    If you’re coming to this video in 2019 please notice the date on the video. I teach what I know at the time of my journey and with growth comes change. Watch more recent videos to see my transition and new methods. This video was made for someone who is a newly natural who has never moisturized their hair properly. When starting as a natural it is best to start with cowashing until your hair is moisture trained. Once you’re moisture trained you should definitely be shampooing weekly. I study tf outta natural hair so learn these tips and leave your negative comments out of the comment section or I will block you. 😊 K?

    I do leave in, moisturizer, gel and then an oil to scrunch the crunch when my hair is dry. It take me about 20 minutes to do. And I get about 6 days of a bomb wash n go. With a light refresh in between. Thanks for the feedback about the brush. Will definitely change when I use my brush.

    I did my second wash n go yesterday. The first one was in 2017. Let me tell you, that do your hair in the shower tip is DA TRUTH! I can't believe the difference it makes. My hair feels just as soft as it did yesterday and I still have a nice curl pattern (that I didn't know existed). I think I have 4a in the front and 4b/c in the back. But honestly, I have no idea.

    OMG GURL! Tip number 4!!! I've been detangling at each step of product, thinking I was distributing the product - but you're 100% right! I was brushing the product down my hair shaft and leaving my roots bare - and seeing so much frizz at the roots as a result! I'll be making this adjustment IMMEDIATELY!

    I wash my hair (with either shampoo or co wash depends on wash day) while soak and wet put in my leave in conditioner, spray a moisturizer lastly use a hair butter to seal. I stopped using gel My wash and gos come out beautiful. I no longer use extra products or steps. I love the freedom of it

    I used to do my wash n gos on soaking yet hair until I tried it on damp hair and It gave me life ! I get more define curls on damp hair than soaking wet hair and doing it on damp hair minimizes the drying time .

      Soaking my hair never worked for me, I would always watched the videos of influencers saying to soak the hair and it would always turn out horribly. So for my natural gals who have the hair that typically doesn’t corporate try on damp hair and apply the gel with your fingers only!! I had given up on wash n go’s but finally figured it out! Try your best to figure out YOUR hair don’t keep trying the same things that don’t work like I did!! It will save you a lot of time!!

    I get the idea of co-washing. Co-washing is for helping really dry hair obtain moisture. If you cannot afford to purchase a "co-wash shampoo" a really great alternative is to use your fav conditioner and add dime size of shampoo

    Great Video!!! Some naturalist need to understand, everyone can't use the same products on their hair and that is Okay. As a matter of fact that is GREAT!!! That's what makes african american/black hair so damn Unique. Embrace your natural curls, know your hair and build a regimen specific to YOUR hair type. Thin, thick, curly, coarse, or whatever, buy the product for what your hair and scalp needs. AND please take care of your scalp, unhealthy scalp NO healthy hair growth.

    When co-washing, can I add a small amount of apple cider vinegar for the cleansing effect? Or would it defeat the purpose of calling it co-washing?

    • @KimberlyCherrell
      @KimberlyCherrell  6 років тому +6

      I think adding a small amount of ACV would be fine in conjunction with the conditioner. I would do that every other week though, not every week. Thats only if you feel your hair needs a bit of cleansing that week. The goal is to retain as much moisture as you can. Your hair will let you know when its time to cleanse.

    You should try Murray’s edge wax and eco for defining curls, just take a small piece of your hair apply the eco first rubbing it in from roots up then use the Murray’s edgewax and do the same thing, if your hair still doesn’t define add more murrays and rub it in. Once it defines add sprits of water to it to make it mosturizes but not that much water or it will melt off! Try this with only small sections do not try to do it with huge pieces. I have very course 4c hair it worked you should really try it ! Trust me you’ll thank me later !!!❤️

    I do it in the shower, but it just comes out frizzy. Actually I do all the steps.🤔
    I do need a trim, but even when I do trim it, it still looks frizzy.

    What curl creams do you recommend with the leave in and gel? Because they seem to not pair up with gels, they become clumpy and leave tons of flakes

    Why you recommend deep conditioning, why not just cowash? I try adding a curl enhancer and it gave me product build up and my hair took days to air dry. With just the leave in and gel there was no build up. Also I'm low porosity.

    How do you moisturize for your protective style

  • @BeaunaturelleFeb11
    @BeaunaturelleFeb11 6 років тому +1

    Kim in this video you said that its not enough to just use leave-in, oil, and then gel, but to incorporate some type of curl cream on top the leave-in. Can u explain why plese? Is it to give the hair more weight? Or an extra layer of protection? Thank you in advanxe.

    • @KimberlyCherrell
      @KimberlyCherrell  6 років тому +7

      Good Question! So this was around the time I realized my hair was more dry than moisturized when using oils. The cream is to add the right amount of moisture... Leave ins have a bit of moisture but NOT enough. A leave in conditioner's main function is to make your hair more manageable, control frizz etc but not to necessarily moisturize. Hope this helpssss :)

      Keep your WETTTT while putting all your products in. They won’t work well on semi-damp hair or dry hair. Also, incorporate an oil (before or after). Hope this helps ❤️

      From experience curl enhancing smoothie and eco styler just don’t work together for years i though it was my hair but its those products try something different then curl enhancing smoothie because its flaky

    Step #1 WATER!!! Yes! (..."this ain't no game!") My 1st 'wng' mistake was not enough water--which is why I didn't get desired results. I have low-porosity hair and was dampening my hair rather than drenching my hair with water. Great tips on this video. Thank you! Ms. ECstreet :)

    Can you make a video teaching people how to train the hair to tame some frizz ? If your hair frizz is not tamed no matter what products a person use or which technique.... if the hair isn’t tamed it’s still gonna frizz up
