Great video, Chris. I'm glad to see you back. I liked the wooden medal as well, it looked slick. Great filming and editing, I liked some of the shots of what was going on behind you during the race.
@@HereWeAreRunning Great news if more "Here We Are Running" videos are on their way over the Christmas period. I am registered for a very fun race here in New York City -- it starts at 11:59 p.m. December 31, New Year's Eve, with fireworks at the starting horn, and runs 4 miles in the dark in Central Park around the Lake with fireworks bursting overhead. 4 miles at midnight in Central Park in the winter. So fun. Come run it someday.
@@HereWeAreRunning Chris, thank you for your reply. Yes, it is amazing. At the 'water station' they serve non-alcoholic champagne. Good thing I'm a slow runner, so I can watch the fireworks as I run -- the fireworks start the race at midnight. This race is put on by the New York Road Runners, the same group that puts on the New York City Marathon. I hope you can run some of these races here someday. I have not recently seen your son sneak into one of your videos to play air guitar as he once did -- I hope he is okay!
Cracking good run, Chris! 48mins and *change* you gave it a good shot. Looks a *tidy* course - not a great fan of pavements but a bit of *hot closed road action* is good. I had a cold 'un on Saturday. The windswept army range *asphalt/concrete* roads and footpaths of Salisbury Plain. A traffic free (99.9%) off road marathon. Treated it as a *long run* - I haven't run the distance in several months....treating as a long run means not *tapering* etc: tried to train normally tho the day before I *merely* did a gym *thing* of 45mins Cross trainer and 40 mins of bits and bobs. Deciding clothing was tricky and I was spot on. Long sleeved top with an old (no longer waterproof as no rain forcast) Montane smock - with the handy bib pocket) I carried my old £5.99 Lidl jacket (shoves into pocket of shorts) warm (Merino Wool lines *waterproof*) socks various buffs etc. I only needed a Salomon Waist pack (Spibelt type - excellent) to carry anything. 4hrs 20mins, nice and steady only looked at watch twice, 25 miles very good, tired legs last mile. Wooden medal. Home in time for Costa, happy days.
Well done. I'd love to be able to run a marathon as a training run. Wooden medals seem to becoming more popular. I like them. I have a Montane waterproof jacket in for a review. Just need to wait for some rain. Its been dry since it arrived 😄
Hi Chris, Looks like an interesting event. Hope that you were happy with your performance. Good to see Dan was also in attendance and looking well. You seemed to be running freely and enjoying it. Have a great lead up to Christmas. I always look forward to your vlogs. Many thanks. Cheers! Phil
Thanks Phil. Yes I was happy with the way it went on Sunday and enjoyed taking part. Also, good to see quite a few familiar faces and to get to run with Dan again, he did great. Hope things are going well for you, I imagine it's warming up where you are. We have minus temperatures coming up during the next few days 🥶
Thanks and yes, great to say hello during and after the race. Unfortunately I had to leave quickly after the race to catch the 2nd half of my son's football match, otherwise I'd have chatted for longer.
Nice one Chris. Great to see you out there again and good job on the race. Was good to see some familiar places too, I used to live down the road from Weybridge
Thanks Ben. It's a nice area to run in. I especially like the Thames path. Did my fastest Half along it, starting and finishing at Walton Bridge, during lockdown.
@@HereWeAreRunning It's a great route along the Thames. Would like to do some more running along it in the future, there's quite a lot of variation too from following it in London vs towns and villages outside
Absolutely crushed it Chris! Thanks for joining us 😀
Thank you, for a great event 👍😀
Great video, Chris. I'm glad to see you back. I liked the wooden medal as well, it looked slick. Great filming and editing, I liked some of the shots of what was going on behind you during the race.
Thanks Andy.
That's my very first wooden medal but I really liked it. Nice design and had a bit of weight to it.
@@HereWeAreRunning Oh, Chris, you know you're not in top shape when a race medal is too heavy for you!! LOL LOL.
It was lucky that I didn’t run as we would of had matching outfits. Well run Chris 👍
With the camouflage jackets, nobody would have noticed us anyway 😂
Well done, Chris. I am happy that you are running again and doing videos.
Thanks Cathy. More videos on there way over the Christmas period 😀

That sounds like an amazing race, seeing in the New Year 🎆

Top running Chris! That was one handsome man sporting that GTR kit plus you got to give him a hug you lucky sod! 🤣 Shout out to James too. 😎🤘
Thanks Ben. I think that hug gave him the boost he needed to smash the 10K 😂
Sterling effort! I told you that you could do sub 50 😊. You sailed past the pacer on the final stretch
You were right Dan 👍
Only saw the 50 min pacer at the start and the end but just like 2019 it was good to overtake her on the final stretch.
Well done Chris, good to see you back on UA-cam again!
Thanks Steve 👍 😀
Good to see you back Chris!
Thanks Thomas 👍 😀
Nice too see you back Chris 😀
Thanks Vikki 👍 😀
Great to get your perspective on this race after watching Dan Runs!Happt to see you running and sharing again on the YT! Keep pushing my friend!
Thanks Paul. Always nice to be running the same event as Dan.

Love your running vlogs Chris. Hope to see you back again soon.
Thanks Wendy. Planning a few videos over Christmas and hopefully the start of a regular training series soon.

@@HereWeAreRunning No worries. Me too, I couldn’t stick around as I had to shoot straight off to work, which wasn’t ideal.
Merry Christmas Chris. Hope that you and your family have a good one! Cheers! Phil
Thanks Phil. We are having a good Christmas. I hope you are too 👍
Looks good fun. Hugs and Santa hats too.
It can only mean one thing, Christmas must be coming 🎅
Well done. Recognised quite a few of those roads as Weybridge is not far from me. Never done this race though.
Thanks Tim. You should give it a go, being so close. Nice course and good atmosphere.
Well done. Looks like a nice course
Thanks Stephen. Yes a nice setting, down by the river.
I spied me in the warm up! Second time for me yesterday! I quite like it but the hills aren’t much fun. Especially the one right at the end!
Good to hear you made it into the video Hannah. That bump towards the end was a bit cheeky but once over it, it was a nice straight run to the finish.
That’s great pace Chris …. You will fly when you up your training! 👊💥
Thanks Michael. It was nice to race a distance where I could put a bit of speed in the legs.
Great running Chris! Well done 👏👏👍
Thanks Ben. It was a good test of my current fitness.
