)
Hi Sam, this is a very insightful video. Thank you
