Anyone who has ever lived in New York laughed out loud when the dudes moved like 3 seats down to get away from the fight but still weren't willing to switch cars to get away from the knife wielding lunatics. Its so accurate.
Although it wasn’t in New York, I have seen people fighting on a train before. Everyone did their best to give them space, as they had enough sense to know they’d be risking their safety for a conflict that had absolutely nothing to do with them.
i was thinking the same thing. with the amount of dead bodies and public nature of some of his kills, i wouldn't be surprised if NYers knew about the shadow assassin orgs and just were like "whelp, didn't see anything here"
it would have been funny if the train doors were closed before john step out like he would have to wait for the next station and sitting next to cassian awkwardly with the knife still on his chest😂😂😂
I always loved that smile Cassian gives at the end like he's happy his friend spared his life unlike everyone else. Hope he comes back for John Wick 3.
he appear later in the movie near the end looking at the offer on John's head and then shake his head, so we know that he's alive. Hopefully he'll come back for chapter 3 though.
its a great scene, i always thought of the smile as a "Well played, sir." in a "ill be back" kind of way. Killing Wick was really personal for him, after all. Hopefully we'll get some more awesome scenes between these two in chapter 3, imo Cassian is Wicks greatest threat XD
This scene sets up another one. Later in the movie John fights Ares (deaf girl) in the Hall of Mirrors and wins by stabbing her in the same spot. He pulls out the knife meaning he had respect for Cassian but not for Ares.
I do understand that, but she seemed to had a lot of respect for John which I don't see why it's not mutual but maybe for the sole fact she works for Santino and he wouldn't stop at sending her and his other forces after him. Cassian just wanted revenge/justice for his ward.
The fact that the announcer in the background says ''This is the end of the line'' right before Wick tells Cassian that he will die if he pulls out the knife, is genius!
Seems like in this world, everyone knows about the assassins, but as long as no civilians are hurt the local police and government doesn't get involved.
Tbh the entire scene with Cassian is way better than Ares. Like I know she was introduced at the beginning but she hardly has any character development and her being the finale fight is just a tad weak.
I seen 2 Crackhead fight in a video on the New York Subway people didn't gave a fuck, there's another train in Mexico where gays have sex and NOBODY gives a shit
Lol u don't even know the half of it. Watch the honest trailer video where they interview the directors of the film. They said this whole scene was inspired by a real life incident where new york subway riders didn't even notice a dead a body.
“I read about this guy, gets on the MTA here, dies. Six hours he's riding the subway before anybody notices his corpse doing laps around L.A., people on and off sitting next to him. Nobody notices.”
Fun fact: if you watch again the scene when the bowery shows his scar in neck that john gave to him, he talks about something like john had given him a chance whether to pull out his gun and shoot john in the back but die due to blood loss or just put his hands and pressure it to stop the bleeding" this is the same , he survived because he did not pull out the knife to continue the fight.
I loled so hard at this movie. It's like assassins society and their activities like shooting eachother all day long are so common in the world of John Wick, that nobody even cares that there are two bleeding bodies lying on the metro platform, and nobody seems to care that two assassins are having a knife fight in their tram. What the hell xD What a weird conception for a world.

Something I really like about the world of John Wick is how civilian seems to be unaware of what happen around them. It is super silly if you think about it, but do you focus on what is really important, the action.
Cassian owned every scence. He'll be back in CHAPTER 3 and I bet you any amount of money that he will be an unlikely ally along with the white girl assassin to HELP John Wick.
True... The thought of the signing by Ares and words by John, left it a little open when he tells her "Yeah... See you around..." We will have to see in the trilogy.
The Commonly Informed the other girl with signs is not dead. He spared her life. You didn’t noticed how she said.. “I’ll be seeing you”. John then replied with “yeah sure” .
+The Commonly Informed She is going to be in part 3 is already confirmed, but is not confirmed if Common going to be in it. I hope he at least makes a cameo to help John.
for anyone confused for why no one sitting in the train were running away after the fights begins, its because the john wick universe the people of the normal world are fully aware of the assassins and the criminal underground. to them this is normal, and even the law enforecement dont bother like seen by jimmy in the first movie where he says goodnight john.
No I don't think so. If that was true why were John and him shooting each other quietly and purposefully not making a scene in the earlier scene before they get on the train. People on the train weren't moving because they wanted to watch or there was no where else for them to go. There are subway fights all the time and usually in those videos people can't help but watch. And when the train stops they all run out. Normal people are absolutely not supposed to be aware of the secret assassin organization in these movies.
So I was hoping someone could explain something in this scene to me. How do they both get on the train when only the doors on one side seem to open, and they're on different platforms and opposite sides of the train? 🤷🏻♂️
