Cassian's chase ended when they entered Rome's Continental. After that Julius arranged safe passage to New York, that's when Antonio placed a 7 million dollar bounty on John's head. This fight comes after that...when John makes it back home and every hitman in New York comes after the bounty on John's head.
You missed a significant portion of the movie if you thought that this was a train from Rome to New York... LOL...
