@@SuzannaCramptonIreland I even saw that video not realizing how they were planted. So interesting. I might try that with some of mine. Thanks for posting how you do things.

Nice video, Did they come up ok. Does the video called
'I plant out snowdrop bulblet/seedlings onto an embankment' show them the following year? You seem to have got quite a few. How is that bank doing now?

@@SuzannaCramptonIreland I managed to grow some giant snowdrops from seed. They are about four times the size of normal snow drops. They grow in profusion in one of the villages near by, and I took a few pods that were hanging over the street. After several years I had enough pods to return the same number I took, except I put them in places where they might grow. The clump is very slow to spread but I think there were 25 flowers this year.

You're entirely wrong about this. The white stuff on the SEEDS (the large green balls are FRUITS botanically speaking) is called an 'elaiosome' and serves as an (mainly) ant attractant (food source) so they'll distribute the seeds when they take said elaiosome back to their nests.

So I planted these bulblets and grew loads of baby snow drops. I see I was wrong in doing that….
Thankfully I’m not a botanist & have never claimed to know correct names for plant parts. I just follow through what will naturally happen and amazingly it worked. So again I guess I was wrong…..

@@SuzannaCramptonIreland I'm not condemning you or whatever Suzanna, entirely not. I'm merely stating the correct nomenclature and what it is/isn't. The end result is the same though namely new snowdrops

I collected snowdrop fruits. But most of them are green even plant lives died. Now my question is : Do I have to wait until they rip and open up to collect the seeds, or I have to force, brake the fruits with my finger like this video is showing.

let them ripen a bit more before you open seeds. seeds. 😄👍

@@SuzannaCramptonIreland I already cut them off and collect them in little plastic container with some soil in. I keep them on the window exposed on the sun. They started yellowing slowly, but I fill it will take long until they rip. Am I doing right. I was thinking to open them a little bit when they soften.
Or should I wait until they rip and open by them self ?
      Thanks for replying !!!

@@SuzannaCramptonIreland I'm afraid to wait, because I think they shrink and die. Should I moist them a little bit - every other day ?
Should I keep them out side exposed to sun or inside exposed to light and room temperature ?
      Thanks, Ed

Thank you. Will be trying to this, this year. Your seed-heads look huge compared to the ones I have. Do you think that will affect my success?

You can only experiment to find out. they could be a different variety of snowdrop. i hope you’re successful
