    I love this video! Being a woman of a certain age. I don't want to see half naked girls in the bathroom, with a TON of make-up on, blaring the latest radio hit, popping their lips saying, "so umm...yeah" 50 times. Definitely a new subscriber!

    • @Michelle-pn9xt

      Why not simply pay attention to what they are saying in the video? There are plenty of haircare videos showing women of all ages who are not half naked. If you watch TV and you see something you do not like, change the channel. If you are on UA-cam and see something you do not like, watch a different video. Simple!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Oh wow, just shows how results vary. I LOVE Mielle gel. It works best for me with Shea Moisture Detangler as a leave in.

    • @EmbraceNaturalBeauty
      @EmbraceNaturalBeauty  7 років тому +1

      Oh nice! You are using a combination I have never tried before. My results are based on using the 3 Mielle Organics products. But my hair loves the SM Low Porosity Leave In Detangler. If Mielle gel can work well with it I would love to try that combination. Are you using the Protein Free Leave In Detangler or the Raw Shea Butter Extra Moisture Leave In Detangler?

      Amazing how the product has a declining effect. I am accustom to getting similar or better results when I use a product for a 2nd time and subsequent applications. This product seems to be unflattering the more it is used.
      Fortunately, you have found success with the shampoo for your SD clients, I will keep that in mind. I continue to use their deep conditioner with some of my clients.

    I love your in depth reviews. With this wash N go you did have nice definition. However, I love your wash N gos with Shea moisture low porosity leave in with the wet line and eco styler gels. I tried the low porosity leave in with Uncle Funky Daughter gel and my wash N go was horrible. But, because of you I repurchased the low porosity leave in and on my 3rd attempt I used it with the wetline gel. Bravo, excellent results. This is now my go to leave in.

    I tried the Peony leave in and loved how moisterized it left my hair but the scent??? Oh no!! Smells like old perfume! I just couldn't get over the smell so it was a no go. The gel I really had high hopes for but my hair hated it for some reason. It was super hard for me to apply and left me with a strange film and too much crunch for my liking. Both products are in my failed product graveyard now!! Love watching your videos Abena!! You are so informative and really prompt us all to examine our hair and how it reacts to products!! Your Hair Is Gorgeous! I've watched quite a few wash and go videos in the last few months since attempting to master a routine. Well, ur wash and goes, in my Opinion, has been, by far, the best looking. I Love ur look and for it to last for 11 days and still look like a day one, O M G! Definitely Hair Goals! Ur not crazy about Mielle Products for the reason U Explained but, U Have Definitely Convinced Me to Change Up to using Mielle. Thx So Much for Sharing. Jus So Beautiful!

    Thanks for the video! The same happened with me. I think the milk and Lea in-in are solid products. But it's something about that gel that by the 3rd time? Done. Almost hate it now. Must be one of its ingredients.

      Embrace Natural Beauty I seem to do best with one or the other, the leave-in or milk. They both did well with CRN Curlmaker. But at that rate I've just been using the CRN products since that's the gel I use. But both the Mielle products played with with a heavy gel like Wetline. I did try that once.

    Thank you for your review and demo. I've tried the Mielle products (leave in, almond milk conditioner, mint almond oil, and honey ginger gel) several times and I will not repurchase after they are gone. I had 3 successful wash and goes and now my hair is not as defined. Each successive wash and go is less defined and more poofy and dull even though I make sure to clarify my hair. It's a no go for me too. The best product in the line for me is the leave in. It readily defines my hair. Looking forward to more reviews and demos. See you on periscope this evening. 😊

    Thank you for the in-depth review! I used it just once: I had high hopes for the gel due to the ingredients (and I really like the brand owner/creator!). I had to return it because it flaked on me. My hair came out BEAUTIFULLY otherwise. It had been a LONG TIME since I'd gotten flaking from a gel. People told me to try it again with oil or a leave-in, but I have gels that I can use solo that don't flake and that perform well, so I decided to return it. I've heard that for folks who don't get flakes with it, it's lovely.

    • @EmbraceNaturalBeauty
      @EmbraceNaturalBeauty  7 років тому +1

      Did you use the gel alone? no leave in, no moisturizer?

    • @mickeysanders1581
      @mickeysanders1581 7 років тому +3

      First, I did a small patch test with the Mielle gel on a small section of soaking wet hair that had no other products. I was really impressed. Dried elongated and gorgeous! Then, I did my entire head with the Mielle gel -- with TGIN Green Tea Super Moist Leave In Conditioner beneath it. Before doing this, I had mixed the gel and leave-in in my hand to ensure that no tiny white balls would form. Results: My hair "snowed" all day! Any time my hair moved or brushed against anything, flakes would fall/fly off into the air. I have other gels that don't flake with any leave-ins that I use. Incidentally, I no longer use the TGIN leave in. My main leave-in's currently are the Kinky Curly Knot Today and Curl Junkie Curl Assurance Smoothing Lotion (the latter has RIDICULOUS slip!).

    • @EmbraceNaturalBeauty
      @EmbraceNaturalBeauty  7 років тому +2

      Snowed for days...oh how awful! The only gel that has caused me as much grief was Beautiful Textures and prior to that was Kinky Curly when I had a TWA (in 2012). Thanks for the info on Curl Junkie Curl Assurance Smoothing Lotion. I may add it to products to consider.

    Late finding this review cuz Im late trying the product! BUT...you know what they say about dating....'whatever you did to get her is what you have to do to keep her!' Sooooo, I'm thinking if you are as thorough & careful every application as you were the 1st time, you will get the same results each time. I think you said u used 3 products 1st time then changed??? Ive learned that with any line of products, I get best results when I used as many of their products as possible EACH time. I can really tell when I skip a step or use a different product, amount, technique or timing. Sometimes even the order of application makes a difference. All said, I LOVE YOUR HAIR! Mine doesnt hang but I love mine , too!

    HI! Questions!! I notice you mostly wear your hair in wash-n-gos, is that all year? My hair loves water and loves wash-n-gos but I'm afraid I won't retain much length that way. I have not come across anyone who does wash-n-gos all the time in type 4 hair, I usually see looser curls. My hair is similar curl pattern when wet and everything but it's just more poofy if you get what I mean. Your hair is looser and mine is kinkier, I guess, but same curl pattern. lol I love rhassoul clay to cleanse my hair and it gives me the best definition. Anyway, my question is can I retain length with wash-n-gos?

    Hi, can you tell me how to retain moisture in my natural hair.
    My hair is still damaged after me having a keratin treatment done over 3years ago, now the hair is dry but has moisture in the first instance of my washing it and then applying moisture creams, oils etc. I have cut off all the damaged hair but it seems like the new hair is very course and dry to the touch.. my current hairstyle/hair care is natural, I also wear a hair wrap or single braids with extensions.
    I have been using a variety of hair care products to see which one works well with my hair but yet once the product is absorbed into the hair the hair is then again dry out and frizzy.
    Can you advise and help me.

    Mielle did *absolutely nothing* for *my* hair. That trigger on the bottle of the leave in is aggravating-too small. The product itself is way too watery. Not moisturizing at all for me. I did like the fragrance. The avocado hair milk did nothing for me either. Such a huge disappointment. My hair was a joke-dry, lifeless & little to no definition. I need heavier, creamy, richly moisturizing products for hair that lasts at least 6 days. Very good review. I've seen you with *really* nice results using other products. I really like the fact that you show what your hair looks like several days after wash day. Most vloggers only show fabulous day one results. Do you find that sometimes you just need to switch up your products from time to time?

    • @EmbraceNaturalBeauty
      @EmbraceNaturalBeauty  7 років тому +2

      Thank you! No, I do not feel the need to switch up. But after wearing my hair super defined sometimes I'm ready for a fuller look. I am trying different product combinations to have more options to offer my clients when they visit the salon. Otherwise, I am usually happy with my tried and true products so long as they do not change their formulation.
