    "They're listening to 50 different people on 19 different podcasts, 15 different email lists, they're 2 pages in on 19 books, they got another 6 coming from Amazon, they're in 6 courses, they've got 4 businesses and thinking about starting 9 more"
    Did anyone else honestly laugh out loud at this part? 😂😂😂

    1. Define Objective
    2. Take the best possible actions to achieve an objective (Don't become the jack of all trade - become the master of one thing - ELIMINATE ALL DISTRACTION)
    3. It is all about implementation!!!
    -Thank you. Mr. Ovens. Your work is truly changing my life. Hope to see you soon in person -

      Sean Jung I would like to add to 2. Model and copy the actions of other people who’ve achieved what you want to achieve

    • @AshaoFreeSky
      @AshaoFreeSky 4 роки тому +5

      Step 1: Define the objective
      Step 2: Define the problem
      * What’s in the way of success?
      * Spend most of your time clearly defining the problem
      * (Einstein said if given an hour to solve a problem, he’d spend 55 mins. defining the problem and 5 solving it)
      Step 3: Model people who’ve already achieved what you want
      Step 4: Eliminate all distractions and execute
      * To achieve focus, you must eliminate distractions

  • @antwuntrademark
    @antwuntrademark 10 місяців тому +4

    *My Summary:*
    1.) Define what you want
    2.) Choose the best possible action
    3.) Declutter your mind and life so you can FOCUS
    (get rid of smart phones, social media, and alcohol)
    All business is soliving problems for other people. Find a niche audience. Speak to them to learn what they want and need. This gives you clarity on how to provide for these people.
    "If I had one hour to solve a problem, I'd spend 55 minutes defining it and 5 minutes solving." - Albert Einstein

    Well done Sam & thank you. Much of what you've said in this video reminds of the following:
    “All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone.”
    ― Blaise Pascal, Pensées

  • @connormangus8424
    @connormangus8424 5 років тому +13

    My take on this great information. Thanks Sam, simple but profound. Helped pull me out of chaos
    Step 0: Good prerequisite, find out what you want
    • what do you value? Why?
    • what leads you to fulfillment? Why?
    • what is your mission? Why?
    Step 1. Define the problem
    • what are you trying to do?
    • what's stopping you from doing it?
    • why are you trying to do it?
    Step 2. Evaluate the validity of the problem
    • what do you value that will be satisfied by doing the thing you're trying to do?
    • what are the reasons for doing this thing?
    • what will solving this problem do for you?
    • how will solving this problem further your mission and actualization?
    Step 3. Solve the problem
    • what is the best possible action to take to solve that problem?
    • who has solved that problem and may have the answers?
    • how can you make this solution feasible in your circumstances/environment?
    Tips:
    • set the standards low to begin with to get started, then raise them as you build confidence. Don't expect much from yourself in the beginning when solving a hard problem, your solution or execution of it may be misguided. Expecting success and getting failure is personally one of my downfalls and can lead to poor self esteem. As you try things, evaluate the actions/solutions with the highest return on time/energy input, and do more of those things until the problem is solved.
    • do what you can to be in flow states while doing the work. Challenge yourself but don't overwhelm yourself. Steer yourself to be completely free from inner conflict in the perceived validity of carrying out the solution and simply make peace with doing the work.
    • setup your environment to make the solution the default state, rather than the actions which don't solve/make the problem worse.

    The opportunity of building a consulting business has been made very easy to enter, the barriers of entry are not the problem any longer. Once upon a time, it was very expensive and complicated to begin trading as a consultant, but now just about anyone with an internet connection can publish a 'shingle' and open their doors. But this is not the crucial part, it is the mechanics of delivering your solutions, defining your actual sphere of action-and then communicating these solutions to the right people!

    Hey Sam, Neil Hansen here on Vancouver Island. Welcome to the west coast Brother Man! I only got you a first payment on 2.0 when my Dad's health started to dive off and needed my attention, then he actually died and we had his funeral about a week ago. He had an awesome life, was able to see everyone before passing, did so in 24 hrs comfortably and had an exceptional service. The stress has caught up to me and my back is now out so work is suffering(construction) but I'm going to muster up rest off course and get'r done. Your a cool man... keep up the good work and don't let the people failing disappoint.

I've made a note on my computer with the key points of this video and anytime I don't know where to start or I feel confused I look at it. I struggled thinking by just doing anything that I was making progress but spending the time to map and ask the important questions so then I can execute has been a game changer. Much Mahalos Sam! Yeah I really like your productivity thoughts and systems Sam, they are really helpful.
    One thing that helps a lot for motivation is having a deeper and more meaningful "why."
    Many people have a surface level "why" so they have more of a surface level attraction to their end destination. Fill in your heart with that meaningful destination/goal, build certainty around it through repeatedly seeing it, visualizing it, and feeling it, and you will turn up that magnetism 10x until it inevitably becomes true.
    There are actually ways to architect and predictably find a stronger "why" in someone's life, but most people just don't know how to do it. And those who did just "stumbled" across it through luck.

    Hi Sam Ovens,
    Great analysis and overview of most people's productivity issues.
    Your talk allowed me to see a simple illustrated animated story line of a person's developing life.
    Simple creatures we are.
    Maybe when we have unresolved issues of mind and heart, it could be like fibrilation.
    Your story seems to encourage a form of defibrillation to return the body to proper functioning, get rid of "baggage and distractions" and identify a purpose, create clarity.
    Brilliant.

    There is always competition. When you have competition it becomes clear that competence hierarchies are a real thing despite just wishing it into existence you actually have to be better or at least be better at perception. You can rebrand anything. First set the illusion. Next make the illusion the new perception of your customers life. Good vid though good points solid basic advice.

  • @alexeykisilier
    @alexeykisilier 2 роки тому

    The very first thing in the morning before work I just sit down for a few minutes and write my priority list. What is it, what I have to do before everything else to conquer the day? After doing this, my days became so much easier and stress free. The focus comes by itself. I’ve realized how many of my colleagues are under constant pressure and stress. Week after week I see people get sick leave. I think the correlation is quite obvious. If you do everything at once and all is important, you’ll never achieve any positive results, whether in life, nor job, nor anywhere else. Especially because we have limited hours a day, we have no time to do everything. Sorting out unimportant things is truly a game changer.
