    Summary:
    1. sit for 5-20 mins and focus on your breath.
2.If you get distracted by a random thought, bring your focus back on your breath.
3.Doing this consistently will increase your attention period and you'll learn to get in the zone.

It's basically like weight training for your mind.
The key is to be thankful when you realize, you were distracted.
(Instead of being angry with oneself)

i'm blown away with the wisdom you have Sam! I have been working on myself for 20 years and have spent hundreds of thousands on courses and coaching plus traveling to watch seminars. I have bought your program and just finished week two and I'm totally hooked.. I run a 300 million dollar business with 320 employees and now i can see a billion plus. I can see why you have dominated your space and i wanted to commend you on a job well done! Looking forward in learning and i have definitely put all other teachers to the side and focusing on your teachings! Be well! And thanks !

I’ve been meditating for a bit more than a year now so I’m already sold on how beneficial it is. I thought this video would just reaffirm my thoughts on meditation, but I didn’t expect that it would be super helpful too! Thank you for the helpful tips and insights!
One benefit I found that I don’t think you mentioned was that I’m more in the moment, I find myself anticipating the future less, so I don’t feel like time just passes by without me noticing, I actually feel like I get to experience the full day. I know that’s not really business related but I find it to be a great benefit!

Sam, I've been meditating for over 3 years now and everything you say in this video is absolutely true. Meditation is the key to success and happiness. To your point of avoiding thoughts.. actually you should do the opposite and take time to consciously process your thoughts, basically hear what your mind wants to tell you and believe you will be amazed that the best ideas and answers come from that moment. I also meditate to attract, imagine and plan big things to my life. Thanks for this great video.

I really like that you just made me meditate for 20 mins. It is that simplicity of meditation which makes it in the same sense so hard. Waiting for the 20 mins to end. Your body starts making stuff up to distract you from your goal like wanting you to scratch your nose. I did Headspace for 2 months and then didn't use it anymore. I believe meditation needs to be with yourself, no coach, no app. I will do the 20 min meditation with no bs app from now. Great Video as always Sam!

Sam's technique is basically Shikantaza ('just sitting') in Zen. Most traditions have something like that. For me, I found my mind is so crazed that counting down from a number is easier. Then when you get to 0 you are done. When the breath starts to feel really good try to let it move through the whole body (as crazy as that sounds). See the book, "Keeping the Breath In Mind" by Ajahn Lee

Day 2: Slight(slight) improvement. Still horrible.

    • @Nani-gr7xi
      @Nani-gr7xi 3 роки тому

      Day 3: *Ultimately a failure*.
I was struggling more than on day 1 for the first half. Then someone called me and I didn't try to start over after.
Day 4: *Huge improvement*. Part of my problem was that my posture was off. Now that I didn't have to think about backaches it was way easier all of the sudden.
Tip: Sit with your hamstrings on the chair and notice how your back naturally wants to stay straight that way. I just did it with a slight tilt so that my palms rested on my knees.
I am noticing that my mind tries to trick me into thinking about "important matters" such as unsolved problems. I easily get caught on to those and it takes me way too much time to react and bring my mind back. Once I bring my mind back then I start thinking "good job, at least you caught it" and realize I have been tricked yet again.
One of the things that pops the most is what I am going to write about in this report in the comment section. For that reason, I won't be doing any more daily updates. I will however comment if I feel as though I have something to say.
On the off chance that you read this: Thank you, Sam, once again.

  • @paulengineer2548
    @paulengineer2548 4 роки тому

Great video, I applied it right away and feel different :)
By practicing meditation I improve my focus. I continually get better at catching myself whenever I get distracted and it helps me to improve my ability to correct myself to stay on course. The continous practice makes the difference.
The outcome of mediation is focus, clean thinking, concentration & self control.
Business is about finding a niche, finding a problem the participants of the niche share, finding a solution to the problem and selling the solution to these people, while being as efficient as possible and doing it at the largest scale possible. To do that, I have to be disciplined, think clearly, be able to focus on things and getting them done and I have to be relentless on policing my mind and myself from distraction.
If I do not meditate, I will start my day with an intent, get distracted and loose the entire day as a result.
The byproduct of mediation helps my money-making endeavor by working as a force multiplier.
Meditation helps me get into the zone. Other components to achieving high levels of focus are the avoidance of alcoholic beverages & sugar while putting an emphasis on staying hydrated & sticking to a consistent sleep schedule.

I can see why some people don't take action on information that's put out there. Most people who watch videos like this may not even take action like clicking the like or commenting. So when something as informative like this comes out, they lack the habit to take action there after.
I'll be honest as well! I've been very guilty of this for a very long time which is why I'm taking the time to write and like.

Great content Sam, love the video. I´ve been lacking something for a long time. Something that would keep me focused that I could figure out what it is. Now I know, that the only gap in my routine is the meditation. Thanks a lot for what you do, mate!

seriously the greatest videos. Sam, please never stop taking drugs. If you release a course on how to stop excessive eyes blinking, I'm in it.

Really liked the part where meditation is about catching the wandering mind, and this helps you practically in business by helping you capture your wandering mind and bringing it back into the zone.Reminds me of a verse "the intelligence of those who are irresolute is many-branched."

Yes, meditation is great for focus, which is crucial in today world full of distractions. But I also noticed something different, it gives you some sort of a buffer for emotions and thoughts and prevent them from taking control over you.
To do this I meditate regulary not just by focusing on my breath but also by focusing on every sensation in my body. I don't stop my thoughts, emotions but just let them be, noticed them but don't try to stop them, just let them come and go.

So glad you didn't link meditation to any religion, chanting and the like. That's one reason I've stayed away from it in the past. Now I can see myself trying it out. About eliminating sugar, does that include fruit?

This is very true about concentration. I have experienced the same concentration problems very often. I will start to experiment with meditation. Thank you for your effort! Great piece of advice!

another good way to get into the zone is through art, such as painting. even if you suck at art, give it a try. so will improve as you go and being creative is great for the brain.
ambient music without words or jazz is great as well. relaxing music in the background to keep part of your mind occupied and happy so u can focus.

Really helpful video. Been meditating an average of 40 minutes a week - with an app to get me started. Now I want to take it a step higher. Heading for the Zone.
