      Meditation and identifying thought loops, categorizing a thought loop as a thought loop, and it goes away. But what helped me most from this video is definitely GOAL.

    #8 helped me the most because it's something that I feel like I was on the path to realizing, but hearing it stated explicitly helped me skip all the hours of introspection.
    I think the biggest challenge I'm facing though is different than most other people's. I'm trying to figure out how to explain my visions of the future to other people when I've been keeping it to myself all my life. The hard part is finding the right questions to ask myself about the problem.

    Hi Sam, I love your videos but I am not sure if I agree with the message of your last video. I am sure you have read "So good they can't ignore you" by Cal Newport. And while your message was "Do what you love" and "Follow your passion" his message is "You do not have to follow your passion, become very good at one thing and it will turn into your passion". This advice is actually the total opposite of yours and in my opinion this advice is better because often the current passions of unsuccesful people are not really the basis for a great business or they do not even have a real passion. Would like to hear your comments on this.
    However, thanks for making so many great videos on youtube.

    • @NigeloWalker
      @NigeloWalker 5 років тому +4

      Yes Sam Can you please do a video response to this comment? Cal Newport is an author I love and I am having conflicts regarding building "Career Capital" to love what you do versus "following a passion". This has been a huge problem for me as I can't decide to continue in my career in finance versus following my passion of health, fitness & life coaching.

    • @DannyMallinder
      @DannyMallinder 5 років тому +3

      @@NigeloWalker why can you not do both ie bring them both together and have a theme to your overall mission?

    • @cheenouyang4695
      @cheenouyang4695 5 років тому +16

      You misunderstood his message. Sam didn't say "follow your passion".
      He said to identify what you're passionate in -- meaning the topics, subjects, books, and things that you like.
      Then to identify the interest "groups" within that passion.
      For example, if you like to listen to music (passion or interest), you can identify different groups of people such as music composers, singer, audio engineers, producers, studio owners, ect..
      Then you "talk" to these groups of people and find out what they want or what their problem is.
      Once you know their problem, you will have your "niche" selected and your business idea.
      Sam will never tell you to follow your passion. He wants you to solve a specific problem for a specific market.

    • @EntrepreneurAMG

      People have trouble finding what they are passionate about. This makes it tough, finding the bridge that takes them to leveraging it for the purpose of their perceived daily successes. People that have not yet found something to become great at so that they can discover passion in unexpected places also have the EXACT same challenge. In the end it is about becoming good at something that then gives you momentum velocity which in time, produces tremendous results. The right darts used on the right dart board. Felt tip darts on a wooden board do not get it done. The act of aiming and throwing is not enough.

    Sam, your content has been life-changing for me. One thing that really helped me was the 'scientific method' which you teach in Consulting Accelerator as well. Aside from business, this helped me overcome a chronic injury that I dealt with for years...
    I had a sports related neck injury and it eventually got so bad that I couldn't even sit at my computer chair for an hour.
    When things looked hopeless, I just kept changing one variable. Nothing worked at first, but as long as I had one thing I hadn't tried, I stayed hopeful. Eventually I sniped the underlying cause and learned an extremely valuable life lesson that I'll have with me forever.
    As for a QUESTION: I'd love to know what your favourite books are!
    I do the same thing with my book collection. I keep a stack of my 10 favourite and every night I go and open to a random page and read a highlight or two. The speed at which this has helped me learn is borderline superhuman.

    Sam! Hi I am from the CA. Sam I don’t know if I should tell you even what that program did to me!
    I once written you in the messenger. Told you about the University and what that did to me, and you are the teacher who brought me back to my life! Witch I never had! Because I had a depression of 30 years!!!
    And know I am running my own business! I am happy and grateful all the time. And I live my dream life.
    I am chilling all day on the beach. Seeing friends non stop. And doing my business the way I want! It fits me perfectly, because I manage it to be that way.
    I am writing you this in front of all others so that it is documented...
    You helped me fix my brain. I am new now!
    I watched only the first two weeks!!!!!!!!!
    This in the time of one year I guess, you can look it up...
    You are my teacher!
    And I am yours.
    There is only one thing I want you to know or be. Stay as neutral as you are, but stay forever as part of the good (I know I don’t need to say this to you, because you know...)

    Thank you Sam. I am watching all of your videos day after day in a moment in which I am deciding about my future, building a business, getting my life on track. Everything you say to me is putting me on a mindset that I would have never been able to get without your insights, without your clear thinking, without your voice every day telling me that it's all a big equation and I am responsible to control the variables (and the constants). Thank you Sam, I don't know if you ever read this, but you are making a difference in my life, and I only read dumb comments down this video, that doesn't give justice to the huge amount of value you are actually creating. Also, you make me smile a lot. That line about the cascade of shitness in the society was just amazing :)
    You know I would love to ask you something. What if you have 2 goals and the environment they require for them to be accomplished is different? What if I want to build a business, so I choose to move to New York (where I am), but then I also want to build a family and I suddenly realize that New York will never be the right environment to have a healthy and stable relationship? What if the 2 main goals you have in life requires 2 different environments? How do you solve this shit?

      I think you take time and where you are in your life and then decide what makes sense now. Raising a family first when you are not accomplished will make you regret it while building a business first and then family will make you a better parent

    First of all, I love you for who you are.
    The title is true.
    Secondly, this is my favorite video of yours so far because it illustrates the pathway to clarity of perception.
    Not to mention that your video publishing date corresponds to a planetary transit that in Astrology is said to provide deep insight and clarity after a long period of "retrograde" or chaotic energy.
    Excited to see more about Mindset.
    The End.

    How do you create a masterplan of your goals?
    I realized in my life, that I have conflicting goals in different areas. Let's assume there are four main categories: Health, Wealth, Love and Happiness. What if your health goal is in conflict with your wealth goal? How do you find a middle ground?

    Awesome stuff once again Sam...
    I think something really practical would be to get a breakdown of how you approach the creative / problem solving process as it relates to building something (e.g an info product or a service offering).
    Do you use a design thinking approach, what type of abstractions do you use, where do you draw on knowledge from, etc?
