Candidly I'd feel Ice/Fairy fits the Vanillite line better, like weird little sprites mimicking what appeals to people. I recall musing that the Tandemaus line might work if their theme was slightly adjusted to mice huddling from the cold. Orthworm also strikes me as good for Normal/Steel, likewise Yanmega for Bug/Dragon.
Overally, appreciate the list and contemplation. It's fun to think on all the nuances of what Pokemon can offer.
Gamefreak doesn't add these types on purpoise, as long as there are unused types the hype for each new game remains
Well they're going to make them most likely in the next game
Gen 10 will introduce a new type just so they never fill the rest of the combinations
Well then they will just have to be creative and invent more new types as well.
The fact we got Normal/Ghost a typing we thought we would never have as the types are opposite and would be ridiculously overpowered before any of these, is hilarious
I saw a UA-cam video about this a little while ago, and one way you could look at the Normal-type is it's the type for regular animals, so if a Pokemon is just a regular animal but has some elemental traits, you can make if Normal and aother type. But Normal is also the stand-in for sound so Pokemon using Sound-based attacks can also be Normal-types.
Kricketot and Kricketune could be great choices for Bug/Normal, while Cubchu and Beartic can be Ice/Normal as they are just Polar Bears.
Daschbun was the perfect FAIRY / FIRE
I think Stakataka fits well as a Ghost/Rock type, the many creepy eyes it got and it's strange cry makes it look more like a Ghost type rather than a Steel type.
Ninetales could work as a Fire/Fairy type as well, its Alolan form is already Fairy type so why not the Kantonian form too?
The crickets make more sense for bug/normal imo. They’re music themed and normal is used often for sound related Pokémon like exploud and Jigglypuff
I feel like this video was engineered to make me comment on it because like, c’mon. I understand your reasoning for Blacephalon, but it’s not the obvious choice. That’d have to be Victini let’s be real
@@BepisQueenthis video has such shit reasons and is not remotely researched so honestly I could believe it being engagement bait like “I don’t see flygon being dragon bug” it’s a literal antlion how did you decide that isn’t a bug type
@@Cherry_coke_pop to play devil’s advocate, being “the sand spirit” is the intrinsic identity of flygon so I couldn’t see them dropping the ground type. And its feature, in my opinion are more lizard like than bug like (its claws, long tail, and lack of body segmentations or compound eyes). But I wouldn’t necessarily bat an eye if they made it Ground/Bug.
I don’t actually remember much from this specific video, but my prime candidate for Bug/Dragon is Yanmega. It’s much more obviously a bug, being classified as the “ogre darner Pokemon,” darner as in green darner, a species for large dragonflies. It’s also described as “extremely violent” in legends Arceus and said to have ‘incredible jaw power’ in Black/White, both of which could be attributed to the dragon type if you’re open minded enough lol. The ‘mega’ in its name might also be a reference to Meganeura, which were oversized prehistoric ancestors to modern day dragonflies. And that’s not necessarily good reasoning but we get a few dragon-type Pokemon based on dinosaurs so it wouldn’t be abnormal to get one based on another prehistoric predator.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meganeura
If I’m being completely honest tho, I’m just a little sad they made a dragonfly Pokemon and didn’t make it a dragon type lol
@@BepisQueen yeah I agree yanmega is a better fit then flygon but at the same time flygon is literally a bug and personally I do feel like even if the ground type is important I think that dragon bug does work better although ground bug is probably the best for flygon but at least it isn’t dudunsparce which is actually what they picked in this video even though it’s based on a snake yo Kai
@@Cherry_coke_pop they picked dunsparce?! Why!? 😭
Type related content? Yes, please!
I gotchu!
Still waiting for a regional form of Gyarados that is Water-Dragon and its Att and Sp Att are swapped.
Come on Gamefreak, hurry up and give us one!
Dunsparce and Dudunsprce i see them well normal/ground and Snubbul and Grandbull are good as Fairy/Fight
Yanmega would be great as a bug/dragon.
I love Normal/Ice for Vaniluxe, Fire/Fairy for Blacephalon, and Bug/Dragon for Flygon.
Bug/Dragon makes more sense for Vibrava and Flygon than what it already has. Not only is it based on a bug, but it's also in the Bug egg group. It would have also given Gen 3 a much needed decent Bug type. I feel the Ground typing is there mainly because it lives in a desert
Nah I'm not taking the slander for the Vanillite line especially because Cubchoo is right there as the prime candidate for an Ice/Normal type
Also Dunsparce is in no way or shape a bug, what?
Not to mention blachephalon, it's literally based on penny-wise, but "nah, fairy fits so much better!"
Worms and clowns man
I'm also defending the Vanilluxe line because it's actually an icicle monster with snow on top which is genius for an ice cream design, and we already have a lot of Normal type bears, wouldn't hurt to make a polar bear Normal type too, we could make Cubchoo the only Ice/Normal type in the line with Beartic losing the Normal type
@@nyanya660 Losing it to what?
@@Usuck56pure Ice type.
I feel like spidopps could be bug normal
The Vanillish line is literally pure ice so giving it Normal doesn't make much sense. I think you were right in the first place to give it to Seel/Dewgong.
Pinsir is closer to being part Fighting than it is Normal. The Bug/Normal Type should probably go to Spewpa and Scatterbug as they are the most plain Bug Pokemon (it even fits your logic)
When you mentioned Fire/Fairy my first thought went to Victini
In my opinion, with the exception of normal flying, there, shouldn’t be any combos with the normal type because when you’re a normal fire or a normal electric, you’re not normal anymore
Meanwhile me: Just make them have 3 types
Sameeee
There was a normal -steel pokestar studio opponent
I'm throwing in my opinions:
Normal Ice. Beartic and Cubchu
Normal Bug. Tarountula and spidops
Normal Rock. Same thing with rock ruff and the lycanrocs. Dawn should be Rock Fighting
Normal Steel. Zangoose
Ice Poison. Snealser
Rock Ghost. Sableye, Houndstone, Runeregus, Cursola
Ground Fairy. Genuinely stumped here. May have to be Granbull but I hard disagree.
Fire Fairy. Daschburn
Bug dragon. Flygon, Slither Wing and Yanmega
a lot of sound based moves are normal type. i think kricketune would be a good normal bug type
Idea for next video, retyping regular pokemon where the type combination only exists for legendaries.
For example, only Hoopa and Lunala are ghost/psychic. So what regular pokemon can also be ghost/psychic? Im thinking male Meowstic and female be psychic/fairy.
Or at the very least, adding more lines of type combos that only have 1 line. Like what other pomemon can be fire/ice other than galarian darmanitan zen mode lmao... i dont think there's any that can fit that type combo right now, but juat as an example.
mega pinsir's ability makes sense too
Dunsparce is a snake, not a bug.
Also, why not make Yanmega into a Bug/Dragon type?
4:14
And Lycanroc's Dusk form (the orange one) can stay pure Rock type
I like it
Ground/fairy would be the best combination on offense so they need to balance it or it would be op
Victiny should’ve been fire fairy smh my head
Ice Normal might work better for Eiscue honestly.
The vanillite line are literally icicles covered in snow. Why is no one talking about eiscue for normal/ice?
Why is no one talking about Caterpie for normal/bug?
I agree with the Rockruff line.
Dachsbum should have been fairy/fire. It's literally bread that is baked.
I can see Sneasler being ice/poison.
I agree with Snubbal.
I agree more with Flygon but I see Dunsparce.
And ask those ghost/rock types
Personally I feel like cubchu and beartic do fit more for normal ice because woodland critters and whatnot tend to be normal type whereas birds tend to be flying type regardless of if they can fly or not (doduo and dodrio) plus if eiscue was normal ice that would be weird cause it’s meant to be stonjourners counterpart so they would also probably have to make stonjourner a dual type which I don’t think it really needs
Ursaluna could have Easily been been Ground/Fairy
I think we could have just make them all 3 types cause wynaut? Also , wynaut you need to be a normal types aswell
My ideas
Normal/Ice : Eiscue
Normal/Bug : Spidops
Normal/Steel : Orthworm
Normal/Rock : Lycanroc
Fairy/Fire : Dachsbun
Ice/Poison : Sneasler
Bug/Dragon : Yanmega
Fairy/Ground : Mudsdale
Rock/Ghost : Cursola
Honestly i can see it!
flygon should've been bug and dragon just to nerf Drayton abit if keiran is suppose to be the quote on quote "champion" when Drayton has absolute threat of a Dragon team
Yanmega should have been Bug/Dragon
Can you do sinnoh
Kyu-bo-né 😭
I'd put normal on cricketune
Ninetails is fire/fairy in most hacks
Ninetails for fire fairy
They say nine but there is no dragon/fairy type
Mega altaria
@@Xatumi mega evolution isn’t in the games rn so that doesn’t count
Actually, You can it the vanilish line by using it's um...... Waste if you know what i mean
Normal Ice is 100% Beartic!!!
Play Palworld please 🙏
Nah
I feel like the the Pokémon even more deserving of the normal- ice type is delibird
