7 Reasons Condemnation is Not of God

  • If you want to experience greater freedom as a believer, you must realize that condemnation is not of God.
If you were to imagine your enemy as an army coming against you, the front-line attack is accusation. It’s the infantry of satan’s work, one that he takes on personally. His name speaks of being an accuser.
No one will live a fruitful life while sitting under thoughts that accuse, condemn and shame. But be advised, it will come against you quite often. In fact, the Bible says the accuser does it day and night (Revelation 12:10). He never rests in seeking to keep you under condemnation.

I have suffered from debilitating condemnation for the last 3 months and I haven't been able to read God's word (even the new testament) because it reinforces this condemnation that I've been rejected by God and this teaching is helping me cast off that voice. Thank you, Mark. I've purchased two of your Audible books now.

Since I’ve recommitted my life to the Savior it’s been NON STOP condemnation, the EXACT thing I felt when I was in a cultish HIGHLY legalistic church. I was talking Christ at work, people were listening etc and BOOM, the condemnation literally wakes me up and never leaves

I am so sorry to hear. It is the enemy. He is threatened by you and your love for people. As the saying goes, ‘when Satan reminds you of your past, remind him of his future’! Hang in there man of God, remember who you are in Christ!

Do you wake up covered in sweat with death looming over you? I was in a legalistic culture too. Church homeschooling group and basically my life.. You probably have trouble eating too. That crap keeps creeping up and Jesus has to throw it out of my mind. Romans 6 7 and 8. I work for the government and everyone knows I am a Christian now. Problem is I have so much depression I doubt they want to replicate my life. I had a demon experience 5 months ago too. Levitation, gravel sounding voices and terrible dreams. Just keep keep reminding Satan his time is short and your time is eternal safety in Jesus

@@rachellydy3367Hi! Can I talk to you about religious OCD? I feel like im dealing with it and it's causing me to backslide away from God. I'll try to elaborate. I feel like everything I'm doing is a sin. Some "sins" that pop up in my mind are, wearing a cross necklace, braids, makeup, nails/nail polish, jewlery, celebrating holidays/my birthday (paganism), and not spreading the Gospel to the best of my ability. These thoughts pop up out of nowhere. I get this strong urge to look up the "sin" but there's a voice in my mind always telling me, "Don't do it, don't do it." But I give in and do it anyways. This has caused me to have panic attacks and get extremely overwhelmed to the point where I start crying. I just want to feel mentally at peace.

Accusation is not one of the devils tools. It is not the Frontline work. It is HIS ONLY tool. It is the complete function of his army of demons. People say that the devil can both tempt you and accuse you. It has to be one or the other - it is accusation. Christ gives us free righteousness and the devil seeks to make us feel unjustified. This the pivotal understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Mark DeJesus Just finished Exposing the Rejection Mindset audiobook, taking some waypoint notes on the kindle version when the audio had supernatural illumination in my story. Definitely going to take multiple passes to absorb with the depth your work merits. It always puzzled me that Derek Prince and Francis MacNutt, in their own families, never had a son who would take their lifetime of developmental work (respectively) to the next level - the thought which has come discovering your work is (knowing you already recognize pride as a waterslide to the abyss) . . . you seem to be carrying their torch in ways which would fill them with overflowing affection & honor from above, as if you were indeed a son in this lineage. I can kinda see the Archangel Michael lightly laughing when saying that, indicating he saw that a *long time* ago. : )

Hey man, this video is amazing. Today I was struggling SOO much with condemnation to the point where I just wanted to sleep all day because I didn’t want to face having to speak to God.
The problem with this was the fact that there was nothing HUGE that I did , it’s not like I sinned against God in a way that would put me in a situation of feeling condemned.
And before this I had dreams that were of things I used to do that were in sin and it felt like it was still part of my identity today when I woke up. Condemnation is DEATH there is no other way of describing it. It really does feel like DEATH.

The thing I struggle with is the voice that tells me I'm condemned tells me there's nothing I can do to come back to christ. That because of my once lustful lifestyle that I've sense repented of and unwanted blasphemous thoughts that I am cursed and separated from Christ. It's a terrible awful fearful feeling. I have blasphemous thoughts all day and night long that never stop. And a fearful terror and dread follows me all day. When I pray I hear a voice that tells me I have rejected you and it causes me such grief and fear. It's made me weary to live but afraid to die. I don't know if anyone else has gone thru this battle but I wouldn't wish it on anyone

Hi Jacob, Truth of the matter is many people go through this. MORE then you know, especially those that LOVE and want to please God. If you had done it the Holy Spirit wouldn't be allow you to feel convicted or remorse,. Therefore it is Satan is using accusations to destroy you and bring heavy torment. Please see someone about this talking in person to a reputable counsellor/minister helps. Defy the need to stay isolated though it hurts in the beginning. Take walks. Start declaring " even if I have done it I am forgiven, THEREFORE IS NOW NO CONDEMNATION to those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 1:17) Those thoughts have become a stronghold but purposely defying the negative arrows will allow Jesus to speak to you through the enemy's noise. Trust me the Devil has nothing on you, he has been a liar from the beginning! x

I know you posted this a little over a year ago, Mark, but this seems to be helping. I've always been obsessive about my unwanted thoughts, as far back as I can recall, and then over sin after committing my life to Christ. A severely and chronically guilty conscience. After I gave my life to Christ (a loooOOOooong time ago) I stayed the course for about 3 years, but then began to slowly drift into gross sin. I allowed myself to be deceived into seeking my own glory through the career I had at the time (thinking I was able to be a witness in that field and justifying it that way), among other things. I would always feel terrible about having fornicated, for example, and I'd sincerely repent. I'd then fall again not long afterward. Rinse and repeat. This went on for far too long. Far too long. I did eventually sincerely repent about 6 or seven years ago, but the shame, guilt, and regret over my actions for so long a period is literally crushing me. I wonder, "how could I have done that to Him? *How* ??" Compounding the problem is the very real terror that I have gone too far and that I am beyond forgiveness. One of the fruitless branches that the Father cuts away and tosses aside, ya know? Also the warnings that Paul gives about people practicing such things as sexual immorality, drunkenness, envy, coveting, etc. Most of that I don't think I have an issue with any longer, definitely not sexual immorality or drunkenness, but always I wonder, "but what *if* I'm committing idolatry and don't know it??" or some other sin. "I got irritated on the freeway and sat on the horn! Oh no! Was that an outburst of wrath?" This stuff tortures me. ha ha I laugh but it's literal agony. Like being on a torture rack for days at a time. That may sound dramatic, but it's accurate.
Anyway, I feel odd putting all that here on YT for anyone in the world with an internet connection to read, but maybe it'll help someone else, too. Thank you for your videos, sir. Edited for typos.

    • @Waffnub
      @Waffnub 3 роки тому

"This stuff tortures me. haha i laugh but it's literal agony." I can relate to this comment so much, I've felt that my inner condemnation is comical in a sense because of how ridiculous it seems, especially explaining it to others! but the agony is oh so real, torment. I have progressively been making ground in this area though! the verse "Even if my heart condemns me, God is greater than my heart" 1 John 3:20 is a powerful push back against the voice of condemnation. God's gift of righteousness seems far too good to be true, this is how i think we feel, those of us who feel not good enough, and somehow end up agreeing with the enemies accusations. I have noticed a shift in me though, in choosing to listen to the words of the Good shepherd! He is for us, he will not abandon us, he will deliver us! God bless you with the peace of the father!

I really enjoyed this video and it has given me a new perspective on my relationship with god. However, the verse of Romans 6:22 comes to mind where it is stated “But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of god”
What do you think of this?
Im my study Bible it relates the word “slave” to the first-century intent of “doulos” which conveyed at least five ideas of absolute obedience, compulsory obedience, consistent obedience, exclusive obedience, and loyal obedience.

Hello Mark, I deeply appreciate your videos and I’m saving some money to have private counseling with you. Your channel has been helping me so much in opening my eyes to the patterns I got caught up into since being born-again. I have a question, can OCD or scrupulosity make you guilty of things that aren’t sinful? Does guilt automatically imply that I might have done something that is not of God’s will for me and that the enemy takes this as an opportunity to condemn me?
For more context I’ve been highly affected by legalistic views of godly women, and since God has sucked me out of the transgender ideology and gender dysphoria I’ve been wanting to express my femininity at last but I feel like I’m literally not allowed to, like a woman is not allowed to feel beautiful because it’s vanity and it leads to lust etc. It’s a very depressing place to be, and it forces me to believe that I should dress in a way I don’t like at all (basically like a nun, no makeup no pants no skin etc.). I’ve had moments where I was joyful wearing a necklace and some mascara and whatnot but after leaving the house I would feel debilitating guilt. If you have an insight or video to recommend I’d be really grateful... God bless you, and thank you for your work!

@@vaultofriaoh absolutely. My relationship with God has changed so much, and it keeps changing for the better. Don’t get me wrong, I got crazy battles I’m facing but I’m glad to say that this whole vanity issue is no longer an obsession.
Bottom line, I am now in a place where I feel loved enough by God that I feel comfortable wearing make up and expressing myself through fashion and I trust that He accepts and loves me this way.
Don’t believe your thoughts. If it’s a rule, it’s probably a lie. Sin is real but only the loving discipline of the Lord can bring clarity to these confusing, scrupulous dilemmas, in a way that brings peace and joy, and not more bondage and feeling like we’re not good enough.

This is awesome. I have been struggling with something that sounds stupid but is worrying to me. I feel like I am getting conviction from the Holy Spirit to throw away some earthly objects that I don’t want to throw away. By this I mean like objects. But I hear and read stuff like, “But if you have doubts about whether or not you should eat something, you are sinning if you go ahead and do it. For you are not following your convictions. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.” Romans 14:23.
Is this a sign of religious OCD or do you think I’m being guided by God. Keep in mind that I feel like if I do not do so I am sinning and I will go to Hell if I don’t throw away the things I don’t want to. Yes I know the gospel is not performance based but I am feeling like God is telling me to do so.

    • @marktdejesus

Looking back on my journey, I had many times when I felt this driving urge that I needed to throw away objects, but I can see that it was done out of OCD and a religious performance pressure. There are times in love relationship with God, where I have felt to let go of certain things, but it was done out of love, not by a pressing guilt or obsession.

I don't see condemnation in the new testament..especially for the saved..I see warnings to believers though and consequences of sin and things like that...But if you are living Godly being obedient if you have truly repented if you accept Jesus as your lord and savior you aren't condemned man God is not gonna reject you...you aren't gonna be cast into the lake of fire even though hell is a real place...You follow and obey God you don't have to worry about spending eternity there...

We all sin man. Even after receiving the holy spirit. There's a constant war going on between the flesh and the spirit. Jesus said: "Pray that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit is indeed willing but the flesh is weak" Were all gonna mess up. But if Repent and do our best to leave that sin, and trust and believe in God. You will be forgiven. I'm no expert but that's my belief.

I was apart of that group the UPC, I almost lost my mind there, it’s a cult. That’s not the gospel, Acts 2:38 was specific to day of Pentecost on that particular evening, not a form of salvation.

Sorry if you’ve been condemned by Christians. I’m a Christian myself for 2 years and have been hurt a lot by so called “Christian’s” who are critical and judgmental. Not all Christian’s are like that and I hope you meet some who show genuine love and grace from God like I have.

Hi mark my name is Paul McGuinness I'm from long island NY
I am on the high functioning end of the autism spectrum. And am 24 years old. I struggle so much with reading the Bible and. Putting it into practice. I feel so intimidated by scriptures like the way to heaven is narrow and the gate to hell is easy.
And few enter it. As well as things like I must not love mother father more than God otherwise I'm not worthy to be a diciple. And the scriptures were Jesus says those who love me keep my commandments. I feel like alot of trying to follow God's commands in new testament are burden some

I also struggle with just picking one bible book or passage. To read on and I feel like I can't make up my mind on what to read and put into practice God has shown me so many wonderfully things. And has given me good advice . And things to work on. But I can't seem to just stick to one area. So I wander from page to page till I finally get frustrated and give up on the bible

And about the blasphemous thoughts, I know exactly what you’re talking about. I’ve experienced them many of times and they’re horrible. I hate the thoughts. But what I had to realize is that God sees my heart and knows that I don’t want to be thinking these thoughts nor do I believe them. Those blasphemous thoughts you’re thinking are from the devil and not from yourself, no matter how much the devil tries and convince you that they’re your thoughts. Just the very fact you’re worried about the thoughts is showing that the thoughts are not from you. Every time you get a bad thought, just go back to God’s word and pick a scripture to say and remind yourself of God’s truth. God is not mad at you and He loves you and nothing can EVER change that. “Submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

    What really helped me:
Jesus Himself is our High Priest. If you read about a High Priest he has a plate of pure gold on his Forehead like the engravings of a signet: HOLY TO THE LORD. So all your thoughts and all your doings no matter what is in your mind are HOLY TO THE LORD through Jesus Christ. Let your thoughts go. They will become right and holy not of yourself but by the Holy Spirit. All holy thoughts and deeds are fruits and not pushed out
