A marvellous video Sir from start to finish with plenty to chuckle at along the way 😁. That woodland is a snowdrop oasis with a lovely badger sett. Thank you. Paul 😊
Love all your videos, you don't have to be slick and copy what others are doing. Your pithy comments and the dogs getting into mischief and your tips on what to do are just the right mix. Keep on doing what you are doing, can't wait for the next one. All the best Keith.
Enginemaker, I am pleased you get something from the videos, the dogs will always get into mischief, and i wish I could share their wind problem with everyone as well....but I love them dearly and i've been fortunate enough to have shared my life with many generations of the same line of Jack Russells....all equally rabbit obsessed but beautifully tempered. We shall continue for the forseeable future and comments like yours give us all encouragment. Thank you and best wishes.....Malcolm
Loved the ending - really funny and nice to see you all having a laugh!! Our local woodland doesn't have snowdrops but bluebells instead. Such a beautiful sight to see that carpet of blue! I look forward to it every year!
We take everything seriously Gardening at Douentza.....especially life, as at times it can be seriously ridiculous. The woods are magical, and where i was filming is full of badger setts........I have watched them on a late evening and they are fascinating creatures. Best wishes.....Malcolm
I found a wild bunch of snowdrops on the edge of our ramp patch. So excited to find your channel by accident as well Entertaining and educational Would love to visit someday
I'm so happy you decided to make a new series. It couldn't have come out @ a better time. It really helps with the winter blues to see you and the garden. I look forward to more, and please continue making filthy jokes. You are a gem!
Thank you for your kind comments Griselda. I've spent my life in potting sheds, which tend to be places of a rather earthy nature....to be honest with you i'm not even aware of the humour till it comes time to put the videos together, or more worryingly the bad language. Its a bit embarrassing really but I couldnt change even if I wanted to.....it was a bit much for the BBC some years ago so its likely cost the nursery a better profile.....I can happily live with that! As long as yourself and a few others can get something out of these films I feel quite privileged. Best wishes.....Malcolm
I will take that as a compliment Gardening with Puppies .....but rest assured there has been some very naughty boys in this business, especially amongst the older plant hunting fraternity. I've been privileged to know one or two....or perhaps cursed with knowing! Best wishes......Malcolm
Thank you so much Melissa....we are hoping to make quite a few in this series as long as people dont mind them being a bit rough cut... Best wishes.....Malcolm
I miss your videos. I assume that you have been very busy with your business, and hope that that is the reason why you haven't posted anything lately. I hope that you are doing very well, and that illness is not the reason for your absence. Whenever you do post something, know that I for one am ready and waiting to watch and learn.
OMGosh the ending was positively hysterical!!!! Those naturalized snowdrops were breathtaking! I planted a small patch in the garden last year and I'm surprised to find the bees already out and about on them. After an initial planting, about how long does it take before they are ready to divide? Cheers for another great video!
Just let them seed about regency lass.....and then divide after 4-5nyears when the clumps have built up. There is a substance in snowdrops called lectin that renders them almost pest free. Scientists have been looking at modifying edible crops with a gene to get some pest, mostly aphid, resistence...they also tried it with potatoes....in which i belive it worked though the spuds tasted like crap.....that's a horticultural term for less than pleasant..........best wishes, malcolm
Malcolm what happened to your hand (3:42)? Snowdrops in the natural setting en masse absolutely stunning. Love the footage of the honey bee We're having unseasonably warm weather; our girls took cleansing flights yesterday. Let's just say, don't be in the flight path of these girls on cleansing day ;) We still have 2+ feet of snow, but with this warm weather I expect there won't be much left come this weekend as temps are supposed to hit 60 mid week. May be we'll see some Pussy willows soon enough ;)
Funny guy, in one vid he speaks about the etherial ambiance of a cercidiphylum tree in autumn and the next vid he speaks about cats asses or black pussy trees. Poor Thomas :) Anyway gr8 vid, I do like snowdrops, they always mark the end of winter and the beginning of spring for me, along with the increasing number of birds chirping, with all the good times outside in the garden to come. I was wondering if you could do a vid sometime about how you manage all the irrigation on your nursery. I'm curious because I'm thinking of investing in some sprinklers or drip irrigation system for my garden this summer, but its like a jungle and some of the stuff you can buy is probably crap or too fancy. Just want something plain and simple that works. And thanks for previous vids, they're very informative.
I have spent most of this winter trenching a new irrigation system under the ground John. When i set up the timers in a month or two we will film how the system works, it is actually quite simple. There are many good suppliers such as 'access irrigation'......not that i use them because my usual supplier LBS Horticulture has everything I need but access I belive explain things well. Thank you for your kind comments......and as for the contrast between appreciating beauty and sniggering over a black pussy?....I have no explanation, just that life in general can be a huge contradiction sometimes, and i'm sure like many people my nature just reflects that. Best wishes......Malcolm
If women here in USA can put pussy hats on their heads then for sure you can laugh about saying it. I am hunting down all your videos and watching them and enjoying every single second. Blessed Christmas to you all. ❤️🌱now I got to go look up what's a tosser.
